There are some hot deals on these now in Central Florida. I’m not seeing advertised factory incentive’s but dealers appear to be slashing MSRP to get showroom traffic. Obviously high interest rates are causing slow sales and overstocks everywhere and there is a lot of competition. I think Jeep did a great redesign on this. I’m looking for a base Laredo mainly because I don’t want a panoramic roof in Florida. It’s just too hot. I want steel and insulation. I don’t expect blowout discounts on base Laredo models, dealers have more room to bargain on pricer trim. I do have a question, please. I noticed GC models with a spare in the interior well, and another with the spare mounted underneath the vehicle, with the lowering mechanism in the well. If you recall, did you happen to notice any difference on the base and the “L” version for the tire mounting. I haven’t had a chance to visit a dealer on these. I wanted to get my facts together first. Thanks again.

I had the Altitude package with the blackout. It was that lovely StingGray color and I named her Stormy. I replaced my GC with a Ford Bronco Sport and I’ll say that I’ve had it for 2 years and I’m going back to a GC next year. The two don’t compare. I feel like I’m driving a tin can, so it has to go. At a quick glance, you can tell it’s the Summit Reserve and not the Summit because the former all have the “honeycomb” styled rims and are a little shiner. Don’t know why they moved the wiper stalk to the right side: as I jump from my WK to my WL , when it’s begins raining, I have to look, as opposed to muscle memory. Nice review for someone not overly familiar with the new body style.

The older Grand Cherokee models were pretty tight in the rear especially in the footwells. Sitting behind a taller person meant your feet got caught under their seats. That would be my concern if I bought a 2022-2025 Grand Cherokee.
@rarelibra11 күн бұрын
Jeep used to offer a lot of things as standard on the Limited trim model. They have tossed that to the wayside in favor of greed. The rearview mirror, for example, on the WK2 Limited had homelink, auto dim, etc. The mirror that comes on the Limited for the WL model is now a 20-year old manual dim. That's it. Oh, you want the auto dim with digital rearview and homelink? Now you have to ADD the Tech II package to get that. Absolute bullshit. Same with the 2-speed transfer case option ... it came standard on the WK2 Limited, now the WL Limited is just AWD with the traction settings. These are just a few of the things ... they changed the front fascia/grill between the Laredo/Limited and the Overland/Summit. So if you WANT to install the tow hooks, for example, you would have to change the entire lower bumper cover and grill, etc. That is bullshit engineering.
@MOHAWKAUTO11 күн бұрын
@@rarelibra I agree that the amount of packages offered and the amount of features that are package locked is absurd. Jeep isn’t the only offender and manufacturers need to go the route of offering more as standard and the higher trims should truly have more and be exceptional
@rarelibra11 күн бұрын
@@MOHAWKAUTO this all happened after Covid ... the 2021 model was the last WK2, and the WL came out in 2022 with all of these weird package options. And you can't install an aftermarket autodim mirror with homelink because even if you know how to tap the map light to power it, you need the dealer to flash the ECU to use it. Here's another thing I noticed on my new WL ... I needed a tow package (instead of installing the OEM tow package like I did on my WK2) ... luckily I bought one with it ... I've heard some who thought the "tow prep" package was a tow package ... yeah, they should probably read (and actually LOOK at it like I did before buying) ... on the Overland models, there is a "tow eye" in the back that screws onto a thread hidden by the lower left "square" on the bumper. Does my Limited, which has a tow package, have that? NO. Why? Their logic is that you would use the hitch area instead. Just weird.
@rarelibra11 күн бұрын
@@MOHAWKAUTO and speaking of tow packages and such ... when I did install the OEM tow package on my WK2, it came prewired. VERY easy to do. Now, on the WL? Nope. You will have to buy a harness, install it, and then flash the ECU to use it. We had to do this on a friend's 2021 Cherokee Trailhawk... we had to run a harness, etc. Cherokee is not the luxury model like the Grand Cherokee ... just wondering why they are doing this, because it cheapens the Grand Cherokee name.

Awesome review!! I’ve learned that the new WL platform used for the Jeep Grand Cherokee is now based off the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. The Dodge Durango still uses the WK2 platform. I believe they may soon retire the proven Pentastar V-6 and use the Hurricane I-6 which I heard is suppose to be a very stout engine especially the High Output twin turbo. 💯🔥🤘🏽
@MOHAWKAUTO8 ай бұрын
I think they’re still going to offer a few engines with the hurricane being the higher end option. Although, they could offer just that engine in the standard and High Output option like they have in the past with the 4.7 V8 in the WJ platform.

the new wl grand c is a mixed bag for me. i do like the exterior design. i guess the cargo area is improved also with that . i also like the power lift gate and parking brake but thats about as far as it goes. the power train is smooth and quiet thanks to zf tranny but its under powered and outdated. you can get a two tone interior in the limited but the all black interiors in the laredo and altitude are abysmal. the piano black trim in the center stack is horrible. the rotary dial taking up space in the center is the worst in the industry. it is a comfortable, quiet, easy to drive, and somewhat affordable midsize suv in the lower trims. it is also cheaply made with some quality and reliability issues. i refuse to buy another car with a black interior bc im old and they are just to hard see anything. i wish i could put the old interior with a lighter color in the new body style about sums it up. maybe jeep will redesign some things, offer a second interior color in the upcoming mcr, as ford had to do to with the explorer. im more drawn to the two rows but i still wouldnt buy one. its really hard to find an affordable used or new suv without a black interior these days.
