I would’ve done it if it was easy. The golf r has the catback and muffler, no resonators or mid mufflers. Unfortunately there’s nothing to change the stock exhaust aside from a downpipe or cutting off the muffler and losing the valve function

You might already know this, but the 8y has a soundaktor in the interior, so most of that exhaust that you're hearing in the interior is not your actual exhaust. You can turn the fake exhaust sound off completely with vcds if you want to be able to hear your mods a bit more.

@@JVette01 yeah if only they sounded that good on the outside, that's the biggest thing I miss about my 2018 is the exhaust was pretty loud from factory, and with a tune it sounded so good!

the 8y exhaust is terrible compared to the 8v. Mid pipes really did nothing. You have to spend $ on an aftermarket exhaust to really get the full experience. 0 reason to buy the sport exhaust from factory. Complete waste of $.

That’s why I didn’t buy the sport exhaust. I did some research and saw it didn’t make any difference.
