Great video! I have the Altima SR 24 with the Sky Gray Pearl paint. 12.3 inch infotainment screen and heated seats. I’m 6’2” so the Altima fits me better. Plus I have the AWD which is sometimes needed in Northeast PA. I wish someone would do a side by side driving comparison of the Altima SR vs the Altima SR turbo. A lot of reviewers complain about the lack of power on the non turbo and I’m just not getting that from driving experience. It has plenty of power. It’s not a Charger or GT Mustang but I believe it holds its own in its respective class. Thanks for the videos, you do nice work!!

There’s a reason why the Sentra is sticking around and they are killing off the Altima and Maxima line ups

I love both but I say the Nissan Sentra SR with the Premium Package is the way to go. Much better deal. For under $29,000.00 the Sentra SR with Premium Package you get everything this one in the video has plus Leatherette Seats, Power Driver Seat, Heated Steering Wheel, 360 Cameras, Power Sunroof, Bose Audio System, Nissan Connect, WIFi, and more! So many more features for thousands less. Plus the standard Sentra SR Alloy Wheels are super sharp and way better looking than those bland extra cost black alloys that cost to much as an add on accessory. The standard SR Alloy Wheels are a nice Black and Silver Two Tone Wheel and look sporty and are the same size. I really do like the look of the Altima and the availability of AWD. The Altima is sharp especially in the Tactical Green with the Bronze Wheels for 2025 on the Altima SR but I feel in that trim it is just missing too many features for the price. I will say though they seem to offer really good rebates and dealer discounts on the Altimas and my local Nissan Dealer (Timbrook Nissan) at times offers between $2,000.00 -$3,500.00 off MSRP. So keep that in mind too. In the end the decision comes down to what you like best and what fits your needs and personal preference best. Now if you take a look at IIHS Crash Testing you see that the 2024-2025 Sentra is much safer than the 2024-2025 Altima. The Sentra scores much better in the updated side crash test, slightly better in the roof strength test during a roll over with a higher weight before crushing and overall the Sentra seems to have a stronger better made structure than the Altima and you can really see that in the after crash photos between the 2 on IIHS Updated Side Crash Test plus the individual ratings. The one place the Altima does better on IIHS is its LED headlights perform much better than the Sentra SR LED headlights in distance and brightness. The Sentra SR has Reflector LEDs and the Altima has Projector LEDs. Also the Sentra SR does have LED DRLs its the reflector portion of the headlight closest to the grill that lights up as the DRL on it. The Altima has an actual DRL curved accent strip. My 2023 Nissan Kicks SR Premium has the Reflector LED headlights and its LED DRLs are the same way and the reflector portion of the headlight closest to the grill lights up as the DRL. Also keep in mind the Altima has LED headlights on all trims where as the Sentra only offers LEDs on the top trim SR with all other trims (S & SV) having very dimly lit halogen bulbs. I have had LEDs in my past 3 new vehicles a 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross SEL Touring, 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage SE and now my 2023 Nissan Kicks SR and once you have LEDs you cannot go back to Halogens as the visibility in so poor with Halogens once you have LEDs. Again in my overall opinion I think the Nissan Sentra SR with Premium Package is the way to go if you want a fully loaded sedan that is sporty looking, great on gas, reliable, roomy, and extremely safe crash wise. It also has a 2.0L naturally aspirated 4 cylinder that has been out for years and proven its durability and does not have GDI to cause carbon build up and no expensive turbo to cause issues in the future. Now as far as the CVT (Transmission) goes yes Nissan had some issues years back but not anymore they are no different than any other brands CVT reliability wise. Nissan CVTs are made by Jatco and our past 7 vehicles (6 Mitsubishis and 1 Nissan) since 2014 until now have all had Jatco made CVTs as Mitsubishi and Nissan share transmissions with different model names and it all comes down to regular maintenance. Change the CVT fluid every 30,000 miles and you are good. Again ai have owned 7 vehicle’s now with Jatco made CVTs and did the maintenance and had no issues and same goes for several of my co workers. Toyota was always the reliable option but their reliability has tanked as of late due to new turbo engines and transmission issues. All because of new designs where Toyota was always good using tried and true engines for years and years keeping reliability up. If you go with the 2.5L naturally aspirated 4 cylinder is the way to go as its a proven reliable engine and overall its well designed and simple. However their newer VC-Turbo 2.0L 4 Cylinder in the Altima (no more in 2025) and VC-Turbo 1.5L 3 Cylinder in the Rogue has had its fair share of issues from being a new design and over engineering. I much prefer a naturally aspirated simple engine any day.

Who are you and who do you work for 😂? That was a pretty detailed review. And you’re right, that SR Altima with the green paint and the gold wheels is fire. I like the size of the Altima. To me the Sentra looks like it’s trying to be like its older brother. Just not quite there yet.

The 2.0 Turbo is not new it’s been around since 2018/19. It’s Japanese built unlike the 1.5 T and is becoming standard in some new infinity SUV models. They have an NHTSB investigation based on alleged failure on a handful of 1.5s but it does not appear to be widespread and practically non existent in the 2.0 T . Also a VC Turbo SR is fully loaded like an SL including pro pilot assist. But it’s not available in AWD or the 2025 year model. I agree the CVT is no longer an issue but it still has PR problems preventing adoption by other car owners. I’ve owned 2 Altima and follow the service recommendations and had no CVT issues. Sentra makes sense for budget minded or smaller drivers.
