@@PiGCoaching Update: I've gotten to the point where I can smoke people in low gold and high silver. I switched to the build order you did in your previous bronze to gm. I realized I wasn't good enough to drone up 3 bases and defend from early pressure, and zergling baneling seems harder to micro. I attack move my roaches and ravagers across the map with their 3 upgrades and keep macroing and sending more works every time.

But after seeing this, I decided to try it out and using this series and the previous B2GM, I managed to hit plat on my 21st ladder game. LING BANE IS SO MUCH FUN!! I feel it gives way more options and potential for comeback vs having a clumped up ball of roaches. I also had a very similar turtle terran on the same map so copy pasted your "jump up to 90 drones and get some ultras' technique and it worked extremely well even though I did let him get his third base. You made a really good decision basing it on Ling Bane, this build is SO much fun to play and feels really satisfying. I know you might do it anyways, and you have reserves with smurfing, but I think it would be really cool if you did a new more macro focused Protoss B2GM, because while I am learning protoss, I struggle trying to transition off of 2 bases. Even when I tell myself before the game "I'm not just going to do a 2 base all in, I'm going to go for a more macro heavy game" I end up just doing a 2 base all in because it just works and it's really hard to break that habit.

I can't get decent engagements with my ling/bane... I just never seem to have enough. Keep dying at the 10 minute mark. We all hit these and it's important to not focus on big things like "man i suck vs terran right now" - though we all feel that way sometimes lol! Instead try to focus on things you can control. Look at the replays and watch what's throwing you off, damaging you and putting you in deep waters. For timestamps on KZbin just write the actual time in the YT video to easily link where you're talking about. The spot you meant to mark was: 2:33:30 The reason I built it there is I'm planning to defend my ramp and that way it's closer to the ramp and can be moved to my natural faster. If you're more worried about just surviving you can build it in the middle of your mineral line and it's a little safer. In this case I already built the safe spine in the main mineral line and this second one is to try and secure the area towards the natural expansion

Different for every single player. SC has so much range you can play such a wide variety of strategies. Essentially it's just more and more details that get added with each leap. We've swapped to this plan for ZvZ. Mirror matches are the most different from the other matchups so it makes sense the first matchup to learn a specific build order for will be your mirror matchup. In this case it's just a gasless 2-base roach build that avoids the ling bane war that usually decides ZvZ. Although you're obviously confident in your timed reaction, I don't think it's realistic for us merely mortals... lol. Is it too expensive in making detection whatever or should I just get good and making detection if absolutely necessary?
@PiGCasts Жыл бұрын
You can't always be safe vs everything at once or you're playing too paranoid. There'll naturally be things you run into a lot that I don't at all here, and if you want you can definitely throw some spores down at a set timing. In my experience DTs are very rare in ZvP so I wasn't even thinking about it. At the end of the day if DTs only hit you 1/20 games it's worth just skipping detection every game and copping the rare loss to being surprised. On the other hand if you play against DTs 3/5 games - start building spores every game! The meta shifts so if something is getting popular it's probably because pros or a content creator were using a certain strategy, and it'll spread through the ladder - so well worth responding to these patterns as you experience them.

@PiG Casts Wow, thanks for the reply. Now you just made me think something really new for me: metagame! I get paired against a lot of people with better borders than I have, but they usually end up being around my mmr. You can check their profile: sometimes it’s a different race that they’ve got to Masters, and sometimes they genuinely were Masters but dropped to Plat mmr and the season just hasn’t reset them yet.

@@nanowasabi4421 it's more likely the MMR bug. Lots of people got masters placement with low MMR.

What's your actual MMR and that of your opponents? You do get occasional mismatches but ladder is incredible accurate in how it matches. There are rare cases where you get a 600+ mmr difference, especially if you play in the middle of the night or in a very isolated part of the world, but usually the opponents should be around your MMR. Keep in mind people often have achieved a much higher rank in teamgames than 1v1, or used to be higher in a much older version of the game and aren't so high anymore

Every Queen fan cringed to you saying Freddy Mercury is two band members. Lol.
