So the TRD Off-Road with the hybrid motor comes with the chin spoiler?? Seems like every non hybrid “TRD Off-Road” comes without the chin spoiler. $58k to rich for my blood for what it is. Nice truck not saying it’s not. I’d wait until the dealer lots are full of the hybrid version and try to work a deal.

Real nice mid-size truck. Loaded with about every option a guy good dream of. The price of $58,000 is really not out of line with other brands that are well equipped. Thanks for another interesting video on this truck. I like the idea of a hybrid.

I like the new Tacoma, and really do love the 2.4 turbo. My issue is that the SR5 does not have an option for 4wd auto or full-time 4wd and that is a big thumbs down for us who live in snowy conditions.Also, the fuel tank is on the small side 😢 Was hoping to see a 23 gallon tank not an 18 gallon tank.

I’m picking mine up next week with premium package, stabilizer disconnect, spray in bed liner, mud flaps, door panel protector, phone cables, tailgate insert, door edge guards msrp $58959. I was able to get $2500 off which I was not able to find any other dealer offering in ice cap color. I test drove one locally and it absolutely rips! Night and day versus the older ones.

What’s with the front splitter being on the Off Road trim? Is that a hybrid-specific thing? The pro and trailhunter don’t have that dumb splitter on there, and my base trd OR doesn’t either.

The air dam hanging off the front is an insult. The 18 inch wheels are not conducive for off roading. The Falken Wildpeak tires are nice. The MSRP is unobtainable by the vast majority of customers, especially given the interest rates are so high. The fuel mileage is only one more mile per gallon than the I-Force engine and the payload is the same. Towing figures are the same as well but the truck will probably get more mpg than the regular I-Force engine because of the torque rating. Really getting the I-Force Max instead of the regular engine will be for bragging rights only considering the much higher price (figuring also the sales tax and insurance) and considering the off-road capabilities will be the same. Only if the air dam takes a hike and the 18 inch wheels are swapped with no larger than 17 inch wheels.

And true it sucks to have a smaller gas tank, minimal pax space in the backseats (particularly the trd pro😳), the unknown reliability of the new engine compared to the tried and true 2GR-FKS V6 engine, and it sucks serious ass that Toyota R&D department to cut costs, didn’t beef up the drivetrain i.e. both the manual and automatic transmission along with the front driveshaft and the aluminum and bigger rear driveshaft but probably the biggest suckiest issue the higher prices which might require sacrificing your income to afford the higher monthly payments for your car note. Yea, it sucks 24/7!🤷‍♂️😳
