I got used to the shifter fairly quickly. A big advantage of this setup is being able to execute 3-point turns quickly without having to look down to make sure you're not shifting into Park.

Touchscreen is nice to have but electronics don't last in winter climates so rotary dial is perfect. Don't change what ain't broke.

I personally love the dial my screen stays clean and it worked pretty well I never listen to the radio so looking through the stations isn’t a problem.

this is an extra ordinarily good looking car. I love BMW X5, but those are so common these days... this is novelty. And I just love this design language.

His comments on the radio issue is purely user error. There are so many faster ways to do what he was attempting to do. It almost seemed like he was trying to make more of a task than it needed to be.

The radio seek buttons are on the steering wheel. Very easily found without looking down from the road.

It surprises me that auto reviews go on rants about stuff that they have done zero research for. I feel like Neanderthal mentalities are the only people that don’t like Mazdas UI. Meanwhile at the launch event, the engineer said you could make it full touch screen deep in the menu settings. Must touch screen grrrr!!!

I notice in many reviews that the "volume" behind the front seats seems to be the only important factor. As retirees (we seldom have more than 2 people in the vehicle) by far the only important dimension is the length from the back of the front seats to the rear hatch door. We both ride recumbent trikes and need a minimum of 85" to put them both in without having to fold them (which is a REAL hassle and is the reason we disposed of our X5). The Mazda CX-90 works perfectly for our trikes whereas most SUV's are too short even though they boast more overall storage volume. The GMC EV Hummer is too short for instance. I do think it would be nice if these reviews were based on the kind of packages being carried rather than strictly on the volume of the space.

I am driving Mazda6, and I prefer the rotary dial to navigate through the screen and it's safe that driver/passenger doesn't get distracted with the touch screen.

After review the spec list, I actually think the sweet spots are the 40k Turbo Select or 52K Turbo S Base... Basically the base models of regular 280bhp engine or 340bhp high output...

Lane Centering (Cruise Control and Traffic Assist ) is available only on Turbo S Premium and above. Not in normal Turbo or PHEV versions

This Mazda CX90 inline six is a super luxury car eight-speed automatic transmission with 340 hp and 369 pound-feet of torque I liked the white paint metallic colour of Mazda did nice work in this segment overall is vehicle looks upscale thanks.

I've leased two CX-5 Turbo Sg's (...which I've loved) while awaiting the refresh/replacement for my much-missed 2016 CX-9 that initially drew me to Mazda. I prefer a larger platform even though, I literally only needed the 3rd row twice in the two years I owned the CX-9. Hence, I've been waiting on the 2-row CX-70. We're a D.I.N.K. household, so similar to @CollingwoodHarbour , our cargo area simply needs to handle a weekend antiques find and trips to Home Depot. But I do like the 90/70's added rear seat comfort for the 2-3 additional passengers we will regularly have. The fit and finish, materials and execution seem to have hit the mark! I have been really impressed by the reviews (and the mileage) of the PHEV, and have been looking forward to going electric (...at least partially). But one thing does concern me: it seems that even top-trim PHEV's only come with black plastic wheel arches...? Noooo... That's miscalculation. It's tolerable at $36k. But... above $60k, they need to finish painting the car. No joke. We've been a loyal dual-Mazda household since 2016. Hopefully, this is a mistake that can be corrected before the lease is up on my 2022 CX-5 Turbo Sg in early 2025.

Yeah, no I don’t recommend it because of that weird reverse and park situation so I actually shut off the car after I had it in reverse and then I forgot after I heard it going off like a maniac that I had to put it to the left before I could leave because it was telling me it was still in gear, but it was shut off

These are already being advertised at discount in my area which really says something about demand for an almost new vehicle in a segment when many competitors are selling above MSRP. They aren't going to outsell the Lexus/Toyota because they fall so far behind on third row and cargo space in a segment where practicality is important.

Love Mazda and currently have a 2021 CX-9 GT. I’ll say this…I was at the dealership recently and the lower trim preferred plus was meh. I wasn’t impressed to be honest and it felt quite cheap. If I was going to buy one it would be the Turbo S premium model but spending 60k on a vehicle is something I’m not willing to do. If in a few years they’re going for 35-40k used then I would definitely consider it. Also not one CX-90 at the dealership had the premier tow package, why? The increased towing capacity on the CX-90 is one of the reasons I would decide to trade in my CX-9. I’m sure I’m not the only one with that sentiment either.

Review is super picky, wonder why ? I drove BMW SUVs worth much more than CX90 and could easily pin point many little and bigger issues with it but no one does it because it is BMWs ? Than I drove generic Koreans like Telluride and Palisades and there was also lot of issues but no one reports is either , wonder why ? I think lot of these Internet Vlogers or "reviewers" are paid for or take advantage of some form of kick backs from these manufacturers and that slants their opinions making them useless .... CX90 is almost perfect , new complicated Electric/gas drivetrain will take little time for Mazda to fine tune and I think they will... I have only noticed a slight delay of power put down at take off where it runs electric and I think this could be reprogrammed by Mazda but it is not a huge issue as many non favorable reviews repeat one after another ... 😉 easy to do huh? Infotainment is the highlight of this car and is one of the best in industry as super intuitive and very very easy to operate once you take a few weeks to get use to it's logic of turn knob . Bose sound very good and is best Bose in a car I have ever heard , perfectly fine and above average in a 50 to 60K 3 row SUV. I drove Explorer ST and it feels much heavier , bloater and massive in comparison to CX90 so this "reviewer" is very off here . Yes it has more power too but it does not feel engaging and maneuverable as CX90 is . Than issue with breaks ? CX90 did break perfectly fine for this kind of vehicle... With very good modulation and break feel that Mazda is known for .

I love your comment you’re so true the review was picky and cringed this is what we as viewers get when they make journalists review cars, not car lovers who can appreciate every fine detail of what makes that particular car special. The CX90 is amazing he’s blabbering about the infotainment which I’m sure most individuals like myself will use CarPlay or android auto so that shouldn’t be a big deal. Powertrain, handling, the rear-based bias as well as the technology, the build quality and materials makes this suv worthy to be called premium plus it japan made that it’s proven Japanese made car are held at a higher level of quality rather than quantity like it’s US made counterparts. It at Lexus and Acura level only for $61k that’s gold unlike the MDX type S which is the only other option the competes with it, but however Acura is asking $75k+ and don’t get me started on the RX 500h 4cyl really for $72k nope the only other on is the qx60 but it’s an old v6 but not bad one. I would like to see any other brands do what Mazda did cause they can’t and won’t. The palisade and the telluride both look weird since they were introduced they tech and interiors are really impressive but the thing is they try to Europe aspires to much with the big flashily display etc… the pilot is solid fantastic build quality but the design is meh the tech could be better but Honda choose to get tech for the accord with meh as well. Then the grand-highlander came to play its tech fill it simple and very handsome as as power but the max platinum is basically $60k like the Mazda and I’m sure the build quality isn’t going to be great since it assembled here in the US and still it a 4cyl so it a may for the GH oh ya almost forgot the GCL summit reserve that like a new x5 50e price so definitely a no for me stellantis 👎 so I’m gonna close the gap it either CX 90, X5 40i, and Mdx type s.

great comment, I have not driven luxury German brands but I own the PHEV version of this and some of the points mentioned in this video seem weird. Yes it is smaller than Pilot or does not maybe match BMW power or luxury but it fits 4 adults and 2 giant dogs perfectly and is great to drive (again, I have not driven nice cars a whole lot, but have driven a lot of Hondas, Subarus and Toyotas, I am guessing Jeep must be nicer to drive too! ). Mazda engineers clearly mentioned that the size was kept as such to focus on driving dynamics so obviously it does not even dream to outsell Kia or Hyundai . review seemed slightly biased.

I think the main issue with the Ford Explorer outside its less sophisticated design is reliability. The CX-90 is definitely a nice option in the segment, but is it worth loosing practicality comparing it to a Honda Pilot? I’m not sure yet…

This is so great! I just hope to see this in a smaller, lighter vehicle, of course the Mazda 6 comes to mind but since that was killed-off, I wish we could see it on a Mazda 3 (Or whatever sedan they wanna make in the future 😅)

It’s a nice SUV. The In-Line 6cyl has 40% less moving parts than the V6. For us personally it’s too big and too expensive.

This car disappointed me. I had been really eagerly awaiting it and I really hoped it would be class competitive on packaging. If Mazda could combine its driving dynamics with class competitive cargo and third row space, this would be really high on my list. Sadly it is really down on practicality. Less maximum cargo space than a much smaller CRV (Almost 25 cubic feet less than a Grand Highlander!) and a small third row even compared to cars several inches shorter. Also making you get a six passenger version with two captains chairs and a rear center console that makes access to the back tougher on top trims is another thing that makes this lacking for family duty. The 8 passenger set up with a removable middle seat on the Pilot is much more family friendly. These are already being discounted in my area and it isn't a surprise as they fail on what matters most to many family buyers.

You're the first to reveal the driver can turn the hybrid stop/start off on coasting and at full stop both. This is over-complicated crap. BMW has always allowed the driver to turn the "regular stop/start" off. Hopefully, you will still be able to do that on its new 48V hybrid also. Disconnecting the engine from the trans on coasting is sheer lunacy. Be prepared for a malfunction coming down the steep mountain road with no engine coming back on. Better hope the brakes are up to task. Saab had a similar system on its old 99 sedans; they called it "free wheeling" back then. Even the most faithful Saab owners hated it and turned it off immediately. If the day ever comes when the driver is precluded from turning such garbage off, it will be the day I stop buying Bimmers.

we just got a Palisade Calligraphy two days ago, it's hands down the best bang for buck and unmatched in features in this segment. ver roomy, even the third row. heated and ventilated rear seats, usb-c ports 14 cup hlders, the third row reclines. the seats are extremely comfortable, Hyundai really hit it out the park with this car.

Hold up dude hold up first of all the Ford Explorer does not have more third-row legroom than a Jeep Grand Cherokee L everyone knows that you can look at the numbers the Jeep Grand Cherokee L is 205 in Long almost 206 and it's a lot more roomier than the vehicle that you're sitting in it and and Ford Explorer
