I went to American Laser Center years ago. They used this huge professional machine to remove hair on face and anywhere on the body. Super painful and burning! I went 2 years to have my upper lip and chin's hair removed and they didn't fully go away! I used an at home IPL and in a matter of one or two treatments all my hairs where gone. Now there are really good ones for at home and painless. I have tried several devices and I can give faith that they work. Many professional places are abusing of people stealing their money, charging them a lot of money for things they can do even better at home!!!!!!

I'm 45 and have found that with any gadget or serum I've used at home, a very noticeable difference takes time, like not a few months, but many months or even a year. I'm assuming it's partially because of my age. However, I don't have the budget for a cosmetic dermatologist, and have less fine lines and wrinkles then when I started using at home treatment at 39. So at home treatment works great for me it's just slower than what most would like.

Alex does lots of testing between different red light therapy devices. I went with biomax panel because they are OGs. They were the first ones to modernize red light therapy years ago. In Alex’s testing panels gave off a lot more power than any mask , even the most expensive one. It’s more convenient to have a portable mask, yes, but panel can be used anywhere you want, like neck etc. mask is not easy to apply to neck u less you buy a neck mask. Could I possibly move in?(Lol ) My hyperpigmentation did get worse but I kept thinking it was my imagination so I kept using it. But i did finally accept the fact that it was getting darker. I was really upset because of the money. Living on a fixed income now limits me to what I use. If I lived in your area I would save my money and get a treatment that you would recommend. I think you are so honest and I appreciate you very much for sharing your expertise with all of us. Blessings to you

Same here re making my melasma worse, and not wanting to believe it! The company said it was due to retinol use, so I even tried stopping that. Didn't make even the slightest difference. So bummed. These devices are not cheap. I have also heard that taking HRT or hormone fluctuations can also make someone more photo sensitive :(

Red light therapy is now an old technology. I've been using it for years. I also went for long periods when I slacked off. It has been proven to work in many different applications. Do your own research. I'm 76 and I know it works from my own experience. This dr. is making things sound very complicated. Lasers use a concentrated light beam that focuses on one tiny spot. It's useless for facial rejuvenation . LED floods the target area, which is what's needed, for that purpose. I'm dismayed at this woman's useless presentation. I would never engage her for any medical service. At 76, I continue to get unsolicited compliments on my skin. (I've found the 630 wavelength, including a range of a few wavelengths plus or minus to be the best for skin. I recently started using the Omnilux mask which includes a specific wavelength range in the 800s for anti- sag support. I also did some research on this range before I spent my money. LED red light research, both medical and cosmetic, has grown exponentially since I started using it.

At home devices should absolutely not be used. My clients end up damaging their skin & come to me to fix it.
