I bought a 2024 Lincoln Nautilus. I'm having a problem with the rotors. Rusting the car just sits overnight and rotors. Rust when you drive it down the road. And press the brake. It sounds like chalk going across a blackboard. I feel it's unsafe.& Lincolin won't correct the problem for me this could be a big problem on salt roads & brake down brake pads .

That's the sad part. Lincoln sales are growing in China while the opposite is happening in it's home market 😅. China is also a major market that kept Buick alive. And honestly the fit and finish looks a lot better than the old Canadian built nautilus. I've seen so many of the older mkx/nautilus models with gaps in the center console wood trim or upper center channel speaker grille sits crooked to one side.

@attinsona

The Explorer is on the RWD CD6 platform, whereas this is on the Global C2 platform that's used for the Escape, Bronco Sport and a whole lot else. This is similar to what Lexus is doing with TNGA and making a commodity platform as luxurious as possible. It'll be interesting to see how the market responds. It feels like Ford's biggest issue isn't so much initial quality, but stupid defects that materialize after a few years.

@@kamX-rz4uy fascinating! To be fair I live in the south, where we basically only have one season, and that season is death hot so my experience might be a little skewed but even if you replace with actual seasons, maybe you’re fiddling with it more often but every time you drive? yeah before I had auto controls, I would fiddle with it because I didn’t have auto controls. I needed to make the fan go higher, or to adjust the temperature, because there was no other way to do it. But if you have a system with auto climate control why do you really need to fiddle with it once you have set your ideal temperature?
@kamX-rz4uy
@kamX-rz4uy 7 ай бұрын
@@TheSalPic If it's cold out I want to get toasty first and if it's hot then sometimes a blast of cold is good. Also depends on clothes. For example, if I have a heavy coat on then I'd want to lower it more once I'm warmed up so I don't get sweaty. Do you also just go with what vents the car decides to use? Two of my cars are Subarus and for some reason they think cold air should blow on you and heat should go to the floor. In the dead of winter I want it to warm up my hands first. Full blast from the dash then I'll switch to dash plus floor. Also if it's sunny out while the car is parked and the inside temp gets higher than the set temp that doesn't mean I want it to blow cold air on me after I just got out of the cold. The recirc button is also important. When skunk is in the air every millisecond counts. And having heated seat buttons in a sub menu is also annoying. Thankfully Subaru corrected that. In spring and fall I probably adjust the hvac much less, although all bets are off when my wife is with me and tries to roast me.
@TheSalPic
@TheSalPic 7 ай бұрын
@@kamX-rz4uy I don’t know how y’all deal with winters So when I want a more immediate change, I’m taking advantage of heated seats and steering wheel. and I agree that those kind of things should never be hidden in a bunch of menus. Because that’s something you’re not going to want all the time but when you need it, you need it quickly. The system in my palisade ( I know ) tend to react quite quickly to what the temperature is when you first turn on the car. If it’s hot, you turn it on and you’re getting full blast ac. It also will turn recirculated air on and off automatically.

Finally my point is made. People who complain that a lexus isn't "sporty", man have they not driven american cars from the 60's and 70's, let alone this thing or any other "modern" GM/American brand car. They still feel like they were made in the 70's suspension wise, and makes any lexus feel like a race car in comparison. Sit in a BMW from a lexus and you feel like "wow this thing is too stiff".

I don't think anyone shops for a midsize luxury suv based on how they handle. I chose a Lincoln Corsair because it was the most luxurious feeling of all the competitors. To be honest, msrp for Nautilus in the state is way too expensive. In China, this car is competing with X3, Q3, GLB rather than X5, Q5, GLE. So its staring pricing was actually at 40k rather than 50K (49,557$ for slimiar spec as tested in vid)... which was quite a lot of car for this amount of money. But unfortunately, it's still a hard seller... cuz at this price point is bit of awkward: because you can add couple grands for European if you fancy about the brand or can grab a top of the line Mid/Full-size SUV from local brands, which could provide simitar or even better experience (i.e a loaded, soft riding with nice interior people mover). So yea... Nautilus is bit of weird for what it is

(Which will be controlled from the remote control we are holding while reclining on our couch. )This Lincoln would actually put me to sleep. Maybe I can dream about CHI-EE-NAH while reclined.

Yeah I think the hybrid system in these is a joint effort from Toyota - I think Ford has been doing that for years with the Escape/Fusion hybrids too.

@@chynacash3138 so the first gen hybrid system 2004 to 10 was a Toyota hybrid system. The fusion and escapes had no issues going 200k to 500k miles in NYC taxis. The 2012+ hybrid system was Ford's in house design was a reverse engineer of the modern Prius. Large amounts of used hybrids with 200k plus miles.

Glad I picked up a Mazda before they too go down this ridiculous path of SCREENZ. Unless I'm listening to music, or need the nav - I usually have the screen off. It's still hard to believe that cel phone use is rightly banned, but large screen tv's are now in vehicles. We're supposed to be looking outside of our vehicles when we drive.

Friggin car companies! They are continuously trying to turn a car into a smartphone with wheels. I don't know about anyone else, but I am perfectly fine with using my Smartphone on speaker phone using a suction cup. And, believe it or not, I am athletic enough to roll up my own windows or lift a lever to move the seat. I get it! This is a Lincoln. People who buy Lincolns want luxury. They don't want to do anything physically, like step on a gas pedal or brake. But I'm just talking about car companies in general.

Watch out for screen separation! I’ve got a 2024 Lincoln Reserve III, it’s only three months old and I just noticed today that I can see that an ugly line that has now appeared between the two halves of the screen. I also see lines to the far left and right edges. The displays still work, but the illusion of a single screen has been shattered.

Just built one with a couple of medium packages and it is just over $80k (Canada). If I was buying a premium SUV, I'd just buy the BMW X3 M40i with the Premium package for about $600 more than the Lincoln, or a number of other options, many of which are less expensive and better in most ways.

@jeffer1101 7 ай бұрын
@@jacyedwards4452 Yes, I know the X3 is a bit smaller, but I just mean it's similar in price and a much better vehicle in every way. I'd gladly sacrifice a bit of size for a much better vehicle. I don't buy vehicles by the pound or volume. Perhaps that's how Lincoln thinks many will shop?

@@jeffer1101 That is subjective. I wouldn't consider an X3 better in anything but driving dynamics. Comfort, style, options definitely go to the Lincoln but that is more opinion than anything. Infotainment system is definitely more advanced in the Lincoln though.

Did you Google why? Their Lincoln Aviator, Corsair, and Navigator are still built here. The old Nautilus was built in the Canadian plant that made the Edge. Ford planned to switch it to an EV SUV, so they turned to China for the new Edge platform there. (Now that plant is switching to truck production). Not like they’re moving all to China.

I’ve always wanted maps and speed to be in line of sight. This is a design that should have happened decades ago. The Prius 2nd gen was good with speed sight. But otherwise looking down or right to see maps or speed is shit. And HUD is inconsistent. Anyway, my favorite thing about Lincoln is anyone can afford one after a year. There’s already a 2022 Lincoln going for $14k by me and only has about 60k miles. My family has had many used Lincoln’s that for some reason last ten times longer (hyperbole but you get the picture) than their original ford counterpart yet offer more than ford.

This video is so majestic with that Bach background music. I have never heard a B&W audio system in cars, but I hate their home audio speakers so much due to the annoying and unnatural brightness. They are so disgusting that I feel my ears will just start bleeding. It is also a pretty similar story with Focal. They are made for people that hate the music and love the torture. I'm an audiophile and always like warm or neutral speakers, like Sonus Faber, Haberth, Kef or Dynaudio, powered by McIntosh, Pass Labs or Accuphase. According to your description, that Revel system seems to march my audio taste.
