I own this car (2024 500e - white version) and I love it. I named the car "Stella". The 500e was designed to be a city car. It's not an SUV, pickup truck, or luxury sedan, and it's not a long-range commute car. It's fun to drive, and it can park in tight spaces that all the giant SUVs cannot. Having had 2 Honda Fits previously for many years (which I also loved), I can say the seats in this car, and the overall ride, are much more comfortable. The cargo area is smaller than the Fit but with two adults in the front, and a kid or dog in the back, with one seat down, the Fiat 500e can still fit a lot of groceries or stuff in the 500e trunk area. And as far as a Frunk is concerned, why is that even necessary? This is not an untested car. The newly designed Fiat 500e has been available for a few years now in Europe and is extremely popular there. This is why I felt comfortable taking the plunge and buying one when they became available in the US. If you want a big, heavy vehicle that can fit a ton of people or cargo, or that can drive a huge distance in a single charge or tank of gas, this car is not for you. If you want a small city car that is not built in China (looking at you, electric Mini), that has a ton of personality and is fun to drive, that you can quickly charge and not use gas, consider the Fiat 500e.

I live in an area with a lot of EVs as third cars with SUV(s) or truck if they have horses. Most have solar and have a stand alone substation at least 30 feet away from any structures in case it decides to have a "thermal event." I would park/charge one in an open carport or breezeway, but never an enclosed garage. I own cars going back to the 40s and treat them the same way. They are in a detached garage with a sprinkler system. But being ICE, a fire from them would be easier to extinguish.

I love Fiat 500s, I've had two of the gas ones. But this is just not competitive in the American market. Since it doesn't qualify for the tax credit, it's basically comes out to be the same price as a Tesla Model 3. The Model 3 is still a relatively small car, but has 2 or 3 times as much range, access to NACS rapid charging, better performance, more storage, easier availability to buy, etc. Also it looks like the Fiat 500e is just built on the same platform as the old one, which goes all the way back to 2007. It looks like a bunch of those interior parts are the same SKU as the ones from the outgoing generation.

This car is made for european cities, where there is no space to move, no place to park, small corridors instead or streats and no open roads to run. 500 e perfecta

was appealing when it came out in Europe a while back. Makes less sense in US, but still a good commuter. The Kia EV3 is coming soon, and has loads more room, better comfort, and 267 miles of range for the same price, or 372 miles for $5k more.

Right away I knew this reviewer was going to unfairly bash this new 500e with that toy car at the beginning of the video. And how dumb to say 141 miles of range is short when this small car already has a tiny battery. Other auto reviewers were more positive than this guy.

Really like the idea of City EV, not a lot of range and enough range to get you from point A to B and back. Have an i3 with a 153 miles range and it’s just right for daily commute and get groceries.

I saw the first new-generation Fiat 500 shown as a concept car in Europe, probably around 2010, and I recall that it was a few inches longer in the rear, with a more squared-off roofline (similar to a Mini Cooper). It looked not only more practical for rear seat and cargo space, but the design actually looked better - more balanced and functional. Fiat just doesn't grasp that this tiny, cute car won't cut it in America, BEV or otherwise.
