I needed to make the fan go higher, or to adjust the temperature, because there was no other way to do it. @kamX-rz4uy7 ай бұрын
@@TheSalPic If it's cold out I want to get toasty first and if it's hot then sometimes a blast of cold is good. Also depends on clothes. For example, if I have a heavy coat on then I'd want to lower it more once I'm warmed up so I don't get sweaty. Do you also just go with what vents the car decides to use? Two of my cars are Subarus and for some reason they think cold air should blow on you and heat should go to the floor. In the dead of winter I want it to warm up my hands first. Full blast from the dash then I'll switch to dash plus floor. Also if it's sunny out while the car is parked and the inside temp gets higher than the set temp that doesn't mean I want it to blow cold air on me after I just got out of the cold. The recirc button is also important. When skunk is in the air every millisecond counts. And having heated seat buttons in a sub menu is also annoying. Thankfully Subaru corrected that. In spring and fall I probably adjust the hvac much less, although all bets are off when my wife is with me and tries to roast me.

@@kamX-rz4uy I don’t know how y’all deal with winters So when I want a more immediate change, I’m taking advantage of heated seats and steering wheel. and I agree that those kind of things should never be hidden in a bunch of menus. Because that’s something you’re not going to want all the time but when you need it, you need it quickly. The system in my palisade ( I know ) tend to react quite quickly to what the temperature is when you first turn on the car. If it’s hot, you turn it on and you’re getting full blast ac. It also will turn recirculated air on and off automatically.

Sounds like they should leave it in the Chinese market with those dynamics and offering a top tier CVT in a $70k 4000lb sh*tbox

Did you Google why? Their Lincoln Aviator, Corsair, and Navigator are still built here. The old Nautilus was built in the Canadian plant that made the Edge. Ford planned to switch it to an EV SUV, so they turned to China for the new Edge platform there. (Now that plant is switching to truck production). Not like they’re moving all to China.

One of my former co workers says he dealing with issues on that panoramic screen daily on customer's vehicles. I see they still haven't got the "driver's car" feeling still but I was always told that wasn't who they were after.

Good-looking vehicle-- one of the best out there, give me 80% less screen, a regular dash, a regular shifter and some semblance of a dynamic suspension and we're good!

This whole screen thing in vehicles is going too far. I'm starting to get annoyed by it. I want to drive a car, not a TV.

Seems mad to have a row of transmission selection buttons but the HVAC is on the screen. It does look like one of the better screen designs, but that's damning with faint praise.

Rather than the gimmicks, I think Lincoln should focus on reliability and build quality.

I wonder if they will advance the technology for the refresh by adding a giant 70-inch screen on the top of the roof (facing the rear) so everyone behind you can see all of your instagram posts, audio selections, etc

I thought the EDGE was on a Fusion platform that evolved from a Mazda 6 platform. The Lincoln Corsair uses cast aluminum control arms at the rear, very different from what the Escape uses, even though they are platform mates.

You are correct.. Edge was CD6 and this is CD2. the new Edge and Edge-L in china are CD2 though.

I’ve always wanted maps and speed to be in line of sight. This is a design that should have happened decades ago. The Prius 2nd gen was good with speed sight. But otherwise looking down or right to see maps or speed is shit. And HUD is inconsistent. Anyway, my favorite thing about Lincoln is anyone can afford one after a year. There’s already a 2022 Lincoln going for $14k by me and only has about 60k miles. My family has had many used Lincoln’s that for some reason last ten times longer (hyperbole but you get the picture) than their original ford counterpart yet offer more than ford.

If I was looking for a mobile sound system, this would make sense, but it's silly to choose this over Genesis for everything else.

This video is so majestic with that Bach background music. I have never heard a B&W audio system in cars, but I hate their home audio speakers so much due to the annoying and unnatural brightness. They are so disgusting that I feel my ears will just start bleeding. It is also a pretty similar story with Focal. They are made for people that hate the music and love the torture. I'm an audiophile and always like warm or neutral speakers, like Sonus Faber, Haberth, Kef or Dynaudio, powered by McIntosh, Pass Labs or Accuphase. According to your description, that Revel system seems to march my audio taste.

All of these cars these days - no matter who is making them - where the focus is on the screens and not the driving experience - will look as outdated as an abacus in 2 years. Nobody will think its "cool" in the very near future. It'll look as relevant as an outdated smartphone in a very short amount of time.

Test drove this - I thought it was overpriced for what it is. The screen is impressive and it is a comfortable ride. But it should be $8-10K less based on what it competes with.
