So far it’s awesome. The only issue really is the small nine inch screen on the top end versions.It appears that hasn’t changed. The power is plentiful. It’s quiet and rides very smooth. There are people that love one manufacturer and hate others so if you like something, do your own research and forget others opinions. I just hit 150,000 miles in my 2015 Equinox and of course I have put some money into it but most cars will cost you something extra after 100,000 miles. As this segment's third row seating competition starts to heat up, you shouldn't be measuring the third row seats legroom with the second row all the way back. That's unfair because it looks like this car's second row go back farther than most. You should put the second row seats back a set length from the first row every single review and then measure the third row seats leg room to the second.
@plmn937 ай бұрын
And also seat height. When I sat in the new Pilot I couldn't believe how low the seats were to the floor. At 6'3" in the front passenger seat my thighs didn't touch the seats because my knees were in the air. Instant dealbreaker that no reviewers ever mentioned.

As long as you know how to properly care for a turbo engine and don’t do anything heavy duty like towing at its maximum weight the engine should do all right. Personally though I prefer a good old fashioned naturally aspirated V6 or V8.
@hellkitty10148 ай бұрын
Long the comfortable, big jelly-bean of the class, Chevy obviously was tired of this being the "ok" option of the class. They really did a phenomenal job on the design, which is tricky because Chevy had to bridge a very thin thread on injecting sporty design but also not offend the core audience of who would by this vehicle. I LOVE the quasi-shrunken Tahoe/Silverado styling overall. The interior no longer feels like a penalty box(although aside from the larger screens, I wish Chevy would've gone even further. This is why Ford gave the Explorer and Aviator completely different themes, something GM should've done with the Traverse while also protecting the upper-crust Acadia)especially considering the environment of the other big CUVs of the class like JGC Summit, Hyundai Palisade, Kia Telluride, and Mazda CX-90, but it is super spacious with all of the required technology. While the reliability is still up in the air on a new platform, I think Chevy has a hit, especially considering the markups I'm seeing on Toyota Grand Highlanders. Just a couple of concerns for me: While I do appreciate more power, a 19/24 MPG is about what the new Ram Hurricane I-6 offers...on a full size pickup. Downsizing doesn't appear to have done the Traverse any favors. I also believe that is behind the more powerful and equally big Toyota GH HybridMax. I also believe Chevy should've at least considered bringing back the Premier variant, as many buyers would prefer the luxury without the RS's blacked-out theme(and red accented interior, mandatory)....and w/o the GMCs price tag.
@G-Rated8 ай бұрын
-Why would Chevy need a Premier trim when they have the upscale RS? These manufacturers are doing sporty blacked out trims because that’s what people want. Why “go further” with a Traverse RS from Chevrolet that’s not even a Premier or HC, when there are a total of 3 other models whom ALL of which sit above this Traverse within the parent company’s portfolio? (GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave, Cadillac VISTIQ). -The Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave, and the Cadillac VISTIQ all _do_ have their own separate themes and design philosophies. I’m not sure where you’ve been, but they look nothing alike. I think *gm* has done a very good job differentiating them from each other this time around. There’s nothing *gm* needs to learn from Ford nor Stellantis, especially not in this segment. Anybody that can afford an RS can afford an Acadia if it has the interior that they prefer. That’s the entire point of offering them all with small price overlaps.
@hellkitty10148 ай бұрын
@@G-Rated they need to go further/add a Premier trim because not everyone wants their interior to look like its a Pep Boys special as can appear with this RS trim. That's it. That's the story. **And yes, aside from screen orientation and slight trim differences, there isnt that large of a design difference between this and the Acadia. The Explorer and Aviator are completely different.
@G-Rated8 ай бұрын
@@hellkitty1014 Again as most people would agree this RS trim is beautiful. There’s no need for a more expensive Premium trim, that’s what the Acadia and Enclave are for. This blows the Ford Explorer and Durango with V6 out of the water in nearly every regard except high performance, which very few in this segment are shopping for. The GMC Acadia looks completely different inside and out except for switchgear, and the Buick Enclave is another step above that putting the Grand Cherokee and Lincoln Aviator’s interiors to shame. I think that’s why you’re really trying to pick at *gm.* There’s absolutely nothing *gm* needs to look back and “learn” from Ford or Stellantis, not in the luxury space nor the performance space. You can just hang that up.
@alonzalbrown18838 ай бұрын

This new traverse is nice. Especially on the outside, its bold and sporty. The tech is impressive. However the interior imo besides the tech is… dull. Its to dark for my taste even though the red accents add some flare, the competition offer brighter color options. I honestly think getting rid of the premier and high country trim levels was a missed opportunity because this already being 58 grand is already expensive so that means the new Acadia Denali is gonna be well into the $60k range especially with the interior and all its materials and features that will be throwing in.

There are no definite concerns, people are just brand snobs and base everything else gf of brand perception. This is no reason why this motor built specifically to improve upon the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 won’t be reliable. This 4 cylinder should be fine, apparently they know how to build them strong enough to qualify for a half-ton WT and be reliable. That should tell you something.

@G-Rated I was looking at traverse owner Facebook groups and reddits, that's where I found alot of unhappy traverse owners... not brand snobs, people who have bought the traverses over the years and say it's always one problem after the other.

@@99-Zulu I agree they’re capable of making good motors, the 2.7s you are right in so far so good, what I worry though is GM behind the scenes cost cutting these because these motors don’t go in half ton trucks, so I worry these are based off that engine but aren’t built to the same standards. They’ve done that kind of thing before.

Does the second row come back up with power? I only saw it go down.

It only an electronic release switch so you have to push it back upright

What can anyone say about the reliability of this new traverse? I hear older models had engine and transmission problems
@CarConfections8 ай бұрын
This is a new engine for Chevy although the transmission is used in other products

About your title - not sure in reliability, but in terms of styling and looks the highlander is a 2 and the traverse is a 10, hands down!

Will this be reliable long-term?I'm thinking of this when it comes out or a used 2020-2023 gx
@jakes55308 ай бұрын
The 2023 GX was recently ranked the number ONE most reliable vehicle on sale last year by Consumer reports. Cant beat that in terms of reliability. It’s also very boring and tiny compared to this traverse though.

Just checked Chevy’s website, an AWD RS starts at $58k?!? Jesus, I’ve been out of the car shopping game a while. That seems quite high, no?
@CarConfections8 ай бұрын
Yes, this is positioned at the top of the class in terms of price
@UrAvgCustomer8 ай бұрын
Not worth that kind of money. Better 3row options out there IMO

dealer mark up 😅
@jeffpayton66108 ай бұрын
@@demetrictucker1664 nah man that’s the price from Chevy. Markup would be on top of this.

Maybe swap the Santa Fe for this one

Cool design until you come upon the c-pillar and back to being amazed through the rear.

Not crazy about the shark fin side design and I'd never buy a 3 row family hauler (or full sized pickup, for that matter) with a 4 banger. Too much vehicle for too small and engine long term, IMO.
