I drove the dct and manual car back to back. The dct is a little quicker in a straight line, the dct shifts quicker and keeps the turbo on boost during acceleration runs.. the NGS button is a cool feature. manual remains the more engaging drive for a purist and may prove the more reliable transmission in long term.

I have a 2024 Black EN DCT and it is a dream to drive. I flew out to Atlanta to get this car. The local dealers were selling this car before they got to the lot. I got lucky and found one with in minutes of the dealer putting it out on the web. Flew there next morning to get it. 600 mile trip back and I got 42 MPG in Eco Mode, which I didn't expect because the sticker said 23/24 MPG. On normal in Eco, I get 29/30 MPG in normal driving. The car is still very quick and sounds good in Eco and if I need some extra speed, I just hit the N button on the steering wheel. I am doing a bunch of custom mods, which i cover on my channel. I plan on taking it to the drag strip to see what I can do too.

I’ve owned multiple Type Rs and and Elantra N, the R is the better car but the N is more fun. It’s a really good car and I can’t wait for the next gen EN, should be even better. The things the EN does better than the R: seats, stereo system, exhaust

Thanks for sharing! It's great that Hyundai has decided to get into this type of market. It's in no way a volume seller for any brand, but having more affordable, enthusiast-grade vehicles is great for everyone.
@vjdfl53 ай бұрын
The seats and stereo are both better by a good margin in the FL5. Just about every review of the CTR talks about how they're some of the most comfortable seats in any car. And they are. I'd have to stop to get out in the EN on roadtrips fairly often, but can sit in the FL5s allll day. Not even close on comfort. They also both have a Bose sound system, but the EN only has 8 speakers vs 12 in the R. But I'm sure both are better than the FK8s system. The EN's exhaust blows the Rs out of the water for sure though.

@brhardi483263 ай бұрын
@@davidpark2509 headlights are a definite improvement but it still looks bad, and worst of all it manages to look bad from every angle. Hyundai needs to fire their entire design team. You can just tell this car, and almost every new Hyundai/Kia is not going to age well. 5-10 years from now its going to look even more ridiculous. Kia Stinger still looks nice after nearly 10 years but that was the last good looking korean design. Genesis are all "meh". It's a shame because they are putting out some really decent cars for the price. That's Hyundai/Kia/Genesis biggest problem is that every compliment you can give to them always comes with the disclaimer ".... for the price". Im not a fan of German cars especially the newer ones , their styling is moving in the wrong direction too but people with money will always pay for an M badge or AMG. N badge still has no respect or recognition.
@PRNTestDrive3 ай бұрын
Looks and styling will always be subjective. What you like may not be what I like, or James likes, or Victor likes. Hyundai may not make vehicles that work for everyone, but we appreciate that they take chances with their vehicle designs.

@@PRNTestDrive He has a point, nice front fascia, nice back fascia; but unnecessarily busy with the lines which is the reason I prefer the darker colors. Granted performance blue is unique and the white paint is good, but three tones and too much emphasis on those lines in the front end. And what is with those triangle indents in the side (on the door)?
