5k difference in price deserves more than a passing mention and should be considered when comparing these two trucks also.
@CarsMadeSimple5 ай бұрын
I wasn't directly comparing these two trucks seen in this video per say. This was what I had access to for the sake of Colorado vs Ranger. Comparable trucks can approach $5k price difference (Loaded Z71 vs Lariat) it just depends on how they are equipped.
@ThomasVManАй бұрын
I believe TFL drag raced the midsize trucks and the Ranger beat them all with the 2.3L. They were all pretty amazed it did so well considering the lower output numbers. I do really like the Ranger a lot and it would be my first choice, especially with the 2.7L V6.

Drove the 2.7 Ranger on a 20 mile loop in Northern MA/Southern VT that I also drove a Gladiator (looking for smaller TV that can tow 6,000 lb camper and also be a fun daily driver (which my old Tundra is not). The Ranger had incredible power and very nice ride. The Gladiator, with max tow, felt pretty capable and would be nice niche vehicle but not the same level of ease as daily driver. Turn radius alone on the ford was pretty cool.

The Colorado just has too many issues for me. It does start out a little cheaper but sacrifices std. alloy wheels, rear seat armrest, map pockets, cruise control and several other features that the Ranger comes with. Chevy also only offers a black interior on most trims with Ford offering several options. The Ranger also offers several powertrain options, the Chrome appearance option that Chevy doesn't and has the Ranger has the more powerful Raptor. The Colorado also weights more and gets lower mileage. Prices on both when optioned up are insane and well into full size territory so its no surprise they aren't setting the world on fire in sales

The things you don't understand about the Ranger, it's a global vehicle. Rear vents is available in the global model for and most countries care more about storage under rear seat instead of 60/40 for eg. And the VW is in partnership with Ford for the new Amarok, and that doesn't have any physical buttons, so it needs HVAC to be in the infotainment system.

A Lariat should be compared to a Z71 Colorado as it adds vented seating, driver's memory setting, more soft touch materials, full surround vision cameras, full suite of safety tech, adaptive cruise and more.
@CarsMadeSimple5 ай бұрын
As I mentioned in the first couple minutes of the video... I didn't have access. Also a Z71 doesn't automatically add any of those items. Those are all included in packages some of which are exclusive to Z71 and some of those aren't. You can get adaptive cruise and surround view cameras on LT but unfortunately that was the one package this truck was missing.

Literally mentioned at 0:32 that I was not able to due to inventory and no your Colorado does not have radar based cruise control (or lane keeping). These systems are all camera based on that truck. Every Colorado has lane keeping but lane centering is not available at all.

It just sounds like to me that you’re a Ford salesman, because you sure are pushing the Ford. I understand that you couldn’t get a Z71 or higher trim level, so why didn’t you just wait and do the video when you could compare apples to apples. I just feel that you’re down on the Chevy
@CarsMadeSimple2 ай бұрын
I only have vehicles for a short time to review. I've driven the Z71 and all other trims of the Colorado. I am not down on the Chevy at all but merely being realistic about what they offer and how they drive. I am not alone in the media community about the Ranger being very nice to drive and offering a decent value.

My 2024 Ranger lariat has rear vents , they are just under the driver and passenger seats versus being on the center console. Maybe he should look closer before spouting out that it doesnt have them.
@CarsMadeSimple2 ай бұрын
Those aren't A/C vents. Those are heating ducts. Can you divert A/C to the floor? Yes. Is that efficient use? Not really. So yes, it doesn't have A/C vents.
@jamesberry74442 ай бұрын
@@CarsMadeSimple LOL , say what you will. When i turn on the AC cold air blows out of those vents to the rear cabin. So yes , they ARE rear AC vents. Efficiency is a totally different topic and has nothing to do with your original incorrect statement that it does not have rear AC vents. Do your homework if your going to do reviews on vehicles from now on. Dont try to persuade people with your personal opinions , which in this case , are wrong.
@CarsMadeSimple2 ай бұрын
@@jamesberry7444 I've done my research. When you click "auto", I guarantee you the A/C does not blow out of vents on the floor.
@jamesberry74442 ай бұрын
@@CarsMadeSimple Now your narrowing it down to certain events like using "auto" ?? Why weren't you this in-depth during your review ? The little info you gave would make people think that there were no rear vents at all which possibly could sway their decision on buying this excellent vehicle. Now you keep singling out specific circumstances that , if done , cold air wont come out of those vents. Initially you didn't even acknowledge these vents existed , now you keep bringing up specific circumstances to where they wont blow out cold air. Your video should have included all this info instead of saying "no rear vents". I liked your video otherwise , but your info about no rear vents was mis-leading and incorrect. Im done with this conversation since i believe you will just try to continue to defend yourself on this topic.

Frontier doesn't compare to either of these two trucks. The Frontier is a simple straightforward truck and a lot of people like/want the ability to go a little old school. That doesn't make it the better truck.
