Haven't they had 14 years though to fix things so that they can only get better? (Commenting while remembering the good old days of 2010 fondly, 2 years after the crash of 2008, just before the Tories got in, to mentally escape the dystopia of 2024...).

The truth is Labour did far more privatisation than the tories did through their PPP and PFI contracts. Everything from hospitals to car parks, schools to prisons and libraries were privatised under Labour. Well not exactly privatised, see the government sold the land and buildings, outsourced the cleaning and maintenance, outsourced our IT systems, HR systems, sold everything right down to the staff canteen. But kept the front of house staff, kept the management structures. So now we are stuck paying increasing rental obligations for buildings that are falling to pieces due to 0 maintenance investment and paying services contracts worth billions to companies like Mitie to send a minimum wage foreign worker round each night with a bucket and mop, having received no training for working in the specific environment in which they routinely work. It was Labour that sold off our public sector, it's been the tories that have increased public spending and increased the size of government. Now we face an election with Labour promising austerity and the Tories promising more spending. This whole government is a joke. We are not a serious country anymore, we are a glorified retirement village.
