I have a '24 SE Hybrid. I get an average of 65 mpgs on my daily 50 mile commute. I bought it under msrp and no dealer options. Affordable and reliable, it doesn't get better than that for a commuter vehicle.

I like the looks of the hatchback but I'd prefer a locking trunk so the sedan wins. In any case, the Corolla is a low cost, high mileage car for people who love dependability and function but don't want to spend a lot of money, a clear winner considering today's cost of living crisis.

So you can get heated seats in ANY of the hybrid models. There is no XSE hybrid. Only options are XSE sedan and XSE hatchback. WTF.

Cheap plasticky interior, CVT, dealer markups, forced port installed and dealer installed accessories, torsion beam rear suspension on the gasoline Corolla LE sedan etc. No thanks Toyota. I’d much rather pay around the same price and buy a far superior Mazda 3 or Honda Civic

The Honda 1.5L engines have a design flaw in the block that causes head gasket blowouts. Also consider the oil dilution issues on the Honda engines as well. Their reliability has taken a hit lately.

The interior build quality and materials remind of a cheaper GM product The interior space is also the worst in class. The tech and features are ancient The powertrains are lackluster. It’s the slowest in the class and it can get very expensive. The price of a corolla XSE can get you a civic touring w the 1.5T The handling and driving experience are the worst in class. The GR corolla has been having overheating issues from the AWD system. The interior is still subpar. And it’s overpriced. And it’s not as fast as a golf R. Not as refined as the CTR or golf R
