I ordered my 2024 C8 last fall and received it in early January. I just hit 1,000 miles. I love it. I ordered the hard top convertible($7,500). It goes up and down in 16 seconds with the touch of a button. It also saves space in the trunk since the top from the coupe has to be stored in the trunk if you remove it...not good for long trips. I got the 2LT with GT 2 seats. Very comfortable. I would not recommend the competition seats since they are not considered as comfortable for long distance driving. I also ordered the front lift and magnetic ride control. I paid MSRP of $90,000. After adding an after market low rear spoiler,front splitter,some ppf and ceramic coating,my total was a little over $100,000.

If I had the Bucks that’s exactly what I would like to do. Maybe a 2020 in a couple of years realistically. Hopefully at least a 2LT but got my eye on something else for the immediate future since what I’m thinking has front and back seats. Maybe someday. 👍

For those unaware, vertical doors are not standard or even available as an option on a C8 of any model year, or any trim level. This car must have had undergone an aftermarket gullwing door install kit.
@AutomotiveAnonymous2087 ай бұрын
Yup! It’s a 2024 but was used so somewhere in the first 3k miles the original owner had these installed. Personally, I wouldn’t want to own it this way, but for driving it for the day it was extremely cool! 😎

Thank you for a great review! Spot on. I got a '24 hard top convertible in January, and it's an amazing sports car. Yesterday my wife and I went to a park, and I tossed a folding chair, blankets, books, jackets, etc., all in the trunk with space to spare. We didn't even need to use the "frunk." Put the top down with one button, and went. My previous vehicle was a 2016 C7 Corvette, which was a wonderful car--but seriously, I was shocked at the difference between the C7 and C8 in terms of technology and speed and even the superior quality of the interior materials. The exterior panels exhibit more uniform and closer tolerances. Mine is the 3LT Z51, so it has additional cooling, electronic slip differential, performance suspension, changed gearing for more low end speed, and track ready brakes to name a few things. With magnetic ride control, the dynamics of the ride change depending on the mode you choose, making it ideal for whatever surfaces you're riding on. A fully loaded C8, is an expensive car, but nothing like comparable vehicles from Porsche or Maclaren, and others. Don't hesitate should you get a chance to ride one or take a test drive.

Thumbs up. I think you could have reduced the 0-60 by a half second on that 0-60 though because I can tell you didn't use (or weren't fully in) launch control and you may have even lifted a bit early. Even with the power loss at elevation, that car should still do mid to high 3s.
@AutomotiveAnonymous2088 ай бұрын
I absolutely agree! And without rollout it was a 3.9. But I filmed those two 0-60s as the first acceleration I did in this Corvette so now that I know its behavior better I could have fine tuned the testing if I wanted to. But a 4.1 at in my area regardless is amazing, especially for an NA car and on its first attempts with not fresh tires lol. I think that’s about what the Trackhawk ran when I tested one of those last year. 😳🤪

Yeah, the launch wasn’t fantastic that’s for sure. With a few test launches it would have been a bit better. But still limited by traction and density altitude. I’d love to experience this in perfect conditions! 😍

I have a 2023 2lt hard top convertible and just hit 10k miles. Got my C8 in August of 2023 and have been on several long road trips. I have the GT2 seats which are very comfortable (heated and cooled) and supportive. I've never felt fatigued due to the seats. I might add that I'm 56. The bolsters on the seat bottom and back are fixed so larger (girthy) drivers my be a little uncomfortable.

I can’t believe how long it took to find this one, lol. But it was 100% worth the wait! Honestly, in person I think any of the colors offered look good on the C8. This is one of those cars that was designed in such a way that it basically speaks for itself! 🤩
@dwightlooi8 ай бұрын
It's a good car, but it's not the super deal that everyone makes it out to be. Basically it's the same price as the M3 $76K and up. It is not faster, it is not better furnished and it has way less utility. Yes, it is mid-engined and rear drive, but that doesn't have to costs more. I drove the a 2LT 2022. It's a bit too loud even without the performance exhaust and there is no way to turn off the speaker augmented noise which is annoying.
@AutomotiveAnonymous2088 ай бұрын
I hear you! Having never driven a mid engine car before I think the most surprising part of this car is how hard it launches from a dig. It’s basically EV level acceleration out of the hole. But then from rolls, even 20mph it just feels like a well balanced 500HP mid 3,000# car at that point. I could imagine the E-Ray and Zo6 with their power bump is an entirely better experience. But for the base Corvette I was very impressed, I just wish it still started at 60k, lol.
@dwightlooi8 ай бұрын
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 That's not really true... EVs launch much harder, having neither throttle lag nor the need to rev to mid- 4000 rpms before getting near maximum torque. Weight distribution is only relevant for launching 2WD cars too. With 4 driven wheels it is largely a no issue because the total traction, all else being equal, across 4 wheels is roughly the same regardless of weight distribution or shift. -- Regardless, my point is that the C8 is not a super deal car. It is a good car, but at $70+K it's priced fairly but not a steal like so many people say it is. Remember the C5 was a $40K car (new) and no cars did not go up 75% in price over the last 20 years. -- Personally, I think GM needs a 3-3-3 car as the "Jr. Halo car" for young people to dig the brand. 300hp, 3000 lbs, staring at $30,000. I think it is very doable, mid engine or not.

Well if you were really honest, you wouldn’t have called it “good looking.” The C8 is an engineering masterpiece. So good it’s almost unbelievable. But it’s a design disaster. Chaotic. Collision of random lines and angles. Bulky and toad-like with a huge, chopped of mouth and ugly rear end. It looks as aerodynamic as a brick with crazy lines etched into it.
@AutomotiveAnonymous2088 ай бұрын
Lol, I would argue looks are subjective! I personally like the exterior styling of the Corvette more than many other mid/rear engine cars. But I am curious what your favorite looking car is? Thanks for watching! 🙂
@iowa618 ай бұрын
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 Looks are indeed subjective. What’s NOT subjective is that the C8 is a chaotic design. A collision of lines and angles. You may find that pleasing. But it is what it is. A HUGE chopped off front end. And a rear that is simply incomprehensible.
@iowa618 ай бұрын
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 The C7 is a beautiful car. Save for the chaotic rear end. The original Stingray and E-type jags are stunning. The modern Jag f-types are beautiful beyond belief. The Ford GT is gorgeous. Many McLarens are beautiful. In terms of design vernacular, the C8 has more in common with the Pontiac Aztek than a Ford GT. What is also not subjective is that the C8 is the only Corvette in history to actually be called “ugly” by many major automotive press. It boggles my mind that someone designed it, thought it was attractive, and then someone in management approved it.
