Asus site states the g16 gu605 5090, 5080 and 5070ti can come with up to 64GB LPDDR5X in the Intel models while the AMD ga605 tops out at 32GB LPDDR5X. AMD were held back on memory too.

@@karunthapa354 On the combination of 60% screen brightness and iGPU, one percent of the battery charge decreases every five minutes؛ so, with about 10% charge, it gives something around one hour of battery charge؛ overally from full to empty is about nine hours, which is satisfactory imo.

@@karunthapa354 I have the amd version with the 4060 and while editing and rendering on capcut with bluetooth device connected (drawing about 11-12w of power) it went down 38% in 3 hours, but if you are browsing on web/coding or other non intensive tasks you can usually get around 8-10w draw of power which would bring the battery life to over 8 hours. I love the laptop itself.

HX 370 is more of a 285H competitor, performance-wise. 285H is better in both ST and multi-threading. Don't let the fanboys fool you that this generation, AMD is better.

Cuz Intel has deals and agreements with OEMs to exclusively use their chips, and even if they didn't have such deals, AMD can't supply as much as Intel (there have already been multiple reports of AMD having poor supply and communication with OEMs in recent times). I wouldn't be surprised if NVIDIA has also got anything to do with it, considering that AMD is the next major threat to them in graphics.

What I can't wait to find out is if they removed the 110W (or was it 100W?) restriction on the 5060/5070/5070Ti limit like they had on the 4060/4070. Can't wait for the full in-depth reviews.

Everyone is talking about the 5090 only being available on the 285h vs an AMD part instead, and that’s definitely not great. But I really think it’s nice that they are seemingly pairing the 5090 with the actually designed for laptops 285H vs the Desktop-part-in-a-laptop-chassis 285HX. Pretty sure that the with the RTX 40 series you could only pair the actual laptop parts with 4070s, but might have missed some because I completely skipped the Intel 1xx series laptops.

I dont understand why people keep talking about these new Intel chipsas if they are the same as last year's. Not just here but everywhere. All of the admittedly limited information on the 200h lineup points to this chip being competitive or outperforming the Ryzen 9 AI 370, which is still the competing chip for this formfactor. We will have to see but if true, intel here is totally fine.

Likely because some of us still care about battery life and internal temperatures, at least that’s a concern of mine. Part of the reason I even consider these types of laptops is to be able to carry it around for work or school and have it double as a gaming machine. If I need to be attached to the wall outlet, it’s really not much different than buying a desktop, which I already have.

Mainly because many are just frustrated with the lack of AMD options. The Intel options are definitely powerful, and with Arrow Lake like very power efficient too now, but you have to admit that lot of the AMD Zen 5 options are really good, especially the 9955HX3D which is likely going to be the fastest gaming CPU for mobile. Although, I do feel largely that people acting as if the Intel options are complete unusable garbage are just blowing it out of proportion just because they are slightly slower performance wise (coming from someone who recently switched from an Intel to AMD laptop btw)

The Arrow Lake H series is just so ahead in MT while being slightly above ST vs AMD. You also get better battery life due to the Chadmont efficiency cores.

Amd only has USB 4. Thunderbolt 4 and 5 is an Intel technology, and so USB 5 probably haven't even standardize yet.

Thunderbolt is developed by Intel along with Apple, and is a proprietary technology for them. Thunderbolt did have a major advantage over USB before, and still does have a slight advantage, but now the difference is so small that it's generally negligible.

asus is not consumer friendly. soldered ram? they are into producing e-waste just like apple does. but for intel vs AMD, intel arrowlake CPU is on 3nm while AMD is on 4nm. So performance wise intel should be ahead here.

I still use software (drivers) from 2016 that are incompatible with recent AMD CPUs. But I agree, having the option to pick intel or AMD would be great. Wish the G14 had intel as an option.
