@rezap13562 ай бұрын
Got mine a week ago, and it's absolutely lovely. It drives as a pure EV more than half the time in the city, and the battery is replenished from kinetic energy, maintaining around 50% of charge at any time. Acceleration is quite good, to the point of being enjoyable. I'm yet to drive it on highway. Interior is quiet and very, very, neatly designed.

Love my ‘24 Tucson Hybrid zero problems, smooth quiet enough power and great mileage. This update seems to address my main issues with the cabin as I prefer the unified screen and the shifter on column (don’t like pushbutton shifter). My only gripe is to be able to turn off rear seat belt reminders my dog refuses to wear seatbelt! Hyundai’s tech is best in class! I also wish for more color choices in the interior.

In 2023 it came down to toyota rav4 or the Hyundai Tucson hybrids. We drove both but the Rav4 seamed to be a little dated though this certainly would not be a deciding issue on buying one.When I read about the Rav4 having problems on connections going to the rear electric motor and Toyota not wanting to fix them ( Toyota only has a 3 YEAR warranty) and it costing upwards of 4 or 5 THOUSAND dollars to fix, that made the decision for me. Why you ask, because Hyundai has a 5 year bumper to bumper on EVERYTHING warranty and a 10 year drive train warranty WHICH INCLUDES THE BATTERY. The hybrid has more than enough power and the ride is extremely comfortable, free oil change , tire rotation etc. for the first year. Gets 40+ MPG on the highway and around 36 in town. We have over 25000 miles on it already and not a rattle, it is as tight as when we bought it. So far not a hiccup, and I would have no problems purchasing one again. Now I know that 25000 miles on a vehicle is a limited time to assess the reliability of a vehicle but I've had vehicles with 1/3 as much mileage and a whole lot more problems.

Toyota also falsifies their safety data. There isn’t all that much to like about the brand.

This reads like it was written by a paid bot. First year free tire rotation and oil change, this is what you think about when considering a $30+K purchase? Does it also include free pinstriping and dealer-branded license plate frame?

Tom, It is hard to say how motivated Toyota is to make their top-selling RAV4 better. If they are interested in improving it, they should start by making it as spacious as the Tucson and CR-V.

Looks like a good option in the class, and always fun to see Team V in the videos. I do think Hyundai should use their normally aspirated 2.5L engine in their hybrids over the 1.6T engine though. The combination of the 1.6T and a 6 speed transmission does hurt the fuel economy a bit, which is the main reason people want a hybrid. Other than that and a few minor quibbles (shiny black plastic, etc), it seems to be well equipped and priced competitively in the market. I'll be honest, I was surprised to see it was in 5th place in sales in the class (thought it would be higher). I didn't realize Nissan sold so many Rogues (to capture 3rd place).
@nlmytube3 ай бұрын
I agree about engine choice. A big reason for Toyota's excellent hybrid efficiency is the naturally aspirated Atkinson cycle engine. Honda CRV's 2.0L NA hybrid is also Atkinson cycle.
@jeffer11013 ай бұрын
@@nlmytube Yes. A smaller turbo charged engine will make more power, but also likely spend more time in boost, which means it is burning more fuel (hence, less fuel efficient). It's still better on fuel than the non-hybrid, just not as good as it could be. The turbo engine is also more complex, more expensive and may be heavier.

Reviewers fail to point out that you can't comfortably rest your right elbow on the centre arm rest while holding the bottom of the steering wheel. This makes long drives much less comfortable. They should've made the centre arm rest overhand the phone charging tray a little to allow drivers to rest their elbow on the arm rest while holding the wheel.
@DrivenCarReviewsАй бұрын
That changes depending on your driving position. What may not work for you might be perfect for others.
@BobDTomWАй бұрын
@@DrivenCarReviews Driving position doesn't change the distance between steering wheel and centre arm rest. I'm 5'10". So if I have trouble holding bottom of steering wheel while comfortably resting my right forearm on the arm rest, many people, especially women, will too. With Tucson's steering wheel telescoped to the max, its steering wheel is 12" from front left corner of armrest vs. 8-9" on my 2014 CRV (IONIQ5 in showroom also had a smaller gap). Only 1-2" of my elbow rests on the corner of the Tuscon arm rest when holding bottom of wheel. When they introduced the phone charging tray, they moved the centre arm rest a few inches too far back.

These are the changes Hyundai needed to make. This new design in comparison to the 2022/23 model is so Disappointing!! What swayed me between Kia and all otger cars in that category was the unique dash/screen integration, the best I’ve seen in a modern car to date making it stand out from its competitors who have a clumsy screen awkwardly stuck on top of dash, which is also distracting! From a top class dash/screen integration to extremely basic… I’d hoped at the very least Hyundai would keep that unique style, and perhaps change the outer body, huge mistake as all its competitors are now in line with the same interior dash, actually I’ll go a step further, the new Tucson dash is a tray to store junk! It’s awful and for that reason I’m out! I’ll not be trading in my 2023 model for this new look next year!

Are you back to 14-minute videos that are padded with boring nonsense from corporate reps? The RAV-4 outsells the Tucson 2x only because Toyota cannot produce more, otherwise the ratio would be much higher. The RAV-4 Hybrid AWD is more economical, it does not look like has already been in an accident, and its instrument panel albeit being digital does not look like in-your-face computer tablet bolted to the dash. You talked a lot about the plug-in hybrid version without mentioning the RAV-4 also having plug-in version AND better fuel economy. "Baby mode" comes standard on Toyota hybrids thanks to smooth no-shifts eCVT. Gear shifts that "feel like a regular car" are plain stupid. I would watch a video about Hyundai's hybrid transmission though. All in all, worse than the RAV-4 Hybrid AWD in pretty much every metric. P.S. Chevy Equinox is an industry stalwart? This is a funny one.
