I think this is the first ever USDM subaru to have a full digital dash, that kind of caught me off guard to see, i dont even think the brand new 2025 forester has a digi dash

'85 Subaru XT had a full digital dash. In tasteful early 80's orange/tan/red/brown tones.

yeah, they've had it in Japan since 2020 but have always gatekeeped it because angry loud old people on facebook complain about digital clusters (even though they're more way more legible and reliable), so even 2025 Forester and 2025 Crosstrek gets analogue gauges, but I'd say 2026 Outback should have it. Honestly, most normal people (not angry old farts on facebook) I talk to in person prefer digital clusters just because they look cleaner and again, way easier to read speed readout, driver assistance, maps and everything. The current clusters are ridiculously cluttered, like they're cramming as much information into that tiny LCD screen as possible, it actually makes it harder to read.

@@xan2242 As a 22 WRX owner, I do think the digital dash is more functional. However, it's kinda nice to have analog gauges in what is supposed to be a back to basics manual equipped car. And, Subaru's UI design is awful - the fonts are ugly, the boxes look weird, and the brushed steel look on the digital tachometer just looks chintzy.

I've had an STI since 2017 and I'd gladly trade it in for the tS. The FA24 engine outclasses the EJ25 in every possible way. STi badge or not, the tS is superior to every STi that's ever been made.

they do have a wagon version but it's not sold in the USA because no one would actually buy it.

It is unfortunate this WRX moved towards electronic dashboard and those massive screens. I hate screens!!! Subaru should learn a thing or two from Mazda MX5 dashboard and simplicity. Electronic screens ages miserably.

24 base can be had for 29-31k right now. I got one a few months ago. I’m sure I’d enjoy the interior/suspension of ts/tr, but I couldn’t justify spending more than 30k with how much I drive. I definitely prefer the analog dash, too.

After I bought my '24 WRX & hearing "its th best wrx ever". I was pretty excited because these newer cars are medicore at best. I got a base with a STI STS. 33k 2.9% 513/month. Its comfortable. Has decent acceleration & decent gas if you drive normal. I still like my '10 IS F WAY more though. The big screen is cool but too much for me. Ill continue to daily my 92 tercel in the mean time.

Manual transmission and suspension. You can buy a manual in base but without upper options until now.

The competitive advantage the WRX has is definitely the price, and I say that as someone who enjoys the VB, but at the TS trim, I would get a GRC or even MSRP Type R which seems more common now.

If you want value Get the lower trims If you want exclusivity and something more fun on the track / back roads, get this trim. It’s got a digital display from Japan , gold brembo brakes with cross drilled rotors, selectable drive modes that tweak engine and steering inputs, adaptive dampers, recaro seats, special blue leather and suede trims, and special badging, and 19” wheels with summer performance Bridgestone rubber.

It’s good to hear it has an adjustable suspension. I have a 2019 STI that came with 19” wheels & 245/35R19 tires like this TS. The stiff ride is fine for short trips, but it just tires you out on longer trips. I installed stock 18” WRX wheels with 245/40R18 tires and like the ride better.

Since they discontinued the Impreza sedan (and will be discontinuing the Legacy) how about a non-turbo version priced like a base Civic/Sentra/Corolla/Jetta.

That's just a regular Impreza. Nobody buys sedans anymore but you can still buy a base hatchback

I really love Imprezas, but tbh this one just isn't it. Not saying it's a bad car, but a digital dash and a Sportsmode for the suspension isn't something special today, you can have that in an Audi A1... And it's really not what an Impreza is about, they can't make it more STIish by adding some toys, the only way to build a STI is to actually build one. They build a decent new BRZ, why didn't they make the impreza with the same spirit?

The WRX line diverged from the Impreza a few generations ago. Subaru has pivoted to being a lifestyle and light off-road brand. They sell enough Crosstreks and Foresters that they don't really need a halo performance car.

@@bwofficial1776 Yeah, just like McDonald's doesn't have to actually sell good burgers because they have great branding and people buy it anyway. But nobody argues that McDonald's burgers are actually good... Mitsubishi also doesn't have to build Performance cars, their regular cars sell much better, that's why they don't build sportscars anymore. But nobody argues that their cars are boring ass... I get what you are saying, but that doesn't make the car any better. At this point you could just buy an audi a3 and be fine

This Subaru digital cluster cockpit should be on every Subaru like WRX and Forster and Outback, which is a shameful for 2025, the Civic type R is way better in my opinion
