I have done 122 km/ 75 miles on full battery charge on my X5 50e on long journeys. Some of it, I suspect, is due to regen. Currently my average consumption is 74.5 mpg(UK), with 67% electric mileage. The X5 PHEV is a no brainer for me, wirh huge saving on fuel.

Just bought the x5 50e after having a 2020 x5 40in (which I loved so much) and I'm beyonnnnnnd impressed with the updates on this car but also with the air suspension system... the drive is night and day, it's crazy.

For long highway drives the standard X5 40i xdrive will likely be more economical. My dad said theirs does 32-33+ mpg on the highway at 70 mph. Still plenty fast too, 0-60 5.0 seconds…

Probably true given the weight difference, but almost everybody has mixed driving patterns, so the PHEV should still make better financial sense.

I have the X5 45E which is similar but the 50E definitely is an upgrade from the 45E with additional power and range. It's great as long as you have access to a plug in overnight and a willingness to plug it in often. If not, just stick with the 40I

Thanks for the interesting review. I admittedly fast-forwarded thru parts of the video, but after you did the 45-ish all electric and the battery was fully depleted, I would've been interested in seeing what sort of hwy mileage you might have obtained driving in hybrid mode (if you had taken the time to fully recharge the battery again). In other words, 3 options: electric-only (you did that), gas only (you did that), and a third: hybrid (gas primary but with a fully-charged battery). Thanks!

Why is it a good thing? Over here it makes more sense to buy one outright (lease companies screw you over when you return the vehicle, damage etc)
@shivsparkky10 күн бұрын
@@drunkenwhiskeyeu Lease first four years or what ever u are comfortable in because you pay interest on portion of the car value, at the beginning of the year since lease rates are lower. plus you have a flexibility to upgrade and i totally agree this is not for everyone. When the lease comes to an end and if u like the car so much finance it and the then your rate of interest will be slightly higher on finance will only apply for the residual portion. this way you save some Interest overall.And BMW always has programs that they offer lower interest rate Month too.

That is very dependent on driving style and duration.

@@DailyMotor realize that is correct, but it is the number most people would be most interested in. You should devise a 'norma' route and test that. What is a normal route? Well how about a 10-20 mile commute of 20% city/80% highway or thereabouts.
