I am a dual citizen US/Filipino, I live here in the Philipines permanently now, I was a Registered nurse in the States. I used to own a tesla model S. It was a nice car, self driving, fast and the electronics is amazing. The cons are: it is very expensive to maintain, there is no spare tire, when you have tire problem, you call tesla and a service truck comes and pick up your car and deliver to a tire shop. One major problem is the battery range, nervous where is the next charging stations, unlike with gasoline, you can have gas anywhere. I compare the build quality of tesla and japanese cars, I think, the former has a better build quality, unlike with tesla, some parts squirking somewhere. When you have to change tire, you have to have it exhanged with Tesla center, otherwise your alignment and selfdriving will be affected. These are my concerns when I had tesla back in the states. Here in the Ph, i drive toyota RAV4, which is very econmmical and tatak Toyota.

The wipers can also be activated by pressing the button at the tip of the left stalk.This should also bring up the menu that’ll allow for wiper speed selection. Long pressing the same button also does a windshield wash (spray) and wipe. Good review overall!

Yes, practicality is insane. We were shocked by the available spaces in this car when we did a test drive. The storage space under the rear boot is also way deeper and wider in reality than how it appears in videos.

Nice review brother. You’ve opened my eyes to Tesla’s limitations in the Philippines. While Tesla is great here in the US and until Tesla integrates their cars in the Philippines, it wouldn’t be practical really for Filipinos to use it. A lot of the features are really useful for the Philippines ie GPS, self driving, Philippine apps, supercharging network, service centers etc.. again until Tesla establishes their support in the country it won’t be used at its full potential. I wish you could add more context as to why that is and if government has to do something about it or if Tesla just refuse to provide to our beloved country.

I suspect when Tesla comes to the Philippines officially, we will have no issues with the apps, they sell Chinese-made Tesla's in the UK and other parts of Europe that have the correct apps for their country.

Agree. When Tesla officially markets their cars here, it will be configured for the PH market will all the niceties and standards that Philippine-spec cars sold here all have. It's just a matter of when. Also, Tesla absolutely has to populate their Supercharger network here to make it all work.

@@lolpartyparrot We don't really need supercharges that much. I mean, we do need it, but it's not as crucial in comparison to the US where they travel for hundreds of kilometers everyday. Most of us will only use these kinds of vehicle for less than 100km everyday since our country is significantly smaller than the US, which is why EVs are more viable in our country. We're also in a good place, near the equator, means we can enjoy solar power more efficiently than other countries like China or Korea. Telsa is a company that's pretty much built for our country, they just don't know it yet lol Tesla power wall? SolarCity? Their vehicles? All of that fits our country. Heck, even the Starlink of SpaceX is great for our country, since we have tons of remote areas and especially islands that could really use a reliable internet connectivity.

@teikken
@teikken Жыл бұрын
Caco, that is not an “infotainment screen” - that is actually a computer tablet. Once you’ve personalized the seat position, side mirrors, etc., in the settings, you won’t have to bother tapping onto the tablet while driving. Also, almost all the controls are accessible by voice command. Opening/Closing the frunk, trunk, charging port, etc., can now be controlled by your Apple Watch. Charging. Home charging is the main solution. You only really need Supercharging stations if you’re on long road trips. Like LA to SanFo/Vegas. It is a fun car to drive! Not going back to ICE.

@@AJRV1-lc5wz - I totally disagree, I drove a Prius for 5 years sold it and now a 2018 Tesla M3 dual motor and I have to say Tesla EV is way way better. Maybe if it was a different EV car but if you get a Tesla then I'm sure you'll change your mind. My question is , did you ever own a Tesla ( or any EV)? Because if you didn't own an EV then it's just your opinion without any comparison. I will never go back to an ICE/hybrid car ever.

I've had my Model 3 Performance for about 9 months now and this is the 1st car in my life that I've put the most miles within a short time as it is very cheap to run, quiet, comfortable, safe with it's excellent AWD traction on wet roads here in UK. It also does 1/4 mile in 11.5s, 0-60 in 3.1s and it costs way cheaper than any other ICE car with this much performance and tech. Huge respect to all the engineers for inventing cool cars like these. It may not work for everyone, but it is a brilliant piece of kit for my needs.

But supercharger is everywhere in my area which makes it worth it. oh and 8 years battery and motor warranty. im at 15,000 miles and people say tesla tires wears out much quicker like around 25,000 miles or less depends on driving habits compared to ice vehicles around 50,000 miles. no change oils, no maintenance. no expensive gas just charge at $0.14 cents /kwh in off peak supercharger.

Great review! It's nice that Tesla has reached the PH shores although via a 3rd-party company. One thing to note - there's a proper way to close the frunk and not the typical way of closing hoods of ICE cars. Tesla has an aluminum hood and would be bend out of shape if continued to be closed that way.

Love the review, but reviewing a Tesla only as an ELECTRIC CAR is half the story. When you fully utilize the FSD(with AI Assist and on-board supercomputer), this is where you will see how Tesla is years ahead of other car companies. You will find out that Tesla holds the future of transportation. I was never a fan of electric cars, but driving my Tesla MY Performance with FSD for a year now is like having a personal driver (which I am used to having in the Philippines). Takes the pain of 40-mile daily commute to work. You always make good reviews and more power!

Love my ‘23 Y. Good review. Is it worth getting it in the Philippines NO, unless you just want to get a unique EV brand like a Tesla. City driving would be fine. But without that charging infrastructure you’ll be missing out a lot to which this car was designed for. The model difference between a standard and performance is physically cometic. You can pay for the boost update on the standard. The OTA software updates/upgrades are gold standard. However the flagships Plaid are a different ball game altogether. Let’s not forget they cost a lot have it service in an accident and insurance. Often times you’ll see a minor crash and they will deemed this totaled. They are built differently from ICE cars.

The charging ports are for an AC charger which will accept a level 1 and level 2 GB/T charger. The other one is a DC GB/T charging port. There are charging stations, specifically that of Shell where the attendants will not allow you to use your adapter, since they use a CCS2 for DC charging or a type 2 for level 2 charging. But still an excellent review. I was looking for a DC GB/T adapter but it costs around 1,300 USD in eBay. Guess a level 2, 22 KWH charger will do in malls., or the wall charger installed at home will be enough.

Hey Buddy that's a pretty good review. If possible down the road...update the comments about YOUR Tesla. Curious how it handles any flooding there. Example: Able to navigate with no noticeable issues with water height of 8 inches as an example; or you had a friend who purchased a Tesla and it is not functional anymore due to central control head unit not operable? or maybe like If you have to take the Tesla in for maintenance is there a dedicated Tesla service or certified shop there to work on it? Or any rebates or tax credits in the Philippines there as there was here in the United States? How about if the Tesla Breakdown and it has to be towed to a auto-shop, do you have a local transport that has the ability to put it on the truck bed so that ALL the wheels are off the ground? Never drove a Telsa..but I am curious about what peoples experiences are and not some generic Tesla commercial. But you hit it on the mark at 23:15 and so for you? Since you are one of the few that has a Tesla. Did YOU have a charging station or should I say besides a level 1 charger installed in your home for your Tesla? I see you drove it out in the country, have you driven your Tesla in a really urban and crowded environment like in the middle of Manila in the middle of the day? Again..just curious, what people encounter in a different country besides the USA. Thank you.

Aside from the phone. I now control some of the functions through my Apple watch - open/close doors, frunk, trunk, charge port, stop charging, etc. Bought a M3P last February. It just a fun car to drive!

You can connect to your phone's portable hotspot so that you can use a lot of its features.. Is this an official release or part of the grey market? I'm guessing the latter since the premium connectivity was never discussed which is a Tesla-only offering

So since an official Tesla dealership was just recently launched here in the Philippines., are we still getting the china spec units or is it going to be regionally adapted?

the truth is tesla is way cheaper in US bec of tax incentives, compared to us, youll be charged around 110% more the original price due to import taxes🙁 wishing someday the govt will give way for EVs in the future

The govt has already passed a law last January. No more import taxes for EVs. No excise tax also (aka VAT).

Hyundai could be channel’s sponsor. Just like traditional automakers are advertisers of mainstream media in the US. That’s why MSMs hate Tesla

Question: Is a Tesla still worth getting in Philippines? For my personal opinion about that is I would wait for Tesla cars that are spec out for the Philippine market - specifically. I will really go excited if I hear a Tesla model S and again a Phillippine spec-ed.

The supercharger network makes a lot of difference in driving and owning one. When I had the opportunity to drive it, the supercharger was more reliable compared to getting it charged in say a public parking lot, hotel, etc. So it would be advantageous for Tesla to invest on this as well.
