GR Corolla: 1. Anyone tired of reviewers comparing the base Core GR to the other offerings and hearing that it looks less upscale? Get the Circuit for comparisons please. 2. GR side vents are to “make it LOOK a little more aggressive”….WHAT?! EVERY SINGLE VENT on a GR Corolla is FUNCTIONAL. That can’t be said for the others. 3. GR Circuit actually carries the leather seating to the back seats too….not type R 4. Reliability ratings by company says the golf R is actually the worst and most expensive choice here. 5. When wanting a sports car experience, larger vehicles lessen the experience. The civic is now as large as my ‘14 Accord V6 coupe - not sporty.

I have driven but the GRC and the Type R - the GR Corolla is my pick personally between the 2. I have never driven the Golf R.

Golf R (most comfortable daily driver and best for long trips but haptic controls are annoying) or Civic Type R (best front wheel driver ever and shifts, handles perfectly). Btw, you mentioned rev-matching with the Corolla but all 3 cars here have that feature.

Man the GR Corolla Core in the states seems very low rent on the inside compared to the Australian spec model. - Storage on rear of front leather seats - Soft touch plastics and leather on doors - dual zone climate control - heated front seats - better seat materials front and rear - vented hood. - high gloss black front grill and rear valance (diffuser) for $41,269.44 USD (driveaway)

For me it’s the Golf R. A close second would be the Civic Type R. I wouldn’t get a Corolla. I like modding my cars, and I just don’t think the 3 banger in the GR Corolla could handle the power that the other two can. Another reason I’m choosing the Golf R is VW’s DSG transmission. Probably the best auto transmission outside of Porsche. Yeah stick is Awesome! No doubt, but when you’ve been a professional truck driver rowing your own gears in the truck, then in your personal vehicle for over a combined million miles in the last 10 years shifting gets old. I want to experience that DSG! I just wish you could’ve planned the comparison better to show more of each vehicle, then take all three for a proper back country drive. That said, still a good video. I own a FL5 and love it. My next pick would be the GR Corolla (Circuit Edition) which I hope to add to my collection within a year. The VW Golf R doesn't excite me in any ways and will not be a car I ever own.

For me, every time I see one of these comparison videos, it makes my choices harder and angers me bc I am reminded each one either has something I like or dont like that I cant seem to get past but thats just on me. Bought a 2024 Lapiz DSG Golf R and had it delivered end of Jan this year. Already been to the dealer 3 times - headlight replaced already and a ton of software issues.. Love the car too bad VW are build so poorly

I chose the Golf R because it’s the most comfortable and easiest to live with as a 35yo dad. The interior is really nice and actually has soft upscale feeling leather seats along with heated and cooling features. The infotainment works really well and isn’t a problem if you are tech savvy. If you aren’t, you won’t like it. The car is definitely quick in a straight line and will definitely beat most other stock cars on the street if you get the DSG. I’ve surprised a lot of Mopars, Mustangs and Camaros etc. from a dig. The CTR definitely looks cool, but I wasn’t looking for a track car to daily. I’ve also had my fair share of fwd performance cars and I’m just not into it anymore. The GR looks super aggressive (in person) but the interior looks like a regular Corolla interior to me. Either way, it’s all subjective and you can’t go wrong with any of these cars, they are all really good in their own right. Also my 2024 Golf R came with a revised engine cover, so VW did remedy that issue. 😅

Type r n integra type s... a hot batch should always be a manual I'm glad they done even offer it and the tlx type s is dope too. And anyone whose driven one can admit even being front wheel drive they made it so perfect it will grip and its just more fun unless you sit in stop n go traffic almost everyday

Golf r looks more settle and mature, rides better, modes are fun, leather is more sticky and high quality, quite on highway, super sleeper look and most people don’t know what is golf r and they think it is FWD and thinking they can smoke it anytime which makes it very fun to easily smoke its competitors and some heavy V8s. I have a 2024 golf r, loving it, amazing AWD, don’t like the sound of it, don’t mind the touch buttons, dsg is crazy, if you know, you know.

Just a small correction. Handling is the CTR best attribute, is better than the Golf R. For that reason the Golf R is behind in terms of track performance compared to the R.
