First year doing archery and I killed my first bull 5x5 in CO. Running a prime ronan bow, slick trick heads on victory TKO arrows. Shot him at 55 yards, 60 was my max i was comfortable wwith but weather conditions were good with little to no wind and he was broadside. Dan, just wanted to say thanks for the content! I got into archery about a year ago because I wanted to harvest a bull elk in my home state of Idaho. I immediately was drawn to Elk Shape and MFJJ because I am a tinkerer and want to do everything myself. I learned so much and this September harvested my first bull elk, a nice 5x5. One of my next goals is to make it to one of your camps, in the meantime I’ll be watching all the new videos. Thanks again!

Just want to let you know I tackled my first DIY elk in Colorado this last week. From your hunt and fitness tips all the way to arrow and bow tips was all I consumed for the last 5 months. I was successful enough to get out of there with a legal bull and am hooked! Couldn’t have done it without the education gained from your channel! Thank you

Im trying the new sevr hybrids this year too for whitetail. Pretty excited to see the results. I travel ebery year as well for whitetail. Only because i live in the literal worst state for hunting. (VERMONT) The only good game to hunt here is turkey. But kansas is my main state. My family and friends have 4 leases there.

I’ve used contractor bags for years to pack out meat with. Also, if you skin your animals from the belly side down to the backbone you can use the flesh side of the skin as your tarp to keep meat clean. Been doing it this way since I was a kid. Tried skinning from the backbone down to the belly once and that is actually much harder to do. I’ve been a butcher for close to 34 years now and always skin animals from the belly down to the backbone.

Watched all your stuff and it all helped. First ever bow hunt was a failure (and on Colorado elk at that) but that's on me. I know you say if you can get a backup bow. I bought a flagship and was careful till Murphy's Law came rearing its ugly head. I broke my string and lost all kinds of parts, no backup. I would almost wonder if I should have just bought 2 budget bows and set them up so I had a backup bow. I won't give up just gotta save up to fix my bow and then save and buy a backup. Anyway love the content and hopefully be slinging arrows again in a few months.
