Great comparison! My wife and I just received our custom built 2024 Z71 Traverse and we LOVE it! The ride is way better than the other 3 trim levels due to the 1 inch suspension lift and bigger off-road tires. I think the biggest decision that it came down to for us was the price tag, the Tahoe's are so nice but so expensive and for the same amount of storage space, the Traverse just made more sense for the value. Great video, we enjoy watching all the great content!

I had a feeling the new Traverse would be quicker than the 5.3 Tahoe (especially at higher elevation). Thanks for the back to back comparison. Everyone's moaning about the turbo, but 3 out of the 4 cars Ive owned in my life have been turbocharged and Ive never had a problem with that aspect of any of them. Electronics and HVAC stuff are far more likely to go wrong before the turbo sees any problems.

this is a good comparison, I was debating the two because I like that they both offer 8 passenger seating and seeing that the traverse is the same interior basically ill save money and get that! Plus its easier to enter and exit

Great comparison of the 2 different engines in each model. Sunroof/Panoramic roof is a total waste of good money in a cold or hot weather country which is most of the USA 🇺🇸. FYI Suggest that you do the Decibels test somewhere between 55 to65 mph under normal driving conditions & maintain silence during that test period .Just a suggestion. I'm in the market for a new suv and these 2 were the only ones I was interested in until I test drove them. Not enough torque for my taste. I am now considering the Ford Expedition and the Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve with t he 5.7 hemi. Hopefully you have a review on those. Great review you just got a new subscriber!

Super Cruz, it’s only free for a little while to pay a monthly subscription, including Wi-Fi in your vehicle nobody needs that shit with your adaptive cruise. That’s all you need.

I live in miami and went to see a 1500 for work and asked about the new traverse and they are selling the ls and lt more with some preorders changing from lt to ls as they dont lose much at all compared to other yrs which had more differences between trims

I will NEVER trust supercruise, bluecruise whatever "self driving" computer system with me and my familys lives while at highways speeds. Just takes 1 small computer glitch for that wheel to turn suddenly going over 50mph for tradgedy. Why dont I trust it you may ask? This very thing happened to a family I knew. Im shocked vehicle manufacturers still make it available and self driving cars continue to be a thing.

I’m on the fence about buying a new Traverse instead of a Tahoe. My biggest concern is the power of the 4 cylinder engine. When you were driving the Traverse, did the engine feel like it was too weak to lug around the vehicle? Or did the engine feel powerful enough to enjoy driving the vehicle on a daily basis?

@ my local dealership can’t get in a Traverse Z71 for me to test drive. They’ve only gotten in one of the new Traverse’s, and it was sold before it got to the dealership. I really want a Harvest Bronze Traverse Z-71. Also…I rented a Tahoe, and it was too high in the air for my hound dog to jump into. So the Tahoe Z71 is definitely out.

No to AFM. it’s called DFM now and works much better. Less noticeable and can run on 7 6 5 4 etc cylinders. Not just 4 or 8.

Slower than the v6. But this powertrain is probably easier to drive due to the loads of torque at lower rpms.

This engine is based off the l3b turbo engine. That has proven to be pretty reliable. It isnt 2012 anymore.

I like it in that it still has traditional knobs for many functions which are better for not being distracted while driving, and probably better long term for reliability as well to be honest.

GM should be embarrassed about having the same damn HP and TQ output on the 5.3 and 6.2 for 10+ years now. The 6.2 still ok but is no longer king and the 5.3 should be called 5. Dog. Weakest 5 liter engine out

Depends on your perspective. Sure some power bumps would be nice, but exactly because they have just left them alone; means a 5.3 or 6.2 today should be very reliable. GM has had 10 years of real world testing now and they likely have all the issues worked out.

I don't see why GM should be "embarrassed". They're the only ones still offering V8's and a diesel in their full-size SUV's. Despite having no changes for over a decade, the 6.2L is still to this day the most powerful N/A V8 in the 1/2 ton truck segement as well. While everyone else is moving towards turbocharged 6 cylinders, GM continues to offer N/A V8's instead. GM is still doing well with this formula, and their sales numbers reflect that.

@@gonefishin3620I’ve got a brand new f150 with 2,000 miles on it with a check engine light for the powertrain/4wd. The gear shifter is not working, meanwhile my GMC Tahoe that has 18k on it with zero issues. The fords feel cheap, Toyotas having issues with motors. So what are you talking about.
