2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV RS AWD: Test Drive Review

My work just got one of these as a patrol car. I honestly did not want to like it, but I do. It rides nice, I found it comfortable and I like the styling. I may consider one for my commute to work as I currently drive a V8 Charger and while I love it, it’s thirsty. Would be nice to plug in the car at home.

This is a nice patrol car it reminds me of a Ford explorer a little bit.

I have test driven the 2024 Blazer EV and Prologue and the 2025 Equinox. I prefer the styling and packaging of the prologue. I liked driving the the Equinox EV best as I like the size better. The 2025 Blazer EV and the 2025 Equinox EV got a slight bump in horsepower to 300. That works better in the smaller Equinox. The Blazer has adequate hp but go drive a Mach e gt and then decide if you want adequate or exhilarating. I think the RS AWD should get a bump on hp to 350. It’s larger and heavier than most of the competition but has less horsepower than the Model Y, Ariya, Ioniq 5, Mach e, ID 4 and EV 6. It only beats out the BZ4X AWD, which is class leader in low horsepower. Well there is the RWD with 340 hp which is nice and the more expensive SS that isn’t out just yet.

I honestly believe that most EVs are driven in suburbs. I especially believe so because EVs fit best in price homes with garages that can accommodate fast chargers where owners can charge at home overnight or in a few hours for much less cost than at a charging station. My town has homes with an unusually high percentage of EVs but I also live in SE Florida which is also a great fit for EV ownership.

Too bad about the seats. I wonder if the Honda Prologue seats are the same. Seems to handle the speed bumps well.

He's only 5'8'' so if someone is over 6ft and the rear passenger is 6ft, there wouldn't be enough room. Cc

I disagree. I own this exact Blazer and the rear has plenty of room, even for someone over 6 feet! Just letting the community know.

Chevy Equinox Lt gets better range, cheaper and uses same battery 😂😂😂 better deal .

I think the Cadillac Lyriq is the better buy. It's quieter and has a better ride and better seat comfort. And doesn't really cost much more.

@@mjg1544 Well that's a matter of personal taste. I think the Lyriq is attractive. But what I really like is the better ride and quietness because at the end of the day, what counts is the driving experience. The Optiq seems promising, but "entry level luxury" always seems to over promise and under deliver.
