it's not just a time constraint issue, they need new developers and engineers who can work on 3D games and maybe even new directors and producers who can bring in new ideas. They can have all the time in the world, but if you have a staff that can't handle or don't know how to develop the games you want, then it doesn't matter.

Monster Hunter Stories 1 and 2, SMT, Coromon, Nexomon, Cassette Beasts, Palworld, etc. There are so many other games to play. The reason Nintendo and TPC don't care is because they are a monopoly right now and are to biggest and most profitable franchise in the world. People support their lack luster crap when we have so many other options out there.

While pokemon games aren't very good the concepts, the story and especialy the pokémon thesmself are realy good these other monster catchers either have boring/nonexistent plots (palworld) boring concept (casette beasts) or the monster designs are just realy surface level and lack real creativity wich is true for like a dozen pokémon but its also true for almost all of these casette beasts, pals and other stuff

I want to say, having a gap year was really refreshing. I managed to complete Pokédexes of the games that I put on hold, played Mystery Dungeon DX for the first time (and really loved it) and overall got easily distracted by other games from my massive gaming backlog. Having break years is healthy not only for Game Freak but for fans too. Also I absolutely love how the lack of news got to some of the fans. Seeing them sitting there in tinfoil hats theorising about gen 5 remakes in a 1000th time while trying to get Khu's (fraud) riddles is absolutely hilarious to watch.

Honestly im ok with this not every year has to be massive for each franchise and it lets things settle for a bit. The Kalos ZA Game will hopefully be worth it when it comes out. I remember in 2015 everyone lost their minds online and moaned like anything. I think as a fanbase they just need to chill and to be fair the pokemon company launched their youtube channel uploading the anime episodes which tbh is a very nice edition.

It's amazing how 9 years ago, we were waiting for a Pokémon Z to release. And 9 year later, we're still doing the exact same thing. That said, I think 2024 being a break year is a good thing because mainline Pokémon has been suffering from time constraints and lack of space between releases, especially between 2021 & 2022.

Honestly, the thing that's both so depressing and infuriating about Pokemon is that it feels like it's the only one of Nintendo's IPs that keeps getting treated so badly compared to the rest of Nintendo's lineup. Just look at Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Mario, etc. Nintendo has been putting out banger after banger in recent years: Tears of the Kingdom, Super Mario Bros Wonder, Brothership, Pikmin 4, Echoes of Wisdom, Fire Emblem, Metroid: Dread, remakes like Thousand Year Door and Metroid Prime. All absolute bangers that look and play great. Meanwhile Pokemon looks like the black sheep in comparison with the rushed messes that were Scarlet and Violet. And some wonder why Pokemon fans are so pissed.

I'm fine with it. GameFreak really needed to slow down. Sun and Moon, for example, were good games because they had more time to be completed. Sword & Shield and Scarlet & Violet had less time to be polished. Pumping out a new generation of Pokémon every three years hurt the company. Taking an extra year to get their work done is no problem, and it will be worth the wait.

This year was definitely interesting while it sucks not getting any info on ZA not even a 2d trailer to see the starters, it did give me time to finally play SW/SH since I wasn’t able to play before. Plus as a sonic fan I had animated shorts, a new game and movie to look forward to so it wasn’t that bad.

All I want from Pokémon is - Bring back pixelart (they were best with this style), maybe with the style of Brown Dust or Sword of Convaliria - Actually make better animations - Don't be so handhold towards the player base(most have been playing for decades) - Have an on/off feature for most things like Exp Share(please both sides of the fan base at once) -Voice acting! It's time to do it - Make the story somewhat worth it - Allow the player to decide if they want to be part of the good or bad guys - Allow players to become a Gym leader with reasonable rules for their gym to go against other players(also create their own badge)

I think we've only ever had ahand full of gap years between releases mainly emerald to DP, but from past experience with ORAS being released in 2014 to Sun and Moon in 2016. I wish gamefreak did more than just outbreaks and tera raids to fill in this year

I don't think there's evidence it was delayed? I think this was always the plan. Gen 10 is guaranteed to be for the 30th anniversary of the series in 2026, so either 2024 had to have no game or 2025.

This year did technically have mainline content in the form of the Mochi Mayhem epilogue, which came out in January. Still, crazy to think there's not been any news since February. The release of a Kalos game was actually hinted at in The Indigo Disk: you get to hunt for multiple Legendary Pokémon across Paldea, *excluding* the Kalos Legendaries. Their exclusion definitely hinted at something Kalos related. Johto is now the region we have visited the longest amount of time, last being accessible in HGSS 15 years ago. When those seven star raids started showing up, I felt I wasn't ready for them and skipped a lot of them, but when I finally did participate in one and win, I felt really bad at having failed to catch many of my favorite starter Pokémon and my favorite Legendary Pokémon in Mewtwo. It stings whenever I think about it.

Personally I’ve really liked the break from a new mainline game this year c:, I’ve mainly just been focusing on playing older games that I either hadn’t played at all before or haven’t played in a long time, I played Emerald and SoulSilver for the first time which were both amazing and I’m about to finish a playthrough of White 2 challenge mode which has been amazing c:, and once I’m finished with that I’m gonna play Platinum for the first time. It’s also helped me focus a lot more on real life stuff, just being more in the moment which has been really nice c:

Good thing 2024 was empty for Pokémon just like how 2015 was. We got nothing crazy in 2015, and we got nothing crazy in 2024. Doesn’t mean I will magically become a Pokémon fan again. We did get anime episodes in those years, but that doesn’t apply to what I am saying here; this in regards to Pokémon’s game series, and not its anime.

The Pokémon community has become ungrateful toward the mainline games. People who complained and cried about what they thought of Scar-Vio seems traumatic. I think the hyper-criticism was totally unfair and unwarranted. While people of all ages love Pokémon, it's meant for children. Children who will appreciate the games more than spoiled adults who complain about Pokémon designs, game play changes, glitches and bugs, graphics, etc. I've played the Pokémon games for over 25 years and I still understand that 1. these games are not geared toward my age group and 2. Some times techinical issues occur when you are developing so many properties at once with a fairly small staff who has to constantly develop/re-develop for handheld devices. People always bring up Mario and Zelda but Mario is literally Nintendo's bread and butter and Zelda does not have as many mainline games as Gamefreak/Pokémon Co. Just let them cook & hopefully the results will be more polished and rewarding, but if not remember that Nintendo is also being terrible at debuting the next console and the studio has to work with that.

This year has been great for me, I played a lot of the switch other games I haven’t done and a lot of smaller tasks I enjoy during this time too, I played through sword and it’s dlc, had a lot more fun than when I did it years ago in shield, did the same with scarlet and later this month I’m gonna get the scarlet dlc because I totally rushed through my violet dlc with my op level 100 pokemon to get to the point where I could shiny hunt the starters properly, and also playing through a lot of fan game rom hacks too. And now once I’m done with the scarlet DLC in a few months I will be ready to get back into a proper game again, especially excited considering my favourite pokemon game ever is legends arceus

This is the second time that Pokemon hasn’t had a mainline release in since 2015 had no mainline game. I have pokemon horizons to keep me occupied just like in 2015. The pokemon Tera leaks have probably died down by now. Since gen 9 started, pokemon has released a manga for scarlet and violet, pokemon horizons started, and among other things. After all the pokemon franchise is a multi media franchise. Pokemon I don’t think has gone with more than two years with a mainline game releasing. Pokemon tcg pocket did also release as well which the franchise is also getting money from that game. The franchise did earn 100 million or 120 million on that app. The next time we will have information and a Pokemon presents is in February most likely in 2025. We won’t have to wait long. I wouldn’t be too worried or concerned. They aren’t canceling legends z-a. And we know they are working on both legends z-a and the gen 10 games since gamefreak has two teams.

2024 has been a nice break. I been spending my time making all my competitive big teams in each game ribbon masters. So I been playing BDSP daily, I can't remember the last time I touch scarlet and violet expect to get back into master rank for the rewards. @@ElectroBlastLuigi Exactly. And besides... I'm no stranger to seeing some gaming franchises take long years off before the release of their next entry. For example with the Sonic franchise... Sonic Forces came out in late 2017. And from that release to the release of the next mainline entry of the Sonic games, that being Sonic Frontiers, that came out by late 2022. Meaning there was a total of about 5 years between main entry releases barring a spin off racing game (aka Team Sonic Racing) some mobile updates, a remaster of Sonic Colors, and a compilation release of classic Sonic games that being Sonic Origins.

@@jimmyhook4852 Yes, but they’ve been radio silent this whole time. If the only thing we know about Legends: Z-A comes from leaks and literally nothing from official sources, that’s a bad thing. I would have at the very least like to have seen the starters confirmed. It wouldn’t take away 100% of development time.

backward logic. Them showing us ANYTHING wont stop developers from working. Game will look the same no matter if they show us or not. Them not showing anything could literally mean they are so far behind that there is nothing good to show.

I went back to pokemon this year since pokemon Y witch was i my opinion no so good so that i bought platin and heartgold . Platin was amazing because i startet pokemon very late (Black was the first i only new diamant perl platin and so one threw friends) so. I left at y because it was to short to play thrue and iam 24 and hat other intrests but i likr your chanel good luck

I haven't purchased a Pokemon game all switch gen, and I didn't notice that there were no Pokemon games this year (outside of tcg). That being said, the absence is really exciting to me! If they can get the formula right on switch 2 I'm there. The legends series is really interesting to me, I didn't pick up arceus, but it's the first that Pokemon drew me in a long time, so hopefully this next one hits for me!

This was the norm at one point. There’s definitely been a decline in both quality (bugs and technical issues) and in post game content. I remember waiting in 2014 for ORAS to not come out until 2015. The anticipation honestly makes it more hyped and those games had a lot of polish

I know besides that New Simulation version of the Pokemon TCG new opening cards app game that eas out which (BTW, way, thats not even a new concept either. Since about 2009 or 2010,Like 3 years before i got back into collecting physical copies of the real Pokemon TCG series cards! It's a great thing that they're taking the time for Z-A. But it's a crying shame they didn't just release Arceus in November 2022, SV in November 2023, DLC in 2024 and essentially stick to the yearly schedule
