You don't need Tesla app for charging at a Tesla charging station. With Rivian's recent agreement w Tesla, you just plug in and you get billed through your Rivian account. It's seamless.
@kenyattaclay766610 күн бұрын
Unless something has changed you don’t have to go into the app to unlock your doors. You have to go into your settings and turn on your walkway lock/unlock and when you get close it will unlock. I will say sometimes you have to wait a second or two but I’ve never once had to go into my app and I have a gen 1 R1T.

If you don’t have a FOB, this is your only other option.
@kenyattaclay766610 күн бұрын
@ I just looked it up & according to their website if you have your phone as a key set up you should be able to use the walkway lock/unlock feature even on a gen 2. I never carry my key fob with me and it works. If it’s not working you may want to have the service center look into it but it doesn’t look like it’s a feature that they took away.

I’m a recent convert from Tesla. Commenters are correct. Walk up and walk away works exactly like Tesla. If anything it’s slightly more aggressive and unlocks sooner.

The Tesla app for charging is only required if you pay the monthly subscription fee for reduced rates. If you have a credit card on your Rivian account, you can just plug in at a Tesla supercharger and it'll just charge to that.

I have the same model of Rivian. I'm overall loving it. Initially I would have agreed about he muddled sounding audio. With the recent update last week, the audio sounds much better. Does not sound muddled in my vehicle anymore. Which software version were you using when making this video?

Like the Gen1 better. The Gen2 Rivian was cheapened up and the lack of turn signals in headlights is a bad design. The lack of a Meridian stereo that was in Gen1 is a big minus too. 23:09 , yes, audio in Gen 2 and late Gen1 does suck. The hvac in the Gen 2 is very loud too.

I'm an X owner (recent upgrade) often wishing I opted for the Rivian (gave up my reservation!) but stuck with Tesla for charging reliability, seat comfort, and a few other things. Which brings me to my question of seat comfort - how are they on longer drives?! I have back issues so soft and supporting matters. My sense was Rivians' are perhaps too firm. Thoughts?? (I do LOTS of 2K+ mile drives!) Excellent comparison though - now I'm more interested than ever!

I was saying that when your phone is set ad a key, there’s not a manual way to get in unless it’s completely unlocked (handles open). On my Tesla, I could depress the handle and it would initiate the unlock sequence (not keep handles extracted at all times).
