@Jomonji 🤦♂️....go review Toyota's EBITDA as a % from 10 yrs ago to today. That will tell you all you need to know about pricing. The "production in Mexico means prices should be cheaper" isn't rooted in anything but non-business minded people's imagination. I'm not dissing you, I'm just saying that line of thinking isn't real in the business world. Comparing EBITDA as a % will begin to inform you about how pricing is affecting the entire company. Furthermore, you do realize that, as in every company, the most popular products must pay not only for themselves (Toyota has spent billions on the redesign of their trucks) but for the other products that either lose money or don't make much. It's not just the Tacoma pricing paying for itself. It must make up for the less profitable Cotlrolla and such.

Was in Houston last week with the $11K off. $8K(ish) off MSRP and 11.5K off their add-ons but they were actually valuable or realistic add-ons. My preferred dealer is offering me $9K off a Platinum now. Going to look at it Wednesday. Not my #1 or #2 color choice so we'll see. They got themselves in this situation riding the 2021/2022 price increase train (MY 2022/2023 models) and not certain they know how to lower them. Tesla lowered their prices and got sued. Funny story, the Houston dealer tried to tell me he uses this special distributor who builds vehicles special that other disti's don't - like I give a Fu@K ....Don't care about the TSS or whatever. I want what I want. He tried telling me he was bigger than my local dealer and could offer me more - I drive 3 hours where i live in Indiana passing ~12 Toyota dealers to go to my guy - I've bought ~12 Toyotas from him in 8 years cause he doesn't make my life difficult - I call, we talk, he sells, I buy! Houston has gotta do better than that! Was in Houston last week on a business trip and if we could have worked out the details I would have driven this sweet silver Tundra loaded Limited home. @AkioWasRight5 ай бұрын
It shouldn't be one or the other. In fact, the definition of "Efficient" means to achieve maximum productivity or output with minimal waste. With a good hybrid system, they should be able to increase power while also gaining fuel economy and improving overall efficiency. In the Taco's case, its IFM hybrid is just not that efficient. Same is true for the Tundra's Hybrid system. That's odd because Toyota's other hybrid systems are great at improving fuel economy and increasing power at the same time.
@austinwade31945 ай бұрын
Since it should be electronically operated, you should be able to program it to whatever you need. For fuel economy, ideally it would help you get up to speed/acceleration since that is where most of the MPG suffers around town. For highway driving the Hybrid system would need to be a little more nuanced to help MPG, such as assisting when going up grade. If all you were looking for is a more powerful tacoma, it might be cheaper to buy 3rd gen taco and do an engine swap with tundra (V35A-FTS twin-turbo V6), you'd probably achieve better gas mileage than the 4th gen hybrid tacos as well.

Hybrid really doesn’t work on highway it’s meant for city stop and go traffic. That’s were you will see better gas mileage so combined with highway probably 23mpg
