i think disney channel type maximalism is definitely coming in 2025. everyone is gonna dress like Miley and Raven and I’m so here for it!!

I watched so many trend prediction videos and omg Girl this video was literally the most realistic. We are totally gonna mix late 2000s and early 2010s fashion this year, like you said in a Serena VDW type of way. Also i loved that you mentioned that Ozempic is also influencing our trends right now. I just love that this video was realistic because i‘ve seen so many videos with crazy predictions with things people will not wear or do if they don‘t live in big citys like NYC.
@alisonodette10 күн бұрын
thank you!! and yess I totally see late 00’s and early 10’s being mixed, it’s already happening with the boho revival and studs being mixed w bootcut/ slimmer jeans, I’m so excited and I wonder if it’s sticking around for a couple of years

why not just wear it even if it doesnt become a trend?
@elisechampion50232 ай бұрын
Oh I absolutely do base my style around this sorta vibe, although I do like to switch it up this is by far my fave. It's kinda hard/expensive to find pieces tho. I usually have to buy from expensive brands or secondhand. Now that it's becoming popular again more clothing lines are going to be selling pieces in this style. Since I'm 22 not 12 I can actually afford to buy them this time around- that's what I meant

This is not to denigrate your work, but I love watching trend analysis precisely because of how much it doesn’t impact everyday life, it’s a purely intellectual exercise. It’s sartorial divination. Past a certain age and demographic, fashion microtrends just disappear from public life, it’s like a completely different world. Seeing a Pinterest accurate girlie dressed to the nines is like seeing a nun in the club. On a more pertinent note, I loved Akris’ newest showing, and I also predict a return of a big old wool coat, possibly with huge shoulders.

oh totally! internet fashion can be so different from real life fashion and it differs depending on where you are in the world! i actually have a series on this called real life vs online trends/fashion around the world, and in my last video i touched on California/LA and talked about how it’s not really trendsetter anymore.

@shamanasinde29692 ай бұрын
@@loverollcake it depends on what your local area values tbh. miami/LA culture is more about casual comfort than experimentation and creative self-expression. it's why luxury HQs are rarely based in miami/LA but they are in NY, London, Paris etc. These cities are trend conscious and commercial stores like UO, H&M, Zara, Jaded etc. copy runway trends quickkk so it's accessible for the everyday person.
@snipping.thorns.14 күн бұрын
I live in West LA too and tbh I feel like a lot of the boring outfits are in the most gentrified areas and trendy areas. Venice, for example, used to have really individual and unique styles, but when Abbott Kinney changed, so did the styles you saw on the street. It's kinda sad. It's like the soul was sucked out and sold. But if you hang out with ppl in the underground art or rave scenes, they dress more colorful and more experimental

No,just wear what you want
@alisonodetteАй бұрын
I totally get what you mean-wearing what you want is important. But fashion is so much more than just personal choice or aesthetics. It's tied to culture, politics, and economics, and even the biggest fashion houses are influenced by larger shifts in society. Every year, fashion tells us something about where the world is at, and I love how it evolves in response to global events. Plus, even 'wearing whatever you want' is becoming a trend of its own in my opinion. Fashion, at its core, is a reflection of the times, and that's what makes it so interesting to discuss. But you don’t have to wear what everyone else is wearing, I have a bunch of videos discussing that.

Definitely same I'm 45 still have all my long necklaces and I still wear them. It's mostly for me to spice up my basic tops as in solid colors giving it a good pop of looking put together I suppose? Or I just love my long necklaces lol. Also love layering them as well. Ik no one wants skinny jeans back but I spent way too much money on my collection I'm def bringing them back out. I jumped into flared /wideleg and I miss seeing my curves well trying to have curves. There's so many young people that are against skinnies but everytime I go to mall I usually see them wearing them so that's confusing. Scarves are my go to as well in cold weather with a basic not too thick chunky. Omg I just can't get rid of clothes accessories ect but I thrift a good portion so that counts hahaaa. I just say I'll wear it again one day 🤷♀️ love your video I'm excited ❤

@@Shpdrp8080unless you’re really slim or in really in shape then skinny jeans don’t look that bad. Skinny jeans blindness is a real thing. For the Gen X and millennials that don’t know. That means you may think you look ok but you actually don’t.
