Nice review. The missing shortcuts to nav and media are on the same screen as the air conditioning controls - It's dual function. You just touch one particular spot on that touch screen (about 2 inches from the left) and it switches between air con controls and nav/media - and the rotary knob on the left then becomes the VOLUME knob! You can have it that you just toggle alternately between Nav/media and Air Con - or you can have it that it switches back to one of the two screens by default after you have switched to the other. I have mine defaulting to air con which I tweak the most frequently. If I wanted to drop the volume via the knob (rather than the steering wheel toggle) i just go into nav/media mode and turn down the volume. after a few seconds it switches back to Air con. It's fairly easy to use once you know it.

Ive had the gt for a year now - best car ive ever owned - love it - you can also set the a/c / media to default back to one or the other - mine automatically defaults to air con and I use the shortcuts on the steering wheel wheel for media.

drove one of these when my car was in the shop. man was it fun to burn past people at red lights. it was quick too, really enjoyable to drive. only thing i didn’t like was having to charge it weekly, and the way the mileage would depend on the temperature outside. the aerial view when you put it in reverse was also awesome too.

As an EV6 owner I reckon it’s the Rocky Balboa of the EV world - an underrated champion. 3 years on it still looks fresh and still beats most other EVs as an all round package.

The GT was on another level and I wanted one of those even more than the std EV6, but I still didn't know enough about them. Having now watched your review, I definitely want one. I'll add it to my ever growing lottery win list haha! I think it has one of the best lookin back ends on the road...full stop! Yes, pretty cool indeed. Mega hats off situation to Kia once again 👏🏼

I've really liked this one since I first saw it. I've had a test-drive of the rear wheel drive one and that was quite impressive. Can you compare it to an iPace, if you've driven one?

I have this GT for one year and it’s the best car I ever had (and probably i’ll ever have). Before that I had an I-Pace, that I loved too but it’s too slow charging and unefficient. The EV6 GT is better on most things (performance, brakes, charging, efficiency, equipment, multimedia, price, reliability), equal for handling and confort, and less good for fit and finish, and steering, which was perfect on I-Pace.

Looking forward to the refresh coming soon (with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) with some cool changes coming! I wouldn't get one at this point since the refresh model will get some features of the Ioniq 5N and the choice between the 2 could get a lot harder...

When I got my company car, my allowance allowed me to get the MG4 and get a bit back, sadly the EV6 asked me to put more cash in I could not do but boy I would get this if I could !!

Thanks, I have an EV6 the S line AWD and it is the best car I have ever owned, done 30000 miles now and still love it. I usually drive in ECO mode, sport mode is scary fast and not particularly friendly, very firm and instant throttle response can get you in trouble very rapidly, hard to imagine the GT mode, but it will appeal to many. I love the heads up display especially the sat nav heads up info. I agree Kia and Hyundai (both same group) are way ahead of many others

The MG4 X-Power is very affordable but ever inch of it is cheap, with the brakes that are bordering on dangerous. Its feels cheap to drive, with its budget suspension and seats. At least the Kia EV6 GT is well engineered, from front to back.

@DefinitelyNotAGuru definitely. To be fair, in 20k miles, my GTLine AWD only occasionally felt overweight-always in an enthusiastic wet roundabout moment! I'd like more steering feedback, which would give me more confidence. That applies to almost every modern car.

The lower spec EV6 suffers with 12v battery going flat so would be surprised if the same didn't happen. Kia call it user error. It won't allow doors, bonnet etc to be left open for more than 15 minutes. Not much good as a family car where you need to load up with child seats etc.
