Extra Throttle House

Жыл бұрын

The new 2023 Range Rover Sport SE ($108,450 starting in Canada, $90,000 starting in the US) is the third generation of the luxurious yet sporty SUV from Land Rover. In this trim, a 3.0 L turbo inline-6 cylinder engine is combined with a 48 volt mild hybrid for a smooth power delivery. Thomas and James take it out on some back roads to see how this new Range Rover sport performs as a luxurious daily, and decide if they would save some money by choosing this over a full sized Range Rover. We hope you enjoy the episode. Subscribe!!
Thank you to Jaguar Land Rover Metro West for lending us their brand new Range Rover Sport www.landrovermetrowest.ca

The new Range Rover Sport weighs 5000-5900lbs so it has the power to weight ratio of a miata basically 😆 For context, this mid size SUV weighs as much as a early 2000s GMC Yukon XL.

New Sport V8 will be quicker than current Sport SVR, calling it now.
@Offensivebeast
@Offensivebeast Жыл бұрын
The normal 4.4 V8 model L461 is rated just as quick as the outgoing L494 SVR (0-60mph 4.3s, 0-100kmh 4.5s) also with the “stormer package” apparently the new L461 handles just as good as the outgoing SVR, so the upcoming SVR should be out of this world, not to mention that it’ll probably have around 620hp which is 45hp more than the old SVR, also with the current spy shots we can already see larger intakes and more aggressive styling along with it being lower to the ground, definitely a vehicle I’m looking forward to seeing!

L461 is heavier than L494 it needs more HP just to match performance of outgoing model.

@@Offensivebeast technically less power, but check out Sam Carlegions race of the SVR and Defender V8. The 518 vs 575 horsepower is debatable in the L494. Furthermore, the torque is going to be greatly improved which is what really matters. Also, X5 M50i with identical power figures regularly runs 0-60 mph in sun 4 seconds; if that means anything!

The Sport is my fav Land Rover. I agree they smoothed out or toned down their lineup a bit too much. For $100k this Sport should be well under 5 sec 0-60. I’d look to BMW’s X5M, its twin turbo V8 with over 500hp for about $90k.

please do a review on the 2017-2019 Fusion Sport, they are pretty badass unknown sleepers (the equivalent of a baby Taurus SHO) they are AWD twin turbo V6 from the factory and make 325hp and 380ftlbs stock with a 6 speed auto and electronic dampening suspension they are pretty loaded for the price. The suspension literally firms up in Sport mode electronically and the handle capabilities basically double, less body roll, less front end nose dive under hard braking, and at high speeds on a bumpy road it makes the car alot more controllable! Just trying to get one of my favorite overlooked cars out there so they can be appreciated. The reason I'd say they are pretty unknown is they only made them for 3 years and made less than 28,000 of them all together even though they were faster than the Taurus SHO they were kind of over looked I'd say cause the SHO was produced twice as long as had 40 more HP, but here is the kicker though the Fusion makes 40ftlbs more torque!

L460 prioritises comfort, so steering is less intuitive, it’s more wofty in a typical Range Rover manner, you’ve a more open cabin with a higher driving position, L461 still very comfortable and luxurious, more engaged overall handling, way less wofty, with the stormer package it’s as good as the old SVR apparently in terms of handling, your more cocooned in the cabin, you sit lower, only way youre truly going to find out is if you drive both and what your perception of value is, but in my opinion theses are for 2 different kinds of people so perhaps it’s worth the difference, in my opinion the Sport is just a better suv overall, more versatile and has more than enough practicality and creature comforts.
