We went with what I think is the sweet spot trim: Turbo (non-S) Premium Plus. Nappa leather, 7 passenger seating with 2nd row captain’s chairs, Bose audio, larger screen, 360 cam, panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, heated 2nd row seats, memory seating, 21 inch wheels (same wheel as top trim just different color), auto-dimming power folding side mirrors, heated steering wheel, windshield wiper de-icer, automatic wipers and high beams, digital gauge cluster. Pricing falls right in the middle between the very base select and the top trim Turbo S Premium Plus. Still for those that don’t need the bells and whistles, that base trim is such an amazing value giving you a powertrain like that standard (turbo inline 6, mild hybrid, rear biased AWD). For 2025 the larger center screen and the digital gauge cluster is standard on all trims above the “select” trim.

I Love the comparison and SORRY if I'm being picky, I think you should have cleaned the base model up a bit, shine the wheels etc. it looks dusty! I would buy a used premium plus and avoid the extra $20K! Brilliant mind at work!
@MeynMotorGroup3 ай бұрын
Yea the owner is pretty lazy when it comes to washing cars 😅 and no real point in buying used. Always buy new with a discount. The discounted new price is what you end up paying in the used market with little to no warranty and with miles on the vehicle
@Whywhywhyw-c5l2 ай бұрын
The base looks tired and basic vs the premium plus looking shiny and expensive.
@salimrandall3 ай бұрын
I'd get the CX-90 loaded if it was used 3-4 years old. By then depreciation will turn that $21,000 onto $5,000-$7000. Then you might as well treat yourself. But new I'd go mid trim.
@MeynMotorGroup3 ай бұрын

I would be happy with the base. Just buy some new all weather/all terrain tires and your good for snow. You also have different brands of tires. Toyo versus Yokohama, so they will react differently and handle differently as well. Also that caramel colour interior is prone to staining easy with blue jeans or black jeans/work pants.

I got the top trim PHEV its more expensive than the signature but its true not as luxurious as the signature /premium plus inside. Doesn't have all the features, doesn't have the maple wood trim or aluminum bezels. Its essentially a GT-P but has the hybrid system. I got it for the 2.5L engine because its a low risk long time use engine from mazda vs the inline 6. Not sure how good their hybrid system is but so far so good. The car is heavier but quicker off the line than the inline 6 premium plus.

Love the top trims w/ the tan interior, BUT it is a lot of money to pay on top for mostly the same car. The problem is the 19" rims and the big thick swaths of black plastic cladding really scream base model. There is a mid-tier version (GT version in Canada) that gets the 21" rims but they're all silver, not painted black w/ machined faces (i think this trend has to die soon anyway). So it doesn't look super base model... Base model I-6 is fine because 90% of the time you're going to be running 87 octane anyway.

I disagree with your comment on the PHEV. I drove all 3 and the PHEV gave me the smoothest ride. I would not touch the cheaper detuned Base models and the PHEV is just as fast as the Inline 6. Redline reviews have that comparison. If you are financing you might as well go for the highest and best so that your trade-in value in the future is higher which is what I always do. Nobody buys a car to keep anymore.

Don't know what world you live in. "Nobody buys a car to keep anymore". Well good for you buying the most expensive and replacing it every 3yrs or whatever. Not everybody is in good financial condition like yourself, plus a car is a depreciating liability. I'd rather spend my money on assets
@KidFragrance2 ай бұрын
I prefer to go for the higher trim PHEV, which is not shown in the video, as most people in the US finance or lease their vehicles and trade them anywhere from 3 to 5 years. I don't follow this practice personally, but it's a common market trend. This is a different question compared to the appreciation of assets. I can speak to the higher trim PHEV because I own one. 😎👌

@@mavricxxI always buy cars for keeps....until I am ready to try in after 10+ years when the repair cost does not add up. Unless money is not an issue for those folks, you be paying 50% of the car value for the 3 years you lease, not to mention the higher insurance cost. But if money is not an issue, why would you even consider a Mazda CX-90 and not the BMW X7 or Benz 450.
