Dallas, GA.... Walmart 01/14/25....one dozen Great Value large eggs....$4.53! I needed eggs and we're supposed to get more snow, ice and cold weather. Only had 3 eggs left in the refrigerator from the last blast of cold weather. I remember when Walmart eggs were 89¢ a dozen. So in America we have lost the ability to raise chickens??? Come on Tyson clean up the way YOU raise your chickens because this constant "bird flu" excuse for price gouging is wearing thin.

In July 2024, I invested in eight, 18 month old hens and a rooster. A couple months later I had 76. 24 of them ended up in my freezer, but my pullets started to lay eggs at Christmas. If my math is correct, each egg cost me about $8! 😮 I’ve built four mobile coops and four brooders. That average egg price can only come down. I can’t complain. The chickens make me happy. 😊

Yes, Doctor! Please give us video on setting up chicken coop/run/chickens. I've wanted to have a few chickens for years and I just haven't figured out how to get started. Hawks? Yes, have them. Sloped yard? Yes. Large dogs? Yes. Close neighbors? Yes.

Trying to figure out how I'm going to raise chickens with no experience, and in my barn. I have concrete floors but it's a huge barn. Egg prices are just stupid right now! It's still too high, I bought eggs last night and they were over 5 dollars in Princeton, IN. a podunk town in SW Indiana. Looks like I'll have to figure out how to do this...
