2023 was a tough year for language learning and I definitely did not accomplish the goals I had set for myself. In this video I reflect on why I struggled so much with language learning in 2023 and share my language learning goals for 2024 - with a big change in how and what I learn.
Videos you might like:

I like how you're honest about how much you can handle and you place those boundaries for yourself. I myself have had to do the same thing recently. It's hard to have to put certain languages on the side when you have a lot of things going on with university, but it's really impossible to take on everything (at least without driving yourself insane!!!). I myself, for now, am only focusing on 2 languages and am even being pretty flexible with that!!! Wishing you the very best this 2024✨

Great reasonable decision 😊👍I've changed my channel's name many times, but i was that guy who would tell you things like: "Too many languages." "If you ever want to quit a language, quit Spanish." "Spanish is much easier than Japanese and Spanish is already too complicated because it has too many conjugations." "Comprehensible Input is just an strategy to make people PRACTICE their target language." "People only get languages by studying, even if they enjoy it and don't even realize they are actually STUDYING."

Veel succes! Nederlands is een goed idee omdat het redelijk makkelijk is voor een Engels spreker :)

Love this video and how reflective you are :) I was planning my 2024 language goals and I was seriously getting overwhelmed with my usual problem - too many languages too little time!! I decided that I can only realistically have one main language that I can focus on. Cool to see that you came to same conclusion! All the best for your language and personal goals for 2024!

you go on your iphone and you go to the journal app and you write what you learned that day. That is "tracking"

Interesting to come from your refold criticism video where you're criticising them for saying how it needs to be fun, only to come to this video and seeing you using refold in clips (for korean at least) and saying that your language learning needs to be fun. Anyway, maybe I missed it in this video, but what happened with your n1 exam?

Hello, I am not against Refold as a whole, but was just trying to point out their shortcomings in my criticism video. I am (or at least was) a pretty active member of the community for quite some time. I ended up not going to the N1 exam, because I didn't feel I could pass anyways, so I used the day to study for school exams.

I didnt know about your Dutch days so all of my guesses were wrong. In 2023 I passed the JLPT N4 in July and took (still waiting for the results) the JLPT N3 in December. My 2024 goals for Japanese is to continue studying as usual wih the intent of N2 in December, try to read a light novel or two, and to take more speaking classes. All the best with your degree and your language learning goals.
