Dave Coleman is one of main reasons Mazda vehicles in US / North America drives and handles so well. Don't ever let him go. He is one of those rare people that knows what a real car should feel and drive like regardless if it's FWD or RWD. I'm very excited for cx70.
@thatoneotherotherguy Жыл бұрын
@@kevtn8 it really seems like the CX-70 is poised to be a smash hit, a Mazda-saving car. My only complaint with the CX-90 is that I have no interest in "3-row SUVs". Lose the third row and a little bit of bodywork length, ala CX-70, and it's the perfect near-luxury family car.

100% the best explanation of HOW and WHY the CX-90 drives, looks, perform as it does. Great that Mr Coleman developed all this for us buyers! I bought my new CX-90 sight unseen and without driving it first....something I have never done before. Very happy with my Turbo S PP....and it overperformed on fuel mileage on my 1st 170mile highway drive uncorking 29.5-30 MPG, When I calculated my fuel burn (at fill up) I swore I must have been driving downhill the whole trip! The best CX90 clip to date. Can Dave answer how technically Mazda limited base turbo of not taking advantage of extra power from using premium fuels??? Why and how it does not recognize higher octane fuels so it could gain performance from it ??? It is the first Mazda to do that !!! I would consider base turbo CX90 if I could use better quality premium fuels and gain power from it like in all other Mazdas , even 32K Mazda 3 gains power from 93 octane and 52K CX90 does not !!!!!! Why not , are pricing politics playing a role here? It is very annoying and may make me look elsewhere.
@kdomster9141 Жыл бұрын
Another set of questions, if power on Cx90 uses electric motor with over 100lbs/ft for total of 332lbs/ft so does it mean that turbo on 3.3 produces just 232lbs/tq ??? It almost makes me think it is a 3.3l without turbo but extra power is added just from electric motor... It is very confusing how that electric motors power is calculated in CX90s power rating ? 280hp/332tq from 3.3l displacement does look like extremely low psi turbo or numer possible from straight not turbo charged 3.3l

From an options standpoint, allow me to select a cold weather package that will add heated front seats and steering wheel to even the base trims. Heat the whole steering wheel. And for us who live in the south, cooler seats as an option on more trims would be really cool. I’d pay $1500 as a stand alone option for them. From a platform standpoint, if I’m being greedy, adaptive dampers. The only real change is that the car needs to get off the line with more urgency. With the large displacement and electric motor assist I was expecting to be able to get the jump on all the other crossovers out there. Another KZbin channel did a comparison and this and the Hyundai where equal with each other until 35ish mph. If I’m needing to get the jump on a car to merge over right I’d expect my Turbo S 369hp to blow the 290hp NA outta the water. But honestly these all are nitpicks and it’s a wonderful platform and car. It would of course be a wish to have this in a sedan. Maybe share development costs with Lexus for their next generation IS?

I would always go for standard tires over low profile. As I live in a hot climate, I would like AC to run off electric on hybrids, and have remote activation. Cars in the summer here get so hot in the open sun that parking for a 45 minute lunch heats up the car such that the AC is nullified on the whole trip back, only starting to cool the cabin as you park on your return. That anniversary orange was fun. +1 to all of the mazda6 comments. If it debuts before the year is out, handles tight enough, and offers even a 1/8 inch more rear passenger space over my Mazda3 HB, then I'd probably trade in. And I love my 3 turbo. I very like that Mazda finally brings PHEV technology to its line up. Personally I would prefer more electric range (as the competition). My dream large PHEV from Mazda would be something like the MX-30 R-EV which drives only with electric motors, has a decent electric range and a range extender for longer trips.

Yes! Beautiful car. Excited to test drive one though I’m not in the market for it. CX-70 should be super interesting especially if it can tow a small family camper. And yeah Mazda 6! Also, come on Miata 😂

Thanks for the vid!! Would love if you could make another vid and explain in a more basic level for us non-engineering/non-auto people! love my mazdas! ordered a cx90! My favorite thing about mazdas is the driving feel!!! Suspension and seats were a bit too stiff but ordered one anyway.

I have no need for a vehicle like this but I think Mazda did a great job. Soemthing 3 series/X3 size with this engine would be awesome. Always enjoy the videos with Dave.

Give us Mazda 6 (MX-60), Sportback (with practical hatch like Kia stinger) with sedan looks, inline 6, capable of 35+ mpg, but when I press that sport button I want it to go zoom zoom (5 seconds) 😮. And then have another trim with 2.5l plug-in hibrid that can give us 40-50 miles on electric only 😀....

This is the type of car-related video that I personally enjoy the most. Thank you Mr. Coleman, and Moto-Man! By the way, did he say “BROWN MANUAL DIESEL WAGON” with inline 6? Because as a single Mazda fan with lots of stuff to carry around daily, it’s something I’m really going to look forward to. Forget diesel and brown, but seriously.
