Tested both FWDJ7 and Tiggo7Pro. Practically the same feeling to drive. Design-wise, T7P is more conventional while J7 is more modern and futuristic. To me, I would take the 15k premium hit for the J7, however, I would take T7P steering wheel switches any day of the week. Hate the flat “touch” feeling of the J7 steering switches.

Any difference in the refinement of Jc7 over T7p? Does jc7 somehow feels luxury apart from the looks?
@MH-is7eu2 ай бұрын
@@jeffreytendahal2159 honestly they feel about similar on surface level, especially how it drives, but if you look/feel/experience it closer (refinement), J7 feels much more luxurious as it intended, especially the double wishbone suspension at the front and bigger IHU to name a few. But like I said, generally they are about the same, but those small differences makes it worth the premium I guess. Apart from the sexier exterior body.

I just did a short test drive on this car, and it was exactly as you described. The take-off from rest is a little strange as you don't feel an instant connection between throttle position and engine response. The Sony sound system is powerful but lacks quality. I would also add that the controls on the steering wheel were not illuminated in the daytime, but maybe that is a setting problem. Otherwise, I was very impressed with this car, and it is definitely on my shortlist.

At default EQ settings the speaker don’t sound special l. But once EQ’ed (more frequencies and dynamics can be adjusted than BYD’s) it sounds better than BYD’s Harman Kardon sound system.

Pacific Rim theme song snippet is a nice touch 👍🏻👍🏻 Shame about the name coming across sounding seriously dumb. They should have placed more effort on the brandname, honestly. It sounds like a Romanized Chinese word more than a portmanteau of Jaeger and Cool.

It’s definitely a looker. And priced really competitively too. The brand needs some time to inspire confidence and i think chery is on their way to do exactly that. The chinese love their funky and strange name tho, jaecoo 😂. Why not just jaeger lol it’s more elegant. It’s like one of those many many weird named smartphone that came from china. I suspect the 4wd will go well into $200k as it seems SG version is a HEV where it be switched between pure EV mode and HEV mode.

what you describe is TURBO LAG. a little bit more rpm, and it spoools the turbo.
@peterg3365Ай бұрын
@naga2015kk It's certainly got turbo lag, but the last 8 cars I have owned have all had that. This is more than just turbo lag.
@naga2015kk25 күн бұрын
@@peterg3365 finally I got to test drive the car, yes you are right, its a strange lag. Perhaps an engine control thing they designed in software. No,its not turbo lag. I don't like the rear view window. It looks too narrow. also strangely the side mirrors have very limited adjustment. Even the salesman thought it was stuck.....

also the width of the truck CAN'T fit a golf bag length wise. So its a no go for me.....too bad.
@peterg336525 күн бұрын
@naga2015kk Yes, I forgot to mention the mirrors, I sit quite far back and the driver's mirror wouldn't adjust to my position. The interior rear view mirror is convex, so combined with small rear screen, it is pretty useless.

Honestly, the J7 isn’t that big. The CR-V is larger and most variants use a 1.5T with less power/torque 👌🏼
