Slam dunk feature: they replaced the idiotic buttons to change transmission with a stalk, well done. Also added fog lights. And beautiful LCDs now even in base LS. And seats are softer. Air ball: price, but it was already expensive. So really none.

So glad Chevy didn’t get rid of the V8’s. It sounds good, it pushes as you can see 😂. Simple and nice, no hybrid system or electrification. One of the last true V8’s in the segment.

Great video and review! Also, thank you for pointing out that the 24" wheels are optional! I personally love the big wheel option, but considering the SUV is my wife's primary driver she'll pick which wheel option she wants. I will say her Denali has 22s and they ride great. They've got a little curb rash after almost 4yrs and 75k miles but no issues with bent wheels or blowout's to date, praise Jesus!

@@jordanburnette263 I knew once chevy updated the interior of the Suburban it was gonna be hard for GM to justify the higher price of the ESCALADE, but I recently seen a white 2025 Denali with the all black trim and I would definitely put that up there with the all new 2025 Lincoln Navigator

I like that Chevy offers a turbocharged diesel because you get great fuel efficiency for such a huge vehicle

Higher sidewalls = more air cushion = smoother ride. Especially when towing a trailer or large boat. I prefer 18-20”. My brother has same truck w 22” and the ride quality when towing is noticeably worse.

Just curious and no criticism at all, peaceful question. Lol. If the primary use is towing, why not opt for a pick-up truck? We use my wife's Yukon for travel and my F150 for when we need to haul/ tow?... If the SUV needs to fit every scenario, a base model with max trailering small wheels big tires is definitely your best option, likely not the High Country but LS/LT.

@@darellhunter2205 yeah good question. I have a 2024 Silverado 2500HD truck too along with a 2018 Tahoe. New Pickup has 20”. Old Tahoe has 18”. The PRIMARY use of my Tahoe is NOT towing. But sometimes I DO tow (6000-8000lbs) with it. As wheel sizes have trended larger over the past 5-10yrs I have found that for me, the ride is not as smooth. I comparing my ride to my little brothers vehicles. He has 22s on his 2500HD and 24s on his Suburban. There’s a lot of factors here. Part of it may be brand of tires too 🤷‍♂️ Also I’m an old guy - not really a fan of the look or paying a whole lot more for those size tires. So maybe it’s all my imagination 😄

Yes. People will pay for the additional engine hp and torque for comfort and towing. There is noticeable difference in the 5.3 vs the 6.2 in acceleration effort when pushing it. Not as much in cruising or normal driving situations.

When are the nagging and weird group of people that follow these trucks around to complain about 24-inch wheels being “too much” and also complain about the price being “too high” going to realize that they’re watching the wrong review? Go complain about the Chevy Trax not “needing” 24-inch or 19-inch wheels, isn’t watered down enough, but leave the $85,000 flagship Tahoe alone. This High Country is certainly worth its asking price and the folks they build them for can afford it. Meanwhile everything else in this segment at top trim should be $5k-$10,000 cheaper because they simply can’t compete and have failed to execute their designs at the level Chevrolet has here. They don’t even offer everything you’ll get with a higher trim Suburban or Tahoe.

Agreed. $85k is reasonable for the top trim level. Top trims of the competition (Expedition, Sequoia, Armada) are in the same ballpark. And honestly, the Tahoe is simply a better vehicle than most of them. It's stiffest competition is it's twin, the Yukon... so the High Country trim basically matches up against the Denali. All that said, it's too rich for my blood. 😆 Maybe one day.

People literally drive around right now with 28-inch & 30-inch wheels on their Yukons and Cadillac Escalades, not saying I agree with those size but you’re clearly out of touch with the after market. Everyone who buys a Tahoe doesn’t care to go off the beaten path either. A lot of folks who buy Tahoes plan to use them for their daily city commutes. Most folks buy *gm* because they want to ride in style, comfort, be surrounded in quality and the best tech for the money. There’s a reason why other manufacturers are following *gm’s* lead here and making wheels this large from the factory, clearly there’s a high demand for it even despite the fact YOU may not be one of those customers.

The weight of a Tahoe is literally NOBODY’s concern. The target buyer isn’t concerned with the weight. This specific wheel is solely for the purpose of looking upscale and expensive because they are, and there are customers who want that aesthetic especially on a $85,000 SUV.

24 inch rims don’t even look that big on this thing. These suvs have gotten huge to the point 22’s look a bit small on them.
