You are the first one I've seen that commented on how the WRX likes to be shifted. I've had my 2024 WRX Premium since June and its a weekend treat for me to drive the rural backroads of southern Maine, but I'm still figuring out the sweet spot(s) when it comes to shifting. Overall its a fun car to drive and I cannot wait until May of 2025 so I can put the summer tires back on the car.

As a recent owner of a 24’ Limited my only tip for the best shift point for me is 3.5k RPM anything below that and the car kind of bogs and higher you need to be under load to stay comfortable

I bought a VB base for 29k. and 0% percent apr. It is now or never to own one. Get your deals. awd and an intake adds up to 50 whp. And the community is such a pleasure to be with. I also have a type r. But i will never forget such a overall wonderful experience with a wrx.

I am a car owner from Taiwan. I have placed an order and am waiting. After watching this video, I found that the blue seats and digital instrument panel are extremely beautiful. I like it. It is a pity. I will upgrade the accessories myself in the future.😢

This is probably the best explanation I’ve heard for how the WRXs manual works 👍
@alexp6409Күн бұрын
I felt the same way about the manual in my BRZ. The 4-5 shift was the trickiest, if driving casually the revs dropped a little too quick and would make for a lurch shift. I eventually figured out to keep my foot on the gas ever so slightly and that really helped smooth things out.
@iManual6peedКүн бұрын
I agree the price is a bit high but these will sell for under MSRP guaranteed. But you guys are missing the point on why they don’t do an STI you can make so much power so much potential in this car. Go get a damn Corolla if you want your diff controller lol. This car is phenomenal. And reliable.

i hear people are getting them at mid to high 39k for the 24 tr model, that seems like a pretty good option. i would want to get the 25 ts myself for the adaptive suspension upgrade, the digital dash, the blue seats and ts badge, but for the price difference you could get some coilovers later and save like nearly 8k. i got an oil change yesterday and was walking around the tr thinking about maybe a year later the ts will be possible at 39-41k. i found just speeding up the actual moving of the shifter, i was able to get better shifts in more chill driving, but i also think im not very good haha. any day will be going cobb stage 2 when it shows up

For anyone that’s worried about this being a “hard manual to drive,” I was very insecure with my manual driving when I bought it. I drove tractors and a 1991 Toyota pickup. THOSE are hard manuals to drive! This wrx will be a breeze I promise. 1st and 2nd is super jerky, won’t dispute that, but it will encourage good manual driving habits.

I love the Subaru Crosstrek Sport but that WRX sounds like a LOT OF WORK LoL I saw a used 2018 Porsche 718 Boxster with 33K miles on the clock for $45K today which is a superior sports car in every way if society isn't afraid of something not brand spanking new with 0 miles.
@micahstoryКүн бұрын
My STi does the same thing with shifting…you really have to learn it to get smooth shifts. It’s because of the driveshaft from what I’ve heard and it goes away a bit with certain drivetrain modifications (transmission, motor, and pitch stop mounts). I have done all those and it’s diminished quite a bit. Another one that’s supposed to help is a carbon fiber driveshaft.
@john889020 сағат бұрын
Yep, my 2016 STI has the same drivetrain stutter when shifting. Going to solid bushings helps but it didn’t eliminate the stutter completely
@JacesOwnWorld5 сағат бұрын
That OEM steering wheels looks like “Temu” quality IMO. The digital dash looks nice but the center info screen looks so out of place for that interior. And the fact that Subaru didn’t even make the dash face the driver, for better ergonomics, is just crap.
@preventer333Күн бұрын
holding in another year or two to see if STi is still coming back or not... this platform is too damn good to not to offer STi. Unless Subaru completely stomps foot and claims that there will not be a STi for the VB, I'm going to hold. Too much rumormill being thrown around for the VB STi.

not really. I got the highest trim available with a manual in 22, a limited. paid 39.5k otd. the Recaros, the brembos, the adaptive suspension is worth much more than 5k. a Bremo kit alone is around 5k .. this is not for base buyers, and I don’t say that with disrespect to anyone. it’s economics everything is expensive now.

Actually, the WRX is the most unreliable of all the Subarus. That's too bad, plus, it requires premium fuel at a high cost. Too bad again! The price is outrageously high. That's not good either. I would probably go for the Honda Civic TypeR for the price or a VW GolfR. Yeah, sorry Subaru, stick to building excellent SUVs.

That's not true they just got most reliable brand of the year reward lol. New Civics have terrible oil dilution. Golf has shit pcv, intake any coolant problems.

Mine was -$4,500 USD including 0% for 72 months, 0 down payment in California, April/May of this year, 2024. This was for any trim of my choosing, across most dealers within a 100 mile radius of my location. Oh, it’s also reliable, and if you can’t afford premium fuel, idk what to say fam.
