I just purchased a 2025 Touring XT, and it is an incredible car. Fast, smooth, and just about the right size. 👌🏼

We have a 22 Legacy Limited XT and the acceleration and highway passing ability are excellent... and this is coming from someone who also drives V8 muscle cars. To me, while nice cars overall, the 2.5 doesn't get the job done.

We bought a 2020 legacy premium which was the first year of this generation in 2020 3 weeks before the covid lockdowns started. We picked it mainly for value and safety ratings but we also wanted something with conservative styling. We just hit 100k the other day. Pros are the interior and paint has held up pretty well, all the tech works well, it has a nice ride, and the brakes are great. Cons are the trunk is a on the small side for the class and the engine is a little loud under throttle. Power is adequate with the base engine and I've driven the turbo which is a big improvement but it's not like you don't get where you need to go with the base motor. We haven't had any unexpected repair costs. Overall I'm happy with the purchase. This car replaced a bare bones 2008 Sonata which didn't have any frills but lasted 225,000 miles needing almost no repairs.

I bought a 2024 Legacy Premium in December 2023, similar to this vehicle but silver exterior. Will obtaining parts in the future be a problem since it’s being discontinued?
@AutomotiveAnonymous2084 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t think so, there’s still many parts that are shared with the Outback and other Subarus mechanically. Plus there’s well over 100k 6th gen Legacy’s in the U.S. which isn’t crazy rare, compared to say a vehicle that only has 12k total units. Those are at least my thoughts!

Just as he said, the Legacy and the Outback have always been the same car. The Legacy is the sedan version, and the Outback is the wagon with lifting springs. In fact, the original Outback was a Legacy station wagon with a trim and suspension package.

Still want a Legacy and think it is not a great move for Subaru to take away their only midsized or larger sized sedan. What else will people be able to get in it's place at Subaru? Certainly not an Impreza. We will have to look elsewhere sadly.

If the Ford Motor Company is coming back with there new mid size car for 2025 maybe Subaru needs to rethink getting rid of their Legacy model. 6 years ago the US manufacturers stopped producing mid size cars and gave it over to the Japaneses and the Koreans and now they are rethinking it, so Subaru SUV's and trucks may not be a good idea anymore.

I hadn’t heard that Ford was going to be releasing a sedan again, that would be cool!! Are you in the North American market?

Subaru makes more money in selling SUV’s. It’s cheaper to produce a vehicle with a Hatchback than a vehicle with a trunk

@@Doc1855what data do you have that a sedan is more expensive to make than an SUV? Subaru makes more $$$ on SUV because they sell a ton of them each year!
@Doc18554 ай бұрын
@@FordEnthusiast413 You missed the point. Of course they make more money selling SUV’s, but that’s because it’s cheaper to manufacture each one than it is to manufacture a sedan. When you figure that a Hatchback uses 2 hinges and the whole back of the vehicle is 1 to 2 pieces of sheet metal. In a Coupe or sedan, the structural integrity has to be different. Then you have the rear fenders and the trunk lid. On a SUV, you don’t need the fenders per se’, just the hatch. Because of my profession, I tend to read a LOT and do a lot of research on many different subjects.

in 2011 i went to go look at a 2001 outback for about 10k, i ended up coming home with a 1999 legacy wagon for 5k outback is an overpriced nameplate i'm sad to see it go because there are some people who just don't need a wagon, NEW they are comparable but its used where the wagon just resists depriciation, its hard to want to buy an outback when the forester exists.

@jimjohnson40722 ай бұрын
Can on price. Can on a far superior AWD system. Also bonus points on standing out with the flat 4. I considered the Camry, but about $7k more on base with AWD, vs Legacy. Also for ease of home maintenance, I didn’t want a hybrid. Yeah great MPG but we don’t hurt that much for gas money anyway. AWD was our main factor. I want mechanical full time AWD and not electric motor powered reactive AWD. Camry is great, but a different formula of a sedan. Legacy has its place. Sadly Subaru drivers, are just more the SUV types.. It’s those who pretend they’ll take it “adventuring” yet their crosstreck never leaves pavement lol. Also a hatch only has more cargo space, if you don’t mind the rear window being obstructed. Also more dangerous as cargo can enter the cabin space during a crash. Most people won’t properly secure their stuff. A soup can could crack a skull in a crash 🤷🏻♂️
