I have 350 miles on mine, and I can confirm that power delivery and transmission get better after break in (300miles per Honda). I did replace the grips, but chose the wrong kind so I have to choose again in the spring. The brakes have always been impressive to me, but I’m a brand spanking new rider, so… I love my NX500 for commuting, but I have not been brave enough to do over 60 on it yet. Crosswinds are scary here. I would probably choose a different seat if I were touring, but an hour on the stock seat is fine. Slow speed drills are difficult for me because the throttle is so touchy, but I will keep practicing til it’s easy! In a straight line, however, slow speed is super easy because it is so well balanced! I don’t totally flat foot with both feet, but all I have to do is tuck a hip and my left foot is flat, and it doesn’t take much effort to keep upright at a stoplight. I LOVE my bike, how nimble and simple it is, plus 60+mpg.

I have a cb300r and it's about 320lbs and the cross-winds were bad here as well but my bike is nearly 100lbs lighter than yours... so I can whole-heartedly tell you, you get used to it. I have taken my little cb300r to about 80mph.

Boring to non-owners maybe. As a road based bike on 17" wheels, 25NM more torque, meaty torque just off idle, low centre of gravity, 4000rpm at 130kph(80mph), the 500 will be eating it's dust. .....just saying. Cheers all from New Zealand

I had a 2018 CB500X as my first bike. If I was going to buy something similar as my first bike, I think I would go with the NC750X. I only put about 600 miles on the CB500X before I got bored of it and sold it. I think the NC750X with the extra torque would have had a longer lifespan in my garage and still would have been a good starter bike.

Got a 22 cb500x with 10k miles. Even though this is a newer model, this is a spot on review. Love the bike, needs more power, but it just makes you happy to ride. Get it!

Had the option to wait on the NX but went with the 2023 CB because I like the design better lol. Otherwise, it's 95% the same, just with extra tech on the NX

I have 5000 on mine It’s a great ride On the highway 82 mph is sweet spot City it’s fun This is not a racer I’ve worked on getting it peppier and it’s a little better Do not ride over 100 on this

I wonder what they changed on that engine cause I have it in my 2013 CB500F an my engine is very smooth with no vibration up to 85mph. Maybe it's the 16 tooth sprocket I put up front. I use mine as an everyday commuter 😎

What u want to compare? NX is great road (mainly city) bike. CF is off road oriented (annoying loud exhaust). Unfortunately NX is for small guys only.

Typical Honda fashion, making a bike with an identity crisis. It's a commuter bike disguised as an adventure bike. If you're gong to make a 500 adventure bike why not lean into the "adventure" part? Give it spoked wheels, real off road suspension, trim it down so it weighs less. If they did what Yamaha did with the tenere but in a 500cc package it would be a home run.
