I always enjoy your “real world” riding reviews 👍. I know it’s a worn out cliché, but your are right because “Torque moves motorcycles down the road, horsepower numbers usually just moves motorcycles off the showroom floor.” Unless you are spending a lot of time on track days, rarely are you spinning the engine at maximum horsepower speeds, but with useable mid rpm torque, you’ll use it every day. And with 50 years of riding experience I concur that the most useable engines for the road fall in the 600 to 900 cc range. (Although I haven’t always taken my own advice 😉.)

I’ve got the 8s, I’m 6ft and fits me perfect, just clocked 3500 miles and still grinning every time I get off it. Had the 800RE for short while on loan and that was really comfortable. Suzuki could have a winning platform here. Love to try the 8R.

I test ride that exact bike the other week, I now have one on order, it’s a great bike for everyday use.

Great review! I've just got my first bike, Z650, already adding this as a possible replacement in a few years haha! I don't want to brag but my bike has enough room for a whole ham sandwich.

Evotech UK makes a beautiful tail tidy for the 8S/8R. Quality products for a quality bike. Thanks Spicy 🤙

IF I bought one, I'd do my usual thing and replace front and rear sprockets straight off (UP 1 tooth front + DOWN 2 teeth rear), this would help engine relax at higher cruising speeds, and, help with economy. (It CERTAINLY helped on my last bike - Suzuki RF900R as it unfortunately only had a 5 speed box)... But... Such a HIGHLY UNDERRATED BIKE! Spicey, IF you can find one in good nick, RIDE IT, it would be interesting to see what you think! It could also be an 'Old world V New world comparison' theme to your channel too! 🤔👍😏 😎🇬🇧

Great review I was looking at this bike after over 30 years of not owning or being on a bike ,I agree the tank colour is a bit weird ,not a huge fan of the rear end tail system although the shop did have a demo in with a tail tidy set up .Went with a ninja 650 in the end as a mint condition low mileage 2022 krt edition came in and I’m very happy with it .strangely this 8r looks stunning in bright yellow but that colour is not an option for the uk .

Ironic - I have 2023 Ninja 650 KRT edition and have been hesitant to let it go for an 8R. Kawi does a real good job with style and the Ninja 650 has some punch, it's a fun bike, light weight and good gas mileage. I still enjoy it and was impressed after two test rides on the 8R.

So this is the cursed review. Bike looks good, nice shade of blue, and that short back end with a tidy, will look rather tasty.

Great review! QS on my 8S between 1st and 2nd started out a bit like that but over time either it’s got smoother or I have or both so all good!

Great video and will help sell this already popular bike. It’s a bit of a Goldilocks bike and a great first “big” bike to goon around and develop your skills before inevitably upgrading like we all do…

hi! Really enjoyed your video, do you think you can do a lot of miles in backroads mixed with a little highway with this bike? Let's say about a 500miles trip in a day ? Obviously you'll get a little sored, you also end up sored in an adv bike either way, just wondering if this is feasible with this bike without too much commitment.

Take a test ride! 🙂 I have an XJ6 that has an inline4 600cc engine, but it has nowhere near the power of your GSX-R but the same sort of engine characteristics. What I can say is the low-down and mid-range makes it a lot calmer to ride.

No m8. Why would you trade your 600cc 4 cylinder for a 776 2 cylinder? The torque on this bike that everyone talks about is even lower than those 600cc sportbikes. And it only revs to 9000 rpms, after about 4000rpms the power dies out fast. I have it, it's overrated. And it's heavy for what it is, I'm pretty sure most of the reviews are paid for.
@jonathanmasterson3100

@@lil_shrimp6404 for the torque and comfort, although I do get on with my 600 quite well…. You not impressed with your bike? These paid reviews are a worry… hard to know what to believe!!!

i know you reviewed the scrambler xe but is there any chance of the scrambler 900 in review form? They've shot up in popularity and I think ass you say about the gsx8r its a nice bike to have restricted for a2 and those who don't wanna live the helmet toker lifestyle zooming down residential roads.

So if i had a gsx s750 and its time to upgrade. This and the gsx s1000 are 2 options. Mt09 is the other one on the table. How would you compare this to the gsxs1000
@lil_shrimp6404
@lil_shrimp6404 Ай бұрын
You can't. It's a 2 cylinder and slower the 600 sport bikes. It's good for a parallel 2 but can't compare to 4 cylinder bikes
