Exactly, at this point I don’t think they will ever do anything to the engine, I also don’t believe they will give it a better transmission. But come on, at least update the infotainment system. The is infotainment is worse than Toyota, their own product

It's not even the "ultra luxury" model. The ES350 base model point blank has the updated infotainment, removed the god awful trackpad, added a place to put your phone and wireless charging, and all of a sudden it looks bearable. I know the argument is that no one should care about the interior if you get an IS because that's not the point of this car, but I don't want a car's interior from the 2010s.

I love my IS. There are rumors that 2026 will be an all new model with a 2.0 turbo 4 cylynder, making more than 400hp on higher end models.

Good luck finding a “base” IS500 Performance. They exist on paper only. Every 2024 that shows on the Lexus website is a Premium trim.

I would agree that for the upgraded equipment you get on the Premium, it is a good deal. What’s obnoxious however is the presumed existence of an “entry level” version. Sure seems to almost be false advertising.

I'm 2 1/2 years and 32K miles in and I love my IS500 more and more everyday! Definitely the best bang for your buck in my opinion. I swapped out the Bridgestones for Michelin PS4S tires at the 7K mile mark, switched to full synthetic oil (Lexus uses a blend by default), and installed the aFe dry air filter. This car is amazing around town or even better up in the twisty mountains, I love it. Thanks for posting!

Check if Lexus fixed bumper sagging. It's a design flaw in 3IS refresh. All models sqg and IS 500 exhibit it faster. The TSB was a joke with epoxy and glue on a 72K car. They added auto mirrors finally.

In been a Cadillac guy in the past, Iv still got my 05 SRX V8 and 07 XLR. but its been a long time since Cadillac has built anything thats cought my eye. If i wer lt the market for luxury vehicle now Id probably go for a Genesis, if I were going for a sport sedan I'd go for the the IS 500 F, manual transmission. I can build the IS to my liking for about 67k. To get anywhere close to a V8 Cadillac with a manual transmission you are looking at a BASE price of just under 96k!

Last year until they re-release another V8. Same thing they did in 2008 with the ISF 5.0 V8 which you can buy for like $25k rn. Nothing special, nothing rare same churn and burn they do every 5-10 years. V8s are money printers, you really think the EPA regulations will slow the economy? Not gonna happen

I love my IS500. I guess its underrated like most Lexus vehicles. Its not appreciated until 15 years after its gone. I put a Borla exhaust on mine. I did wake it up i'm not to crazy about it on the highway. I wish someone could mimick the LC500's sound. Flare Yellow is going to be hard to find 💛. That's a subtle nod to it's 25th Anniversary and IS300 back in the day.
