Hi how does it drive compared to your hummer? I have a 2023 edition 1 hummer currently, just thinking the Denali would have better range and I like the interior….
@AldermanCars2 ай бұрын
The sierra is better on the highway and the range is 100 miles better. For me personally, the extra 100 miles is of little value, as the Hummer range is plenty. It could factor in on long trips, but I recently drove the Hummer 730 miles straight, and most of the time that I stopped to charge, I needed the break. I prefer the length of the Hummer and the four wheel steering is a little bit more aggressive, so overall it feels quite a bit smaller than the Sierra. The 16" difference in length is the difference between easily fitting in my garage and barely fitting in my garage. Cheers! ~Mark A.

I appreciate the comment and the perspective. I personally disagree. I am closing in on 20,000 miles with my Hummer Edition One and it is the coolest vehicle that I have ever driven period. My wife has a loaded 2023 Tahoe High Country, but I MUCH prefer my Hummer. I also spend 1/3 of the money with the Hummer vs the Tahoe for the same miles. No oil changes. I refuel the Hummer while I am sleeping a couple of times per week. I could go on and on. If you haven't yet, drive one of these vehicles with an open mind. Cheers ~ Mark Alderman

@@AldermanCars while I'm sure the driving experience is generally wonderful, the massive weight gain is detrimental on and off road, especially with the cost of good large off road tires now and for the amount of miles you would have to drive to offset the massive cost increase, charging at home so as to not pay a larger electric cost/ mile vs gas, and the charging inconvenience vs 5 minute fill up, still doesn't make financial sense. It's cool, it's way too fast, and I would like to see a 5 year cost of ownership comparison vs the equivalent ICE vehicle.
@timmiserАй бұрын
No the financial sense is very clear. I pay $150 to fuel up my truck every week. It costs me $25 to charge up the Silverado EV for the same miles of range. That's about $6500 a year in fuel savings or $32K over 5 years and that's not even taking into account of the oil changes, filters, and other maintenance and repairs. A comparatively equipped gas Silverado costs about $71K.
@nathanmeyer3855Ай бұрын
@@timmiser of course it depends on each person's driving habits, how often do you drive on road trips where you can't charge it at home, and what kind of mileage per year you put on it. And if you do drive on long road trips how much of your life you want to spend waiting at the charge station both for a spot to charge and for the time to charge. Also how much is a replacement battery once the service life of the battery has been consumed. Once you reach that point where the service life of the battery has been consumed the replacement cost of the battery will likely be the price of a replacement gas truck. If you had maintained the gas truck well since the beginning versus the electric the remaining financial benefit to the electric truck will likely disappear and reverse the moment the battery needs replacement, as well as the massive depreciation of the electric truck versus the gas truck.
@timmiserАй бұрын
@@nathanmeyer3855 On a long road trip, if you have 450 miles range, that is 6 hours of driving at 70 mph. Taking a 45 minute break to fast charge after 6 hours is not really a hardship so that argument is really moot. The replacement battery argument is old and tired also. EV batteries have already shown they easily outlast the vehicle. There are plenty of older Tesla's with 400-500K miles on them with their original battery still going strong and degradation has been proven to be so minimal it is hardly noticed. Do you buy a gas truck thinking what the cost of replacing the engine would be after 400,000 miles? Of course not because making it to 400,000 miles in any vehicle is considered a triumph in itself!
