Don't think you can option performance with pro pack as mentioned in the video. Bit pointless anyway since pro pack gives you 21" wheels, gold stripe seatbelt and gold valve cap. The performance pack gives you 22" wheels, gold seat belt, gold valve cap and more.

I would say they are a Swedish brand. They're in the Geely Group umbrella. They're the sports offshoot of Volvo and headquartered very close to Volvo. They also share a good amount of personnel, materials, some development, crash and other testing with Volvo. However, the Polestar 4 is a different vehicle than the 3 as it is based on a Zeekr rather than a Volvo. Manufacture will be in China and South Korea.

Polestar 4 is based on the SEA platform, same as Volvo EX30 and Zeekr X and Smart#3

@@lt6532 The Polestar 4 uses the Zeekr001 framework. It has some Zeekr hardware it uses. However, the EX30 is built on the SEA platform but shares no panels with the Zeekr X or Smart #1. Cars can be built off the same platform but feel quite different in how they drive.

It must be cheaper to have a rear window than a camera . Some Evs have cameras instead of rear view mirrors. I prefer a rear window and side rear view mirrors instead of staring into a camera .

The camera makes you see much more and better headroom in the rear seat. Polestar does not remove things to make it cheap.

Stupid title, thumbs down. Polestar IS a Swedish company and a Swedish brand. Engineered and designed in Sweden.That'ss a fact. (Oh btw, the SEA platform was also developed in large part by Swedes) The main owner is Chinese, of course. But you never see titles like "Jaguar - the British/Indian brand" do you? How come people have such a hard time understanding the difference here?

I test drove the P3 and P4, and man people are sleeping on them. Highly recommend you give it a go, I don't think many cars compare, certainly not the Model Y in my opinion. Maybe the new Porsche Macan, which I'm keen to test drive as well.

Polsestar 4 is in no way price comparable to the Tesla model Y. Tesla model Y is nearly 30% cheaper than this Polestar 4. An Optioned up Polestar 4 would set you back around $125,000.00. and a similar Model Y would set you back $88,000.00. Polestar as a company has posted year on year losses. Polestar have reported 1.46 billion dollar loss for 2024 due to poor sales. If your planning to buy a car for 125k, you have to take into consideration that Polestars may go the same way as Fisker if trends stay the same.

This video didn't say that this car is comparable to a model Y so what's your point? Polestar themself compare this car to a Porsche Macan. How do you even get a similar model Y? Model Y is not a luxury car to begin with, have no driver dashboard, no vss, no 360 camera. Even worst that you're comparing Polestar to Fisker. Have a look more into Fisker and you'll understand why they are so different.

Polestar is not a Swedish brand. It originates from Volvo, which is full owned by Chinese manufacturer Geely. Chinese manufacturers don't operate on a level playing field as compared to European car manufacturers. Lower labour costs, lower energy cost, lower costs for rare metals needed for battery production, soft environmental laws, etc. Because Russia started a war on the European continent, European countries banned the use of Russian fossil fuels, while China is supporting Russia's war efforts by buying Russian oil and gas at decreased prices. Then of course there is the fact that China is not playing by the WTO rules. Western car manufacturers were forced by Chinese to share their Intellectual property with Chinese partners otherwise they were not allowed to sell their products in China. This explains why Chinese cars are on some aspects at the same quality as Western made cars.

Polestars are not overpriced. They're in the same quality bracket as Volvos yet are sportier so they should actually cost more than Volvos and often do not.

@@kelvindownunder They're not really a startup. They're Volvos. Volvo always had the Polestar wing as their sports division and a group of designers and engineers straight from Volvo were spun off so Polestar could design their own line of cars.

Do you compare a Porsche taycan to your industry standard? It’s a pointless comment just regurgitated from lazy motoring journalists. Tesla were just the first major EV supplier and not an industry standard. The only similarity is that they are both EV.
