Cool vid. I watched reviews and went with the Beta 300 RE. I’ve had jetting problems which left me with a lot of buyers remorse and wishing I had gotten something else. Got the jetting fixed with a JD kit and now it’s the best bike I’ve ever ridden. And……it’s not orange like everyone else’s up here in Idaho. Cheers fellas. All the best. 🍻🏁

I felt the same about the carb initially. My ‘22 xcw had fuel injection and was simple. Bought the lectron billetron pro for the beta and ultimately sent it back. The stock carb with the right jetting feels great and has unbeatable torque. Thanks for watching and commenting!

All the new fuel injected ktms Run very lean. 2t and 4t. That's why they are fuel injected because they are a big known company that had to lean them out to ship over here. Hints why they went to tpi and tbi. 2 t feels like a 4 t with no real low end feel and doesn't wake up until midrange. Unlike beta and sherco which are smaller companies that fly under the Radar. Hints carbs and better low end torque and pull. How a 2 t should be. Xcw isn't a race bike.

The KTM in the green map might be more responsive. A 300 xc might be a better comparison to the 300rr. I got the 250 xc-w as my first bike. I wanted a plush suspension and power that wouldn't light the wheel up. I should've gotten the 300 xc-w, but I thought the 250 would be a good middle ground for a first bike.
@Weekendwarriorsmoto22 күн бұрын
You’re right, xc to race edition would be more comparable. We were trying to compare them in the terrain that we ride from the standpoint of one bike, doing it all. Regarding the 250 XCW, it does feel more aggressive, spools up quicker. Definitely more fun to ride, but the 300 is better for lugging the slow stuff and for the torque.
@micahnuckols504622 күн бұрын
@@Weekendwarriorsmoto Yeah it all depends on what the rider wants. The 250 was the safe bet for me. A lot of 300 xc riders I know do hare scrambles and stay away from slow technical stuff. They're faster in real life than they appear from their race videos.

I have to agree .... The Beta 300RR I rode last weekend has the most responsive 2t engine I've felt in any dirt bike. Beyond that its hard to make a judgement because the suspension was so under-sprung and soft the bike was a bit hard to control
@Weekendwarriorsmoto5 ай бұрын
The race edition’s suspension would probably feel better to you. Stiffer and with much better hold up. I watched a couple of your videos. Looks like you have great places to ride! A little similar to Pennsylvania.
@painsrides5 ай бұрын
@@Weekendwarriorsmoto ... The riding here in southern New England is similar, but we're limited, it took a lot of years searching to find the areas we ride. I also wish I hadn't given up my XCw ...But I did, luckily the DRz got some chops and holds it's own
@Weekendwarriorsmoto5 ай бұрын
You looked good on that Drz in your video that I watched. You did everything that your buddy did on his beta

@@Weekendwarriorsmoto .... I have the DRz setup for those trails and it does great..It's not going to win races but it's a hell of an off road bike. As long as I don't have to pick it up or move it around much I don't really notice the weight 😐

Great bike! I have a KTM 350 also. Love the bike but appreciate the lighter feeling 2 stroke especially when tired!

Been out of the harescramble scene for years.but i set up a 02 yz250 then a 04 125.i used to set up the motor for bottom end tourqe.reed spacer fmf knarly pipe.on the 125 i had the stinger outlet opened up with a pipe spreader i also shaved 20 thousand off the header portion of the pipe used 65 pipe springs with a brass pipe shim from i think a rm 125.very lean pilot and lean cut away.had a flywheel weight.but my gearing was totally opposite of what people normally do.instead of going up on the rear sprocket i went down i think i ran a 46 rear.i could lug it around to keep the chassis settled and with yhe gearing anf flywheel it could fly through the tight stuff and even for a 125 had plenty of rpm range to hardly shift.but that was 20 years ago.

That’s some serious engineering! We are so spoiled now with these modern 2 stroke woods bikes. I had an 02 yz250 and promptly sold it after my 1st couple of woods rides 😀. Electric start is my friend 😉. Thanks for watching and commenting!

That beta just trucks thru without any effort and darting all over. Plus traction looks better on beta
@WeekendwarriorsmotoАй бұрын
That’s one of my favorite things about the Beta. The power delivery is so linear. Thanks for watching!
@onthethrottle71044 ай бұрын
Personally I like both bikes a lot. I just can't deal with the vibration of the Beta and how it twitches at higher speeds. I know I can work out the unstableness and twitting of the Beta, but that vibration is there forever. Great bikes, would have been nice if they really put the bikes to the test.
@Weekendwarriorsmoto4 ай бұрын
I only notice the vibration on the Beta when I ride the xcw. I moved the forks up (lower) in the clamps so it feels great at speed. Both bikes are so close that it boils down to the rider’s ability. The xcw has ground clearance for days and is comfortable at low speeds. The beta is lower and shorter feeling and wants to be ridden faster. The rocks are where I notice the difference. I ride the beta faster through the rockier sections and it performs well. The xcw is the benchmark for technical single track though. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I rode a 2021 KTM XCW it was so smooth that I felt like it had no feel, no pop, no nothing. I guess if you like that.. it’s just my opinion. I like the raw feel of the carb’d beta. More connection with the bike for me.
@Weekendwarriorsmoto3 ай бұрын
I had a ‘22 300xcw that I sold after buying the Beta. The xcw had its merits but the beta was better for me and more fun to ride. The tbi xcw is a significant upgrade over the tpi in power delivery, suspension and handling.

@@Weekendwarriorsmoto Sounds great. We are lucky to have a selection of great bikes to select from! You can't go wrong with either one or to add a Sherco to the mix as well.

I felt quite the opposite on beta vs ktm.. Old and new. Ktms Tucking front end that knives On air shocks and newer sprung shocks. Twitchy and unsettled. I Short shift beta 300 race. Ride gear higher and keep in lower rpm range. Traction is there. Ride in rain mode if needed. Beta goes where you point it.
