If I were a young, affluent parent looking for spacious transportation for 2-3 kids, I'm looking at this or Sienna. Those ridiculous jumbo crossovers like Traverses, Grand Highlanders, and Atlases are inferior to the minivan.

I love this but not in AWD, that's my only issue with it, I live in the northeast and I've read and watched videos these struggle in the snow even with snow tires.

Don't know what the market is like now, but not too long ago, Toyota had a long waitlist and Kia was extorting potential buyers, leading us to go with the Pilot. If AWD hybrid minivans were more plentiful with reasonable deals and long track records of good reliability, I'd agree they'd be more sensible vehicles for a lot of SUV owners.

The only thing bad is the crash test ratings for side impact is not looking good. Poor ratings for side impact crashes. You would think a people mover/family car would have extreme attention to this matter but unfortunately not.

I think the other vans would get similar ratings if they also got tested with the updated test. The Carnival would have easily passed the old side impact test

​@@ayushmalpeddi2793 They tested the Sienna with the new faster side impact and heavier battering ram and it still passed with a good rating. So did the Honda Odyssey, When you go to IIHS website look under the section that says 'Side: updated test'. Pacifca got Average, Carnival got Poor. Its the only minivan that failed the updated side impact test.

VERY POSSIBLE DEAL BREAKER for Me : dashboard shared soft touch display of Climate Control and Audio . You have to "toggle" between seeing Climate Control controls Or Audio controls - you cannot see both at same time. Creates situation where your eyes are not on the road as much as they should be . 1) I do not like having to "toggle" between audio or climate soft touch controls - I want to see both ; but if I must "toggle" between seeing audio or climate ; I can find a hard knob without taking my eyes off the road ; but the button on the KIA is soft touch and is trickier to find . Minor Nit Pick - I with all manufacturers would stop with the gloss black / piano finish on interior trim

I just bought the EX 2025 few days ago, good car overall, I was on a budget. Got a lot of space, good tech, no sunroof (preference), 8 seats, and pretty good in gas. The only hybrid company I trust is Toyota (sorry Kia, ugly truth). Flash News: AWD cars drink more gas, I drive in city, not snow, mud, dirt road... I need something with space. I'm ok with it.

Car companies are so funny. Here is a feature, a hybrid engine which will save you between $2k-$4k over the time you'll own the car. No no, we're going to charge you $2k-$4k markup for that soooo 🙌

I generally agree but Hybrid makes a lot more financial sense in states where Gas prices are much higher than the national average and/or if you're planning on putting a lot of city miles on it. That's 19 mpg on the gas version vs 34 mpg on the hybrid. Huge difference in the city. Hybrids also are quiet in EV mode and you get instant torque starting up.

If Kia keeps it's shoulder to the wheel they may get mileage that rivals that Sienna hybrid....eventually. The lack of AWD is notable too but you have to admire how far the Korean manufacturers have come in such a short time. It's a viable minivan alternative.

no ones losing sleep over going from 36 mpg to 32 mpg in exchange for better looks, more features and a lower price. You would need to drive at least 80k miles before you break even.

Why, Why, do all vehicles insist on having sunburnt roofs? When the manufacturers add that sunburnt roof panel to a solid roof it weakens the roof, adds a source of water and wind leaks, and a seal that won’t last the life of the vehicle. And added costs so you can open the slide curtain 1% of the time you drive them. With the USA is getting hotter and having longer heat cycles due to climate changes. In Arizona it is over 100 degrees over 100 days a year lets open the slide so you can feel the full effects of that direct sun on top of your head for hours as you are stuck in traffic or if in the rust belt let's open the slide so you are closer to the 10-degree weather in the cold winter. Or you can see the nighttime stars only if the vehicle is in the middle of nowhere because of all the light pollution in the cities and suburbs is so prevalent. If you want a sunburnt glass roof make it an option not a standard feature. I go to the highest interior offered until I hit the model with a standard sunburnt roof feature. It makes no sense, that if you order the tow option, you get a bigger alternator, bigger automatic cooler, a bigger radiator, a tow hitch receiver that stops the rear-end collision from pushing deeper in the back end of the vehicle, and other features that help make the vehicle last longer and run cooler. Whereas the sunburnt roof hurts the longevity of the vehicle it will leak both water and air a lot earlier than a solid metal roof.

I dont drive around in snow days especially with kids. So AWD isn’t deal breaker for me. Just Pre-ordered Carnival Hybrid. Let’s see how it goes.

I love my 21 Sienna. 37 MPG avg and comfortable ride. The Kia is nice though.

Sienna is nice but dated too. Even the 2024s still coming with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 when their other vehicles have TSS 3.0. The tech, especially cameras are very behind. But they have reliability and AWD on their side.

@@Jallelab99141 yea but Sienna still is the standard. AWD, reliable, and best MPG. Even at the tail end of its current generation, the current sienna is still the one to beat. I would expect the next generation sienna will really widen the gap once again-----except for interior amenities. Toyota interior features always suck compared to most brands, but the trade of course is AWD, reliable and best mpg

No thanks. No AWD. Top trim still looks cheap. Steering wheel looks like they stole it from Toys R Us. The rear entertainment system looks like they crazy glued it on. And it has more plastic than Kim Kardashian!
