As Lexus TX350 (Canadian trim Ultra Luxury) owner for already one year, can't agree. This car is much more fuel efficient than my previous Lexus RX350L 2021 (yes, I know, RX uses Regular). 2.4L turbo engine is good enough for this family hauler even with all 7 people inside. Also, once comparing TX to Grand Highlander, need to remember the differences in multimedia, safety systems, seats (front ones are much more comfortable, second row has electric release button and third row has electric open/close buttons), materials etc. And, let's remember the biggest advantage of Lexus in North America (in Canada for sure, in US as far as I know) - service level. Once I'm arriving to the dealership, I got fresh coffee and snacks, ride home/work and back, external and internal wash and positive attitude.

As an owner of the TX 350, I think Kirk's views are way off, as he's constantly had negative things to say about it from day one. And I'm not biased by any means b/c I though the TX was ugly as sh*t when it first debuted online. But after seeing it in person, I realized that it is quite good looking in person. The Grand Highlander in person, on the other hand, does not stand out at all. Literally every time I see one, my brain automatically thinks it's a Rav4 or regular Highlander. It is extremely cookie cutter and just not my cup of tea, at all. Also, Kirk says the 2.4L in the TX 350 isn't as smooth as a V6 would be. COMPLETELY unfounded statement. We OWN a 2024 TX 350 and a 2024 Acura MDX Technology Package and there is NOTHING smooth about the V6 in the MDX and the TX 2.4L is definitely smoother and way less gruff and loud than the MDX. TX is smoother by a significant degree. Also, Kirk has continuously said the TX350 isn't a great deal compared to the Grand Highlander. Again, completely disagree. I actually was going to purchase a Grand Highlander Hybrid Max. But after realizing it is the SAME PRICE as the TX 350, I realized what a great deal the TX is and it solidified my opinion that the TX350 is a better choice. Why would I get a maxed out Toyota when I can get a Lexus for basically the same price? Sure, the hybrid in the GH is cool, but I don't really need it, as I don't drive often (work from home most days). Also, having a digital rearview mirror, and panoramic roof (more headroom without it too) are not dealbreakers for me. On the other hand, as someone pointed out in another comment, the Lexus has a better warranty (4yr.50k vs 3/36) bumper to bumper, 6yr/70k vs 5yr/60k powertrain, better sound deadening and ride; painted fender well trim and lower cladding vs black plastic; hood struts under hood vs prop rod on any GH; power tilt/telescopic steering wheel vs manual on any GH; Lexus dealership and service experience far superior; better resale value and on and on. If anything, the TX 350 is the BEST option in the entire TX lineup. I would argue the opposite of Kirk: the HYBRID TX options are the ones that are a bad deal compared to the GH because of the huge price gap. If having a hybrid was super important to me (it isn't), THEN I would say the GH is a good choice over the TX. But if you don't care about having a hybrid engine (like me), then the TX 350 is a no-brainer vs. the GH, (for all the reasons noted above) especially since they're basically the same price. Kirk constantly and completely dismissing the base TX350 and insisting that the GH is automatically a better option is absolutely crazy to me because he's dead wrong. Maybe for some people, the GH is a better option. But for me (and many others) the TX 350 is the better option and it's not even close. I'd never even consider getting a GH just as long as the TX 350 remains at around the same price.

We currently have a 2022 Lexus 450hl, and love its comfort. But we are looking for more seating because, as you know, the 450hl has an absolutely useless 3rd row! Very aggravating. Sorry, but this is bull. I OWN a Lexus TX and I LOVE it. TONS of space (not just for people and luggage, but also for cups, misc. crap, etc). Very nice. Smooth quiet ride. We also OWN a 2024 MDX, and while I love that car too, I definitely prefer driving the TX 8 times out of 10.

Quick Google search sales numbers for 2023 guys, I don't have to lie to anyone here. 2024 numbers aren't out yet but will probably not change. I didn't say TX wasn't a good SUV, I said it wasn't priced right to compete. Most people will compare the TX to highlanders and MDXs and go with those because they can save thousands for basically 90-95% of the same car. It was also said on the video.
@CK-1000Ай бұрын
@@klkcruzklk It depends. Personally, I’d much rather have the base TX 350 over the Grand Hylander Hybrid Max (they are basically the same price). In fact, I initially planned on purchasing a GH Hybrid Max, but for several reasons, decided I’d much rather have the TX for the same price. We also purchased a 2024 MDX (Technology Package) and it’s a great car, but there are several things about the TX that I like better. For some people, the MDX may be a better option, but definitely not for me (which is why my wife drives the MDX 95% of the time and I drive the TX 95% of the time). And I don’t agree with your comment that Lexus can’t make a decently priced 3rd row SUV. The MDX Tech and Lexus TX 350 we bought were essentially the same price (high $50s) and the TX is an EXCELLENT 3rd row SUV just like the MDX (albeit, for different reasons). So clearly the TX 350 is decently priced. But I’d agree with you that the hybrid TX variants are a little pricey compared to the competition.

You’ve lost the plot - TX needs 350h, just like RX and akin to GH Hybrid 2.5. How do you keep missing this?
@KirkKreifelsАй бұрын
I think it's too underpowered for a luxury 3 row. The 350h is perfect in the NX, ES, and a little under powered for RX. The TX needs 450h+, 500h, and 550h+
@BobKUSA-gz8wjАй бұрын
@@KirkKreifels But not for a family-oriented luxury 3-row - that's the key. Granted, it would need a wallop of sound insulation to counter the eCVT drone. Add option for 2nd-row bench and you can have 6 or 7-seater for that segment. Then only need to cloak the front clip and you've got a ringer.

I know that a lot of posts online are when owners are having issues, but some of the build quality on the GH/TX seems pretty suspect for Toyota/Lexus.

Sir build quality of the TX/GH is perfectly excellent. There will be some people complaining regardless how good it is
@storey13Ай бұрын
@@Mylifeislegendary982vd3-vI Just one example of the quality I'm talking about are people accidently making a dent when manually closing the rear liftgate manually. People are saying if feels like when you accidentally put a dent in a soda can. That is how thin it feels to owners. A tailgate shouldn't be so thin where it will bend and dent with a manual close.

Toyota is really letting Lexus die a slow death… there is clearly not enough effort being put in to differentiate the equivalent models to justify the $10-20k premium that you pay for the Lexus and in the instance of the TX not having the 350h and 8 seater on hybrids is a huge problem. Just adds to the list of Lexus models being neglected like CT, UX, IS, ES, LS with only the SUVs getting any attention

G'day it's Steven from Down Under Firstly let me say that unlike many people Toyota is not on my default setting, and as for Lexus, no thank you. I recall it was circa 1990 when Lexus first appeared here in Sydney, they had just one model and it was a blatant rip-off design directly from Mercedes, and just a few years before that Toyota did the same thing again with the Prado, similar in name, size and features as the mighty Mitsubishi Pajero ( Montero )...so if you can't beat em, copy them I suppose. Let's face the facts here without bias and being objective, Toyota has cleverly designed and disguised its Toyota vehicles as a faux European brand called Lexus, and is ripping off the consumer, it's as simple as that. Furthermore there's far too much visible Toyota DNA in Lexus too, as for design which of course is subjective, Lexus designs, inside and out are getting too busy and cluttered, there's no typical beautiful yet restrained European styling in sight. And don't get me started on the scandals and issues within Toyota itself. I enjoy Kirk's reviews and unbiased options, and I would like to see an in-depth video about the problems and scandals at Toyota, now that will be interesting.

Steven From down under. 1. LS400 was no copy of any Mercedes. whatsoever In any level . Instead only a little influenced otherwise its pure Lexus design. To this day LS is a world class flagship full size luxury sedan. 2. Lexus are not Toyota products whatsoever. Instead only sharing a platform or engines just like Audi does the same thing with VW Lamborghini Porsche. 3. Lexus is a world class luxury brand and good as Mercedes BMW Audi and more. A proper brand. 4. Toyota has issues sure but so does every other company like VW-diesel gate. 4. Europeans no longer has elegant and simple design from bmw Mercedes to Audi. All them are massive grills with tacky screens .like hyper screen nonsense. Lexus designs have no toyota DNA whatsoever. Everything you said is personally biased and sound like typical hateful European automotive journalist would say back in the day saying conspiracy theories.

100% hard disagree. We own a 2024 MDX Technology Package and a 2024 TX 350. I love the MDX overall, but there are several things that suck about it and I much prefer driving our TX 8 times out of 10. For starters, it's cramped as hell inside compared to the TX. Second of all, in the MDX, there aren't many random nooks and storage places at all to put miscellaneous items like there are in the TX (REALLY important when you have young kids and drinks and random items with you). Also, in the MDX, II hate that you have to pull down the middle seat in the second row to get to the cupholders; it leaves an unsightly and ugly gap in the middle. I've already alluded to this, but compared to the TX, the MDX is very narrow and claustrophobic. The design of the cargo cover in the MDX is horrific and it is very difficult to put in and take out (and I think the cargo cover came standard with our TX and it is way easier to use and better designed). The back up camera in the MDX is blurry and muddy compared to the TX. There is no kick sensor in the MDX but it is standard with the TX. The infotainment screen in the TX is FAR superior and easier to use, much bigger screen too. Also, Lexus service centers are better than Acura's and it's not even close. Acura service centers are like Honda's. Getting your car serviced at Lexus is a far more pleasurable and luxurious experience. Some things I like about the MDX over the TX. The model of MDX we got is essentially the same price as the TX 350 we got, but the MDX comes with leather (though the nuluxe in the TX is honestly better than leather, but it's just the principle). The MDX comes with a pano roof and a 12.3 inch speedometer screen behind the steering wheel, the TX does not (which is ridiculous). And the MDX has a V6 (even though, in some ways, I feel the 4 cylinder in the TX is actually better, shockingly). Also, MDX has more interior color options. Our MDX has gorgeous brown leather. The TX options are basically black, dark brown (which basically looks black) and white.
