"If only they would...." The point being GM isn't building any form of a Chevelle. The only car with guts they are producing is the unrecognizable Vette. With the US moving to non hydrocarbon propulsion wouldn't it be something if the US auto industry built some gas guzzling bad ass monster horse powered old school muscle cars! And for the last of an era blow out, Texaco was given permit to turn out some high octane leaded fuel. Man! That brings back memories of Lion's Drag Strip in SoCal. The smoke of burn outs, being covered in specks of rubber, the deafening noise and the flaming exhaust! Raw power! Inspiring power! American horsepower!

I have never understood why Chevrolet hasn’t followed Ford’s release of the throwback Mustang or Chrysler’s re-boot of the iconic Challenger and their respective successes on both by bringing back a Chevelle like this. Clearly the market has been ripe for this idea. I’d say the Camaro was successful in that right, but uncomfortable. I rented one and was beat to death on Minnesota’s Hwy expansion joints. Plus the Chevelle could be made significantly more entry/exit friendly for the moneyed baby boomers rising in years. I’ve got my retirement money ready to buy!!!

I grew up with a 67 SS and it made my life so colorful....I actually owned a 67 SS factory SBC rare and a 72 SS factory SBC rare....And had order sheets on both....Both Cars took the hard way on the way out....I have so many stories and memories around both....the 67 exited life halfway up and through a telephone pole....the 72 in a 6 car pileup in winter Storm in the hills of Virginia.....Both had the power train and engine live on in other vehicles many years down the road....

I was a senior in high school 1967 could have bought so new 396 for 35oo didn't. Have the money had to settle for a used 66 GTO for. 2050 dollars never regreated it
