I have to say that 4 minute speech by Jonathan made more sense than one hour of the pointless bickering between the two main Party leaders last night. Factually correct in all its details, there really is no money left. The likes of the dodgy PPE suppliers, the expensive Track & Trace system during Covid, the likes of Sunak making money out of taxpayers' losses, the Liz Truss 49 day disaster, her Chancellor who was effectively fined by HMRC for not paying enough tax, the list is almost endless. But the last comment, the simple fact there really is no money left now, is the truest fact of all. God Help whoever has to sort out this dreadful mess An excellent post by Mr Pie, I hope to hear more of the same over the next few weeks.

Not only is Sunak lying about Labour crashing the economy, Sunak himself played a personal role in causing the global financial crash, by being part of a team that caused ABN Amro to go into liquidation, and facilitating a deal for RBS to buy ABN Amro. This was the first part of the chain of events that caused RBS to go tits up, forcing the then Labour government to bail them out... EDIT: Posted before I'd watched the whole video. How Sunak got a multi-million pound bonuses as one of the Financial Directors when RBS went bankrupt is literally beyond me - what objectives did he halve to achieve to warrant this? Then to add insult to damage he goes on to be made Chancellor of the Exchequer with a failed background before becoming a token PM and sacrificial lamb for 14 years of economic mismanagement, destroying the NHS and allowing privatised companies ruij]n our waterways with sewage as raw as the crap that comes out of his mouth when not awarding govt contracts to companies his wife or daddy in law are in charge of. Labour have always been an improvement. The late 90s to mid 2000s were genuinely the healthiest and happiest the country had been. Everything just worked. Yes, we had a little national debt, but what country doesn't? Now that debt has more than tripled despite endless cuts, frozen pay, increased taxes, and increasing prices of everything we need to survive, and that was all before 2018.

Nearly all the biggest stories are uncovered by the mainstream media. Watergate was uncovered by Woodward and Bernstein. The clerical abuse scandal in Boston was uncovered by the Boston Globe. The Post Office Horizon/Fujitsu scandal came to light thanks to a journalist on Computer Weekly and the Private Eye team.

The truth is Labour did far more privatisation than the tories did through their PPP and PFI contracts. Everything from hospitals to car parks, schools to prisons and libraries were privatised under Labour. Well not exactly privatised, see the government sold the land and buildings, outsourced the cleaning and maintenance, outsourced our IT systems, HR systems, sold everything right down to the staff canteen. But kept the front of house staff, kept the management structures. So now we are stuck paying increasing rental obligations for buildings that are falling to pieces due to 0 maintenance investment and paying services contracts worth billions to companies like Mitie to send a minimum wage foreign worker round each night with a bucket and mop, having received no training for working in the specific environment in which they routinely work. It was Labour that sold off our public sector, it's been the tories that have increased public spending and increased the size of government. Now we face an election with Labour promising austerity and the Tories promising more spending. This whole government is a joke. We are not a serious country anymore, we are a glorified retirement village.
