Travel this road fairly often, to get to IAG Performance. You should give them a visit, while you're in town! Fun fact: at 4:47, that driveway and house on the left is Cal Ripken Jr's house.

Nice overview video. It was so refreshing having you ignore the "entertainment" screen. Too many reviewers obsess over the "flash" and minimize what is needed to just drive the car, i.e., the front of driver screen.

From my experience with Hyundai/Kia EV's is that they undershoot their range estimates. When I was driving the Kia EV6 AWD I got 4.0 KWH. Even though it's rated for 3.2 KWH. What that essentially means is that its more efficient than what its rated for.

I'm still on the fence with my 2025 vehicle -- have a 2022 Kona Limited ICE now too -- all depends on cost as Tesla Y gets full $7500 tax rebate while Hyundai/Kia do not!

The current Kona EV has 291 pound feet of torque. They definitely downgraded the power a lot for this year.

I see the 2023 is only available in select states. Will that also be the case for the 2024? In Michigan here, and would definitely give it consideration. I see it as a nice Bolt alternative now that they aren't being made, for not much more money in the base trim.

I find the doom and gloom about EV’s to be exaggerated. Once these performance EV’s take off (whoever develops an “affordable” one first) all the ice guys will end up like the manual purest. It’ll just be a different audience that comes into the scene. We all know that specs outweigh driving dynamics. People will throw that “soul” and “feeling” stuff out the window once they see those performance numbers.

Agree to disagree. It might be fun at first, but not long term. People will never get over the lack of feeling of an EV car long term. Just the fact there isn't a manual option is enough to drive most people away, let alone not having any "soul" to it, for lack of a better term. People love the visceral sound and feeling of an exhaust note, the vibrations etc. EV's are "dead inside", completely silent.. it's the most dull thing ever, for an automotive lover that wants a fun performance toy. EV's will never be that. Tesla Model S already exists and no performance lover is itching to be able to buy one of those. They make for a good daily driver and that's it, period. Progression and innovation is a good thing. EV's are a good thing.. but not for a performance toy.

I’m tired of people always complaining about range. 261 miles is more than enough if you don’t travel a lot. If you intend on taking long road trips or if you drive a lot, don’t buy an EV. They’re not ready for that yet.
