Thank you for making this video, Tabi! I am having difficulty deciding whether or not I should transfer. I would love to get confirmation from you. I am an online student earning a Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a social welfare concentration; however, it's from Oregon (Eastern Oregon University). I found out it is not accredited through the CSWE. Instead, it is only through the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, and they aren't recognized in my state of California. So, I talked to California State University in Sacramento because they have a BSW program, and they said I could transfer but that I'd have to do it before I am a senior, which is approaching this coming year. Is it the wisest for me to transfer and graduate with a BSW and then enter an MSW? The schools you mention sound great, and I am assuming that is for graduates as to when I need to look for a health track, etc. By the way, the BSW program at CSU offers an internship, as opposed to my current degree program does not. It mentions a Capstone. Also, do you think it makes a difference whether we graduate from an online university instead of in person? Is the internship just as good as one that is offered through an online degree program? The program that integrates nursing sounds ideal! Appreciate this so much. Also, do you recommend online BSW or in person? I’d rather do online but I wasn’t sure which school was best for BSW

Kami! You are such a wonderful support to this channel, thank you so much for all of your engagement! ❤️ So, the way I see it, here are your options: You can continue with your program you are currently on. Since you are almost done. You'll graduate with a bachelor's degree and then you can apply to an MSW program that's accredited. Now, when you don't have a BSW, you will not qualify for the advanced standing program. Because most universities require that you have a BSW from an accredited university first. The advance standing program is just a faster track in getting the MSW. So instead of doing the standard two years of graduate school, you typically only do one or one and a half years. When you are doing the standard MSW program that is 2 years, you have an internship each year. So it really doesn't matter at the end of the day. I would just do what is easiest for you and what is most financially sound. If you were doing the advanced standing program, you would only have one year of internship, because your BSW internship your accounts towards that. I hope that makes sense and helps. Hey Tabi! I had another question. When it comes to the internship portion do you know if it is lacking if attending an online program versus some place locally. Also, can you tell me what the schedule was like regarding the practicum internship? I am hoping it’s not like nursing clinicals? Lol. I was looking at nursing programs and their schedule is brutal and that is concerning. It would be ideal to find hybrid but I want to be sure there is a internship program set in place. It seems like it’s difficult getting details about what type of agencies the school collaborates with and what the schedule is like. I am worried I’m going to apply for a program and not be able to maintain the schedule. Did you attend an online program or in person?
