Just picked up the blue one a few days ago. This would be my 3rd Subaru and it is the fastest and most refined and capable out of all the Subaru's that I have owned and driven. I had a Forester XT that was Cob tuned to stage 1 and this is still faster. I'm not just a happy new car owner. I had expectations of what this would be and it has exceeded them. I was expecting even more body roll as this is the highest suspended Subaru and this has the least body roll considering the off road tuning this is very impressive. So far I have not taken it off road but the on road performance is outstanding, the smooth acceleration and the fact that you don't feel the speed in this car. It is as well planted at 80 as it is 40! You don't feel like you are pushing the car any it is just has happy going fast. The comfort of the seats, and just how well everything is laid out and all the features, Booming sound system! This is a very nimble vehicle for it's size and weight. Subaru did everything right, take all the years of rally car racing, take the performance of the STI experience, take all the years of us moding them for outdoor use and combine them together into what has become a stellar engineered vehicle. Just what is out there that can compare to this? Just what is out there that can go off road and behave on road? Just what is out there that is faster that can remotely go off road? This is it! I have always had the need to modify every Subaru I have ever had. There was always something that needed to be done to make it better. Cob tuning, skid plates, sound deadening ext. This is the first Subaru that I have totally happy with and I don't see the need to do, add or modify anything.

It's a great car! Very fun to drive.

Are you going to keep the original tires on it? If I had to choose something I didn't like it would be the tires because they're just not aggressive enough to go into any sort of serious incline with mud or slippery grass.

@@taistotrannum120 I don't know yet, I will say this is the smoothest AT tires that I have ever had low noise on road very nice. Have not taken it off road yet or snow so the jury is still out on this.

Love your incite on this amazing car !! I’ll be picking up my autumn green 2025 Wilderness OB first week December - I can’t wait !! It’ll be my 5th Subaru , including 1 WRX and 2 WRX STIs. The only negative that comes to mind is the electronic parking brake. I think that’s a terrible idea ! Otherwise - flawless execution !! Thanks for your write up John 🙂

@@keystonedaytrip238 Just wait till you go camping and mess up the car! It takes literally 10 minutes to wipe down the car with a damp cloth, vacuum the floor give the mats a rinse and you are done! Just got back from a week long outing in slush and mud. Can't believe how quickly it can be cleaned up. No leather to worry about and it's just as soft as leather but not as hot in summer nor as cold in the winter, I am in love with Starteck seats and will never go back to leather. As far as the car handling in the mountains well it is the best Subaru. They even thought about the interior and what we have to do to clean the car. That is how awesome this is, you are going to love it. Enjoy!

I'm not a fan of CVT transmission either. But, if you have to run a CVT, then Subaru makes the best one.

Toyota and Kia have the two of best cvt's as far as driveability.

Now THIS has good acceleration. Seems to drive pretty great, but I personally would not get a Subaru. Besides, great review!

Thank you! Why wouldn't you get a Subaru?

@@DMCarReviews I’ve been been a fan of their design language, and the infotainment isn’t the best.
@cristinearias66135 ай бұрын
The infotainment horrible and steering is too loose, making it a wobbly drive. Beside oil burn. This was enough to detour me away from buying another one. Seats can be more plush on cushioning after a long trip. It becomes uncomfortable.

I'd be interested to see you drive some Mazdas, maybe compare this Outback to a CX50 Turbo
@DMCarReviews6 ай бұрын
For sure! I should totally film some. Good idea :)

Definitely. Mazda is one of the few brands other than Subaru that I would consider. I loved my wife's Mazda 3.

The body roll of the Outback Wilderness is absolutely terrible. Otherwise this a very solid adventure car.

I didn't notice any major body roll. Felt decently planted.
